The age-adjusted death rates (AADRs) due to cancers were investigated in two historical regions of white wines (Tokaj and Balaton) and in Hódmezővásárhely (HMV) as a control territory in Hungary between 2000 and 2010 evaluating 111,910 persons. The results of AADRs due to the eight most frequent types/gastrointestinal cancers were as follows Tokaj 2120/664, Balaton 2417/824, HMV 2770/821, nationwide 2773/887. The values found in Tokaj and Balaton regions were significantly less than those of HMV and nationwide. However, the least values were found in Tokaj. This Tokaj-related strong difference was not found among the regions in the case of young populations with hematological diseases but only in the older people who have been consuming their wines for decades. Supposedly, this wine-specific anti-cancer phenomenon could be related to the chemical differences existing in the two types of white wines, namely, to the pro-oxidant molecules of Tokaj wines derived from Botrytis cinerea. The roles of red meat consumption, hardness of drinking water, mineral content of soil, and socioeconomic status were negligible. It should be stressed that these data are valid only for these populations, for this period. Noteworthily, the different types of wines may have different effects on mortality rates during long-lasting consumptions. The demand of lattice structures for medical applications is increasing due to their ability to accelerate the osseointegration process, to reduce the implant weight and the stiffness. Selective laser melting (SLM) process offers the possibility to manufacture directly complex lattice applications, but there are a few studies that have focused on biocompatible Ti6Al7Nb alloy. The purpose of this work was to investigate the physical-mechanical properties and the microstructure of three dissimilar lattice structures that were SLM-manufactured by using Ti6Al7Nb powder. In particular, the strut morphology, the fracture characterization, the metallographic structure, and the X-ray phase identification were analyzed. Additionally, the Gibson-Ashby prediction model was adapted for each lattice topology, indicating the theoretical compressive strength and Young modulus. The resulted porosity of these lattice structures was approximately 56%, and the pore size ranged from 0.40 to 0.91 mm. Under quasi-static compression test, three failure modes were recorded. Compared to fully solid specimens, the actual lattice structures reduce the elastic modulus from 104 to 6-28 GPa. The struts surfaces were covered by a large amount of partial melted grains. Some solidification defects were recorded in struts structure. The fractographs revealed a brittle rupture of struts, and their microstructure was mainly α' martensite with columnar grains. The results demonstrate the suitability of manufacturing lattice structures made of Ti6Al7Nb powder having unique physical-mechanical properties which could meet the medical requirements.Asphalt rubbers mixed with untreated and plasticized crumb rubbers and a compounding coupling agent were investigated in this study. The low-temperature rheological properties of asphalt rubbers at different aging levels were tested using a dynamic shear rheometer (DSR). An interconversion between linear viscoelastic material functions was used to obtain converted evaluation indexes for the asphalt rubbers at low temperatures. Lastly, the physicochemical characteristics and the microscopic morphology of the asphalt rubbers were evaluated using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), respectively. In conclusion, the storage moduli of the asphalt rubbers containing heterogeneous crumb rubbers increased with the plasticized crumb rubber content and the aging level. The converted relaxation moduli were consistent with the change trend of the storage moduli, and the relaxation rate decreased as the plasticized crumb rubber content and the aging level increased. The process of mixing the base asphalt with crumb and plasticized crumb rubbers was physical blending, and the effect of aging on the absorption peak change of asphalt rubber with plasticized crumb rubbers was less than that of asphalt rubber with ordinary crumb rubbers. Aging deteriorated the blending between the crumb rubber and the base asphalt, and a distinct interface appeared between the crumb rubber and the base asphalt. The particle cores of the plasticized crumb rubber in the asphalt rubber were difficult to maintain. Furthermore, as the plasticized crumb rubber content increased, more fine particles stripped off the plasticized crumb rubber after aging.Presenteeism is the term used to describe going in to work even with a health problem. The phenomenon has been identified as one prior factor in sickness absence and, accordingly, the better it is understood, the better will be the prevention strategies. This study aimed to examine the mediating role of presenteeism (the ability to concentrate on work and to complete work despite a health problem) in the association between psychosocial factors at work and common mental disorders (CMD). This cross-sectional study included 1218 nursing personnel at a public hospital in Brazil. Structural equation modelling was performed. The sample comprised mostly women (85.4%), and the mean age was 44.1 (SD = 11.3; range 24-70) years. Prevalence of presenteeism was 32.8%. Among presenteeist workers (n = 400), a relationship was observed between presenteeism and higher CMD scores. Furthermore, being able to concentrate on work even with a health problem mediated the relationship between social support and CMD and between psychological demands and CMD. Working when sick impairs both the work and the worker's health. Interventions designed to improve working conditions and interpersonal relations can be effective strategies against presenteeism. The advent of the Smart Grid (SG) raises severe cybersecurity risks that can lead to devastating consequences. In this paper, we present a novel anomaly-based Intrusion Detection System (IDS), called ARIES (smArt gRid Intrusion dEtection System), which is capable of protecting efficiently SG communications. Selleck Crizotinib ARIES combines three detection layers that are devoted to recognising possible cyberattacks and anomalies against (a) network flows, (b) Modbus/Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) packets and (c) operational data. Each detection layer relies on a Machine Learning (ML) model trained using data originating from a power plant. In particular, the first layer (network flow-based detection) performs a supervised multiclass classification, recognising Denial of Service (DoS), brute force attacks, port scanning attacks and bots. The second layer (packet-based detection) detects possible anomalies related to the Modbus packets, while the third layer (operational data based detection) monitors and identifies anomalies upon operational data (i.e., time series electricity measurements). By emphasising on the third layer, the ARIES Generative Adversarial Network (ARIES GAN) with novel error minimisation functions was developed, considering mainly the reconstruction difference. Moreover, a novel reformed conditional input was suggested, consisting of random noise and the signal features at any given time instance. Based on the evaluation analysis, the proposed GAN network overcomes the efficacy of conventional ML methods in terms of Accuracy and the F1 score.Bioactive coatings on VT1-0 commercially pure titanium were formed by the plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO). A study of the morphological features of coatings was carried out using scanning electron microscopy. A composition of formed coatings was investigated using energy-dispersive spectroscopy and X-ray diffractometry analysis. It was shown that PEO-coatings have calcium phosphate in their composition, which increases the bioactivity of the surface layer. Electrochemical properties of the samples were studied by potentiondynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy in different physiological media simulated body fluid and minimum essential medium. The data of electrochemical studies indicate more than 15 times decrease in the corrosion current density for the sample with coating (5.0 × 10-9 A/cm2) as compared to the bare titanium (7.7 × 10-8 A/cm2). The formed PEO-layers have elastoplastic properties close to human bone (12-30 GPa) and a lower friction coefficient in comparison with bare metal. The wettability of PEO-layers increased. The contact angle for formed coatings reduced by more than 60° in comparison with bare metal (from 73° for titanium to 8° for PEO-coating). Such an increase in surface hydrophilicity contributes to the greater biocompatibility of the formed coating in comparison with commercially pure titanium. PEO can be prospective as a method for improving titanium surface bioactivity.Alumina oxide coatings are widely used in many industrial applications to improve corrosion protection, wear and erosion resistances, and thermal insulation of metallic surfaces. The paper presents study of the microstructure, mechanical, and wear properties of HVOF (high velocity oxy-fuel process) sprayed of Al2O3-15 wt.% TiO2 coating with the NiAl interlayer on the surface of Al-Si alloy castings. The microstructure of Al2O3-15 wt.% TiO2/NiAl coating was characterized by light microscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). The analysis of the microstructure showed the formation of coating with low porosity, compact structure, good adhesion to the substrate with typical lamellar structure composed of a solid phase consisting of compounds included in the coating material and their phase variations. For analysis of the adhesion of coatings to the substrate, the scratch test was applied. An assessment of the erosive wear resistance of coatings was also carried out, confirming the significant impact of the interlayer as well as the microstructure and phase composition of the oxide coating on the wear resistance of the tested coating system. Moreover, the results were discussed in relation to the bending strength test, including cracks and delamination in the system of the Al2O3-15 wt.% TiO2/NiAl/Al-Si alloy as microhardness and erosion resistance of the coating. It was found that the introduction of the NiAl metallic interlayer significantly increased resistance to cracking and wear behavior in the studied system. The authors wish to make the following changes to this paper [...].C-reactive protein (CRP) point-of-care testing (POCT) is increasingly being promoted to reduce diagnostic uncertainty and enhance antibiotic stewardship. In primary care, respiratory tract infections (RTIs) are the most common reason for inappropriate antibiotic prescribing, which is a major driver for antibiotic resistance. We systematically reviewed the available evidence on the impact of CRP-POCT on antibiotic prescribing for RTIs in primary care. Thirteen moderate to high-quality studies comprising 9844 participants met our inclusion criteria. Meta-analyses showed that CRP-POCT significantly reduced immediate antibiotic prescribing at the index consultation compared with usual care (RR 0.79, 95%CI 0.70 to 0.90, p = 0.0003, I2 = 76%) but not during 28-day (n = 7) follow-up. The immediate effect was sustained at 12 months (n = 1). In children, CRP-POCT reduced antibiotic prescribing when CRP (cut-off) guidance was provided (n = 2). Meta-analyses showed significantly higher rates of re-consultation within 30 days (n = 8, 1 significant).
