The primary aim of this study was to study clinical and histopathological patterns of acanthosis nigricans and its correlation with dermoscopic patterns and treatment implications. 103 patients clinically diagnosed as acanthosis nigricans were enrolled in the study. Clinical evaluation, dermoscopy, and skin biopsy was done for histopathological evaluation. Consistency was observed in the changes seen on dermoscopy with clinical and histopathological findings. In this paper, the results of an epidemiological survey for Carnivore protoparvovirus-1 in wild carnivores in Italy are reported. Overall, 34 (11.4%) out of 297 tested animals were positive for Carnivore protoparvovirus-1, but the frequency of detection was much higher in intestine (54%) than in spleen samples (2.8%), thus suggesting that the intestine is the best sample to collect from wild animals for parvovirus detection. Feline panleukopenia virus (FPV) was detected in red foxes (Vulpes vulpes) (2.8%, 7/252) and Eurasian badgers (Meles meles) (10%, 1/10), whilst canine parvovirus (CPV) was found in wolves (54.3%, 19/35), Eurasian badgers (60%, 6/10) and one beech marten (Martes foina) (100%, 1/1), with more than one parvovirus type detected in some animals. Protoparvoviral DNA sequences from this study were found to be related to CPV/FPV strains detected in Asia and Europe, displaying some amino acid changes in the main capsid protein VP2 in comparison with other parvovirus strains from wildlife. In particular, the two most common mutations were Ile418Thr and Ala371Gly, which were observed in 6/12 (50%) and 5/12 (41.7%) of the CPV sequences from this study. CYPs have broad utilities in industry, but most exhibit low thermostability, limiting their use on an industrial scale. Highly thermostable enzymes can be obtained from thermophiles in geothermal areas, including hot springs, offshore oil-producing wells and volcanoes. Here, we report the identification of a gene encoding for a thermophilic CYP from the Binh Chau hot spring metagenomic database, which was designated as P450-T2. The deduced amino acid sequence showed the highest identity of 73.15% with CYP203A1 of Rhodopseudomonas palustris, supporting that P450-T2 is a member of the CYP203A subfamily. Recombinant protein expression yielded 541 nm. The optimal temperature and pH of P450-T2 were 50 °C and 8.0, respectively. The half-life of P450-T2 was 50.2 min at 50 °C, and its melting temperature was 56.80 ± 0.08 °C. It was found to accept electrons from all tested redox partners systems, with BmCPR-Fdx2 being the most effective partner.
