63 to 8.67 N/mm in machine direction and from 13.19 to 16.16 N/mm in the transverse direction.The study aims to analyze the changes produced by half-dose photodynamic therapy (HD-PDT) in the choroid of eyes with chronic central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) applying the binarization method to spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SDOCT) and OCT Angiography (OCTA) images. SDOCT and OCTA were performed before, one hour, one week, and one month after HD-PDT. Binarization with a modified Niblack method and analysis by ImageJ were applied. An average ratio between luminal part and total structure was calculated. Twenty-two eyes of 21 patients (20 male and 1 female; mean age 54.8 years) were enrolled. A statistically significant reduction of the central choroidal thickness was observed one week (from 407 µm to 362 µm, p = 0.034) and one month (from 407 µm to 341.5 µm, p = 0.0004) after HD-PDT. The baseline average ratio between luminal part and total structure was 33.4% in SDOCT, and 61.1% in OCTA. These values were 35.3% and 61% one hour, 33.9% and 60.4% one week, and 34.5% and 60.6% one month after HD-PDT, respectively. Overall, PDT seems to produce short-term changes on the luminal component of both choriocapillaris and choroid, which return to baseline status after one month from treatment. However, choroid stays significantly thinner after one month, with both luminal and interstitial components significantly reduced.Contiguous quaternary carbons in terpene natural products remain a major challenge in total synthesis. Synthetic strategies to overcome this challenge will be a pivotal prerequisite to the medicinal application of natural products and their analogs or derivatives. In this review, we cover syntheses of natural products that exhibit a dense assembly of quaternary carbons and whose syntheses were uncompleted until recently. While discussing their syntheses, we not only cover the most recent total syntheses but also provide an update on the status quo of modern syntheses of complex natural products. Herein, we review (±)-canataxpropellane, (+)-waihoensene, (-)-illisimonin A and (±)-11-O-debenzoyltashironin as prominent examples of natural products bearing contiguous quaternary carbons.Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by persistent difficulties in communication and social interaction along with a restriction in interests and the presence of repetitive behaviors. The development and use of augmented reality technology for autism has increased in recent years. However, little is known about the impact of these virtual reality technologies on clinical health symptoms. The aim of this systematic review was to investigate the impact of augmented reality through social, cognitive, and behavioral domains in children and adolescents with autism. This study is the first contribution that has carried out an evidence-based systematic review including relevant science databases about the effectiveness of augmented reality-based intervention in ASD. The initial search identified a total of 387 records. After the exclusion of papers that are not research studies and are duplicated articles and after screening the abstract and full text, 20 articles were selected for analysis. The studies examined suggest promising findings about the effectiveness of augmented reality-based treatments for the promotion, support, and protection of health and wellbeing in children and adolescents with autism. In this architecture, the sensors plane is managed by a control plane. With this separation, the network management is facilitated, and performance is improved in dynamic environments. One of the main issues a sensor environment is facing is the limited lifetime of network devices influenced by high levels of energy consumption. The current work proposes a system design which aims to improve the energy efficiency in an SDWSN by combining the concepts of content awareness and adaptive data broadcast. compoundW13 The purpose is to increase the sensors' lifespan by reducing the number of generated data packets in the resource-constrained sensors plane of the network. The system has a distributed management approach, with content awareness being implemented at the individual programmable sensor level and the adaptive data broadcast being performed in the control plane. Several simulations were run on historical weather and the results show a significant decrease in network traffic. Compared to similar work in this area which focuses on improving energy efficiency with complex algorithms for routing, clustering, or caching, the current proposal employs simple computing procedures on each network device with a high impact on the overall network performance.
