Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) and medical treatment are integrated parts of the intervention for cardiac patients and are a class 1A recommendation. However, CR dropout is reported to be relatively high and little is known about the reasons for CR dropout in primary health settings.

This study investigates causes for CR dropout through a qualitative audit of medical charts among patients with ischaemic heart disease.

This was a qualitative retrospective audit of patient's medical charts. Patients who dropped out from CR between 1 January and 31 December 2018 in five primary health settings were included. Local patient charts provided information related to causes and formed the basis of the analysis. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis.

A total of 690 patients were referred for and commenced CR and 199 (29%) dropped out. Twenty-five (12.6%) patients finished CR but were excluded due to standards of ≥180 days between CR meetings, leaving 118 patients included. Four themes as causes for patient's dnt. In accordance with the innervation status defined by MP, electrical stimulation (ES) is executed either via nerve or direct muscle stimulation as a supplementary therapy to the traditional occupational and physiotherapeutic treatment methods. Depending on the objective, ES is applied for motor learning, strengthening, or maintenance of muscle contractile properties. By employing ES, hand and arm function can be predicted by MP and AIS and used as the basis for providing an individualized treatment plan.

Most people who sustain a stroke are likely to experience sexual difficulties during their recovery. However, few people get the opportunity to address sexuality during their rehabilitation because of factors related to the organization (e.g., culture), managers (e.g., lack of resources), clinicians (e.g., perceived lack of knowledge, skills, and comfort), and clients (e.g., taboo). A multifactorial program tailored to stakeholders' needs with various complementary interventions is needed to lead to a change of practice in post-stroke sexual rehabilitation.

This qualitative study will be conducted in four steps using an Intervention Mapping approach and a co-design methodology divided into four phases (1) exploration; (2) co-design; (3) validation; and (4) development. Persons with stroke, partners, clinicians and managers from five distinct stroke rehabilitation centres in the province of Quebec (Canada), and researchers will be recruited to either participate in an advisory committee or working groups throughout the study. A combination of contributions from three different types of groups (advisory group, Lego® groups, work groups) will be used for data collection. Qualitative data analysis will first be realized by two independent reviewers using the Theoretical Domains Framework, and preliminary results of analysis will be validated with the advisory and working groups.

Currently 1.9 billion adults worldwide are estimated to be overweight or obese. Weight loss sustainability is difficult, and weight loss rehabilitation programs have been criticised for having an individualistic approach. It has been suggested that occupational therapists could be used as part of a transdisciplinary approach because of their holistic perspective. During the development of an occupational therapy- based weight loss program five components arose as essential from earlier interviews with health professionals and citizens with obesity diet, physical activities, social relations, habits and balancing everyday life. Before developing the program, we needed a clearer picture of which strategies should support the five components. The aim of this study was to obtain a description of strategies related to the five components that could support weight loss to become part of everyday life of people with obesity.

This study took a participatory design by using research circle (RC) methodology. Two RCre related to finding meaning and variation in activities which is part of an ongoing weight loss process.

The strategies for a weight loss program including the five components should include awareness of senses and activity patterns surrounding meals, taking one step at a time when focusing of physical activities and be conscious of values, include family and friends in the program to find common ground and self-confidence and use re-placement activities. We suggest that the component of balancing everyday life should be seen as an overall component as all strategies are related to finding meaning and variation in activities which is part of an ongoing weight loss process.To identify future research priorities and meaningful outcomes focused on community-level interventions for children and youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities and families, a group underrepresented in research, we established a diverse patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR) community. We focused on engaging regionally and nationally-diverse stakeholders-individuals, families, healthcare professionals, community, and policy experts-in research development activities that would build partnerships and research capacity. This community of stakeholders also represented the matrix of systems, services, and programs that people frequent in their communities (e.g., cultural arts, worship, sports and recreation, and transportation). We present the engagement process and methods for including individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as stakeholders in research planning and processes. The results of planning, completing, and evaluating three face-to-face research capacity-building meetings and their subsequent stakeholder engagement activities include (1) individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families clearly expressed a desire to be included and to feel good about their participation in community settings, (2) many of our stakeholders wanted action and change to happen in their communities now, and often did not realize or understand that research takes time, (3) organizations expressed a need for mentoring related to best practices for access and inclusive programming. Overarching issues around societal inclusion, equal opportunities, and life chances for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families were front and center across communities and multi-stakeholder groups, and achieving change remains valued and a high priority.Health care interventions that are intended to improve hearing should be based on the results of individual patient assessments. To improve these assessments, the feasibility of an International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF)-based interview tool was tested in a single clinical setting in Sweden. Audiologists participating in the study used the interview tool during a four-week testing period and provided written reflections after each session. The use of this tool was also evaluated in a focus group interview that took place after the completion of the project. The results of this study identified both process-related and structure-related factors that were highly relevant to the implementation of this interview tool. Overall, the findings revealed that the use of this interview tool promoted person-centered care in encounters focused on clinical audiological rehabilitation. Specifically, the ICF-based holistic approach permitted the audiologists to acquire more comprehensive patient narratives.
