With the pervasive nature of social media and Internet use among young adults, researchers have begun to explore experiences of online disinhibition, defined as reductions in restraint in online versus face-to-face settings. In contributing to this literature, this study aimed to test whether perceptions of the Internet as a place where one has the ability to be invisible, anonymous, and exercise control over interactions promotes greater online disinhibition. A sample of Australian young adults (N = 687; 59.8 percent female; Mage = 19.45 years, SD = 2.07) were included in the study. The sample was split to enable exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses on the measures of Internet perceptions, with results finding two subfactors; (a) perceptions of the ability to be protected, invisible, or feel safe online (labeled protection), and (b) perceptions of control over interactions and self-presentation online (labeled control). Links between perceptions of protection and control, and online disinhibition were then examined, before testing social anxiety as a moderator of these links. Results demonstrated that perceptions of protection, but not control, significantly predicted online disinhibition in young adults. Furthermore, this relationship was moderated by social anxiety such that young adults high in both social anxiety and perceptions of protection reported the highest online disinhibition. This study highlights novel perceptions of online contexts, illustrates their links with online disinhibition, and demonstrates how social anxiety may interact with perceptions of protection in predicting online experiences.Introduction The objectives of this study were to compare the quality-of-care and compliance with medical record regulations between in-person consultations (QIP and CIP) and telephone consultations (QTP and CTP), from rheumatoid arthritis (RA) outpatients, during the COVID-19 pandemic, and to explore the impact of the consultation modality on the treatment. Methods Data from 324 medical notes corresponding to rheumatic consultations between July and December 2020 were abstracted. Notes were selected considering a stratified (in-person and telephone consultations) random sampling strategy. QIP, CIP, QTP, and CTP were scored based on prespecified criteria as percentages, where higher numbers translated into better standards. Logistic regression analysis investigated the association between the consultation modality and the treatment recommendation (dependent variable). Results There were 208 (64.2%) medical notes related to in-person consultations and 114 (35.2%) to telephone consultations. Overall, medical notes corresponded to middle-aged women with long-standing disease. QIP was superior to QTP (median, interquartile range) 60% (60-75%) versus 50% (25-60%), p ≤ 0.001, and differences were related to disease activity and prognosis documentation (81.3% vs. 34.5% and 55.8% vs. 33.6%, respectively, p ≤ 0.001) and the prolonged prescription of glucocorticoids with a documented management plan (58.5% vs. 30.4%, p = 0.045). Meanwhile, CIP and CTP were similar. Telephone consultation was a significant risk factor for no changes in the treatment recommendation (odds ratio 2.113, 95% confidence interval 1.284-3.479, p = 0.003), and results were consistent in the 142 medical notes with documented absence of disease activity. Conclusions In the clinical context of RA, the quality-of-care provided by telephone consultations is below the standard of care and impacts the treatment.Extracellular signals are reported to mediate chemical cross-talk among pelagic microbes, including microalgal prey and predators. The temporal dynamics of such exo-metabolites largely remains unknown, especially in large-scale cultivation of microalgae such as closed or open ponds. In open ponds, infestation of predators is almost inevitable but highly undesirable due to the imminent threat of culture collapse. The early production of exo-metabolites emitted by microalgal prey in response to predator attack could be leveraged as diagnostic markers of possible culture collapse. This study uses an untargeted approach for temporal profiling of Dunaliella tertiolecta-specific exo-metabolites under grazing pressure from Oxyrrhis marina. We report 24 putatively identified metabolites, belonging to various classes such as short peptides, lipids, indole-derivatives, and free amino acids, as potential markers of grazing-mediated stress. In addition, this study outlines a clear methodology for screening of exo-metabolites in marine algal samples, the analysis of which is frequently hindered by high salt concentrations. We tested foveal vision in children aged 3 to 8 years with typical vision or strabismic amblyopia and peripheral vision in typical adults. When the target was surrounded by flankers that differed by ± 30°, all three groups (adults and children with typical or amblyopic vision) reported orientations between the target and flankers (assimilation). Resident physicians are uniquely at high financial risk given their long training programs, lack of financial education, and documented poor financial literacy. Budgeting for retirement savings is an important metric for financial literacy.

Semi-structured interviews were conducted with residents from two distinct surgery programs to assess their current financial status and their knowledge of and attitudes toward retirement savings strategies. Qualitative analysis was performed and the themes identified were examined in the context of previously reported quantitative survey data.

As previously reported, 105 residents at Site 1 completed a comprehensive financial survey 56% of respondents reported having no retirement savings. We also assessed the diagnostic value of BCOR immunohistochemistry (IHC) in HGESSs, low-grade endometrial stromal sarcomas (LGESS) and uterine leiomyosarcomas. Methods. One hundred fifty-one uterine sarcomas diagnosed between 2000-2019 were reevaluated, and tumors of 39 patients with specific features were included in the study. Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) studies using YWHAE and BCOR break-apart probes and BCOR IHC were performed. BCOR IHC was also performed in 20 leiomyosarcomas and 19 LGESSs. Results. In six HGESSs, translocations involving YWHAE or BCOR were detected. Five tumors showed high-grade morphology and revealed YWHAE translocation.
