To identify characteristics of workers and industries where particular concerns are more common. Method Prospective cohort study of 1063 employed Australian adults, enrolled at the start of the pandemic. Data on attitudes to workplaces reopening were collected 1 July-30 September 2020. The frequency of concerns describes infection risk and changes to work and impact on home life. Regression models examined associations between demographic and industry factors with reopening concerns. Results More than four in five (82.4%) of workers reported concerns about workplace infection risk. Just over half (53.4%) reported concerns about impacts to work and home life. Concerns were more prevalent for workers reporting psychological distress, financial stress, and among those exclusively working from home. Concerns regarding infection risk were common for workers in health care (IRR 1.16, 95% CI [1.01, 1.33]), retail (IRR 1.31, 95% CI [1.06, 1.61]), and accommodation/food service industries (IRR 1.25, 95% CI [1.01, 1.55]). Concerns regarding changes to work and home life were more common for female workers (IRR 1.24, 95% CI [1.07, 1.43]), and partners/spouses with dependent children (IRR 1.44, 95% CI [1.16, 1.79]). Sub-Saharan African (SSA) countries that currently face enormous healthcare challenges have implemented national health policies focusing on regional or international health commitments. These health commitments generally promote new healthcare financing policies (e.g., health insurance, user fee exemption and results-based financing) with the objective of providing ever-larger population cohorts with human capital and better health in particular. To achieve this, governments must involve themselves more fully in their respective healthcare sectors through the mobilisation of public funding.

This paper aims to examine convergence in health expenditure throughout SSA. The findings of club convergence will allow a robust comparison of health indicators between countries and will be suitable for the adjustment of health policies to foster the efficiency of such policies at the regional and/or country level. Such findings could also help with the conception and implementation of health policies at the regionahe convergence to a single equilibrium state in public health expenditure, attention could be paid to strengthening integration within the various regional economic organisations and to the coordination and integration of healthcare policies within and across convergence clubs throughout SSA.

In this study, in vitro experiments and computational fluid dynamic (CFD) simulations are used to expand the understand of the physics of saline flushing of a blocked artery to enable optical imaging. This process involves saline injection, mixing with blood, and advection of the mixture away from the region of interest to provide a clear optical path for imaging.

CFD simulations are used as a rapid turn-around tool for the evolutionary design process of an endovascular catheter that combines imaging forward-viewing element with saline flushing lumens.

A novel design and control technique is developed that provides the method to regulate the pressure in a blocked artery during saline flushing, so only small deviations from physiological pressure values are exerted on the damaged artery wall at any time, minimizing risk of rupture. In vitro experiments demonstrate the optical clearing process in phantoms simulating chronic total occlusions (CTOs) in coronary arteries with an opaque blood surrogate being removed by saline flushing. With the CFD compared by the experiments, parametric analyses of artery diameter and curvature, and flushing lumen diameter size were conducted to understand their impact on flushing times and pressures. Different plaque morphologies were studied to explore the feasibility of saline flushing in different CTO conditions.

Glenoid loosening is a common failure mechanism of anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty (TSA). New hybrid fixation glenoids allow bony ingrowth and decrease the rates of glenoid loosening. The purpose of this study is to describe a new failure mode of polyethylene dissociation from the ingrowth cage in a single implant design.

A retrospective review was performed using an institutional shoulder arthroplasty database of a single hybrid cage glenoid (Exactech, Gainesville, FL). Implants demonstrating this failure mechanism were investigated.

Five out of 206 (2.4%) primary TSAs with cage glenoids performed at our institution and 2 referred for revision suffered glenoid articular face failure. Mean age was 57 (range 38-67years). Two of 7 failures (29%) occurred secondary to trauma. Failure occurred at mean 14months after index arthroplasty (range 0-30months). Revision occurred at mean 24months after index arthroplasty (range 6-39months). Six of the 7 patients (86%) had posteriorly augmented glenoids. All 6 fter an otherwise unproblematic TSA.
