However, in some studies PAD is not an independent risk factor. We sought to examine the independent impact of PAD on a large prospective percutaneous coronary intervention registry. Methods and Results From our single-center prospective percutaneous coronary intervention registry, we have retrospectively analyzed 25 690 patients (years 2004-2018). We examined the influence of PAD on short- and long-term outcomes using both regression and propensity-matched analyses. Patients with documented PAD (n=1610, 6.3% of total) were older (66.7±10.8 versus 65.4±12.1, P less then 0.01), had higher rates of diabetes mellitus (69.3% versus 46.3%, P less then 0.01), hypertension (92.1% versus 76.1%, P less then 0.01) and renal failure (38.3% versus 18.2%, P less then 0.01). There were no differences in the rates of stable versus acute presentations, but less were treated with Prasugrel and Ticagrelor (3.3% versus 8.0% and 7.9% versus 11.9%, respectively, P less then 0.001 for both). Methods and Results We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of studies testing antithrombotic agents in animal models of tPA-induced hemorrhagic transformation. The pooled effects were calculated using random-effects models, and heterogeneity was explored through meta-regression and subgroup analyses. Publication bias was assessed using trim and fill method and the Egger test. The efficacy of 18 distinct interventions was described in 22 publications. The pooled data showed a significant improvement in cerebral hemorrhage, infarct size, and neurobehavioral outcome in treated compared with control animals (standardized mean difference, 0.45 [95% CI, 0.11-0.78]; standardized mean difference, 1.18 [95% CI, 0.73-1.64]; and standardized mean difference, 0.91 [95% CI, 0.49-1.32], respectively). His postoperative course was unremarkable, and he was discharged home. Postoperative workup demonstrated lymphocyte variant hypereosinophilia. He continues to follow with thoracic surgery at the time of this report and remains asymptomatic. We conclude that uniportal VATS is a most minimally invasive, safe, and efficient approach for management of complex intrathoracic pathology including total pulmonary decortication and lobectomy.

Molecular docking simulation is now widely used to study the binding of different types of nanoparticles with proteins and nucleic acids. This helps not only in understanding the mechanism of their biological action but also in predicting any potential toxicity. In this review, the computational techniques used in studying the nanoparticles interaction with biological macromolecules are covered. Then, a comprehensive overview of the docking studies performed on various types of nanoparticles will be offered. The implication of these predicted interactions in the biological activity and/or toxicity is also discussed for each type of nanoparticles.
