stibular schwannoma growth occurred in 33% of patients under observation. Involution occurred in 2% of patients under observation and in 38% after radiotherapy.

The object of the study is to relate the pattern reversal visual evoked potential (PRVEP) and flash VEP (f-VEP) latencies with retinal neurons and their fibers.

We studied 104 eyes. Forty-two eyes from patients with optic neuritis (ON), 28 eyes from patients with multiple sclerosis without involvement of the optic nerves (MS-non-ON), and 34 eyes of normal controls.

Pattern reversal visual evoked potential latency is more delayed in patients with ON than in patients with multiple sclerosis nonON. Flash visual evoked potential (f-VEP) latency was delayed in both categories. Peripapillary retinal nerve fiber layer (pRNFL) and ganglion cell/inner plexiform layer (GCIPL) thickness was lower in patients with ON and multiple sclerosis non-ON. In patients with ON, f-VEP latencies correlated negatively with pRNFL thickness but not GCIPL thickness. In patients with ON, PRVEP latencies did not correlate with pRNFL thickness but correlate negatively with GCIPL thickness.

Patients with ON have delayed VEPs and thie macula and optic nerve. This study was conducted to analyze health care personnel's attitudes toward traditional and complementary medicine (TCM) and life satisfaction due to coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. This cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted between April 2 and 9, 2020. The Questionnaire form was sent to health care personnel online. A total of 560 individuals who answered the questionnaires were included in the study. The data were collected by using the Personal Information Form, Holistic Complementary and Alternative Medicine Questionnaire (HCAMQ), and Life Satisfaction Scale (LSS). Average age of the participants was 30.88 ± 7.68 years, 82.5% were male, and 65.5% were working as nurses. It was found that 45.5% of the participants used TCM methods for COVID-19 during the last month; 48.7% of the health care personnel stated that they used TCM methods to strengthen their immune system. AM1241 mouse The HCAMQ total average score was 27.96 ± 5.49; the holistic health subdimension total average score was 9.59 ± 3.04; the complementary and alternative medicine subdimension total average score was 18.37 ± 3.58; and the LSS total average score was 20.78 ± 6.32. A positive weak statistically significant association was found between the HCAMQ and complementary and alternative medicine subdimension and the LSS (P less then .05). Participants had moderately positive attitudes toward TCM and life satisfaction. As the participants' positive attitudes toward TCM increased, their life satisfaction was also found to increase. In this study, our purpose was to determine prevalence of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) in pediatric respiratory diseases and methods of CAM use accordingly. Each of the CAM treatment has a special risk/benefit combination and it is absolutely crucial for health care professionals to question those methods. The support group process effect on caregiver burden on family members of dementia patients based on Watson's theory of human caring was that a significant difference was found between caregivers and control groups. Qualitatively, the support group process could reduce caregiver burden and improve coping skills. This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of acupressure applied to hemodialysis patients on the level of daytime sleepiness and sleep quality. The data were collected using the Descriptive Information Form, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, and Epworth Sleepiness Scale. In the study, a total of 12 sessions of acupressure were applied to the Shenmen (HT7), Sanyingjao (Sp6), and Yungquan (KI1) points in the experimental group for 4 weeks. No intervention was applied to the control group. After the acupressure, it was determined that the sleep quality of the experimental group was better than that of the control group and that daytime sleepiness was less compared with the control group. After the acupressure, it was determined that the sleep latency of the experimental group was statistically significantly less and their total sleep duration was higher compared with the control group (P less then .05). Although there was a decrease in the sleep quality of the experimental group 1 month after the cessation of the acupressure, it was determined that the sleep quality of the experimental group was better than that of the control group (P less then .05). It was concluded that acupressure was an effective nursing intervention in increasing sleep quality and decreasing daytime sleepiness of hemodialysis patients.Essential oil diffusion can decrease stress. In one hospital, citrus essential oils were diffused over 6 weeks. Staff completed surveys of their stress levels before and after diffusion. Staff did not report a significant reduction in stress; however, there was an increase in feeling "relaxed."Presence of support persons enhances patient and family satisfaction. The introduction of the coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has impacted hospital operations and has reduced visitation. A virtual visitation program was implemented in critical care units to replicate visitation by video chat to ease stress on patients and family members to improve communication.

Traditionally, perforated diverticulitis has been managed with an open approach, with a Hartmann procedure or a colectomy with primary anastomosis. Minimally invasive surgery is associated with postoperative advantages in the elective setting and may show a benefit in the emergent setting.

The aim of this study was to compare postoperative outcomes of open vs minimally invasive approaches for emergent perforated diverticulitis.

This was a retrospective review of the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program targeted colectomy database using propensity score matching.

Interventions were performed in hospitals participating in the national database.

Patients who underwent emergent colectomy from 2012 to 2017 were included. Procedures were divided into Hartmann procedure and primary anastomosis. Open vs minimally invasive groups were defined by intention to treat.

Outcomes measures included length of stay and overall morbidity and mortality.

Of 130,616 patients, 7105 met inclusion criteria (4486 Hartmann procedure and 2619 primary anastomosis).
