Was to investigate the effectiveness of combined treatment with elastic bands and splints in patients with masticatory muscle hypertension. 103 patients (37 men and 66 women) aged from 21 to 65 years were examined. The diagnosis was made based on clinical and instrumental (electromyography) methods. Orludodstat Pain intensity was determined using a visual-analog scale (VAS). Elimination of masticatory muscle hypertension in patients of the first group (51 people) was carried out using only splints while patients of the second group (52 people) had a combined therapy with elastic bands and splints. In the second group of patients reliable reducing of pain intensity was observed by day 14 from the start of therapy (4.54±0.5 points), while in the first group of patients it was discovered only by day 21 (5.08±0.6 points). Reliable changing of the bioelectrical activity of masticatory muscles in the second group of patients was observed by the beginning of second week from the start of preliminary therapy, while in the firsrapy (4.54±0.5 points), while in the first group of patients it was discovered only by day 21 (5.08±0.6 points). Reliable changing of the bioelectrical activity of masticatory muscles in the second group of patients was observed by the beginning of second week from the start of preliminary therapy, while in the first group of patients it was discovered only by the third week. Thus, the proposed method of masticatory muscles hypertension treatment using elastic bands and splints has features, favorably distinguish it from the other methods of the therapy, because it provides sparing functioning condition for masticatory muscles.

Of the work was to develop a diagnostic algorithm for the differentiation of chronic inflammatory, benign and malignant processes in the parotid salivary gland (PSG) by the ratio of pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines in the oral fluid.

The epidemiological group of patients with cancer of the parotid salivary gland included 140 people from the oncological register of the Rostov region with the date of diagnosis, from 1969 to 2020. link2 The clinical part of the work was performed on 70 patients of both sexes aged 50 to 80 years 15 patients with chronic nonspecific parenchymal sialadenitis of the PSG (ICD K11.2) (group 1), 19 patients with pleomorphic adenoma of the PSG (ICD D11.0) (2 group), 20 patients with cancer of the PSG (ICD C07) (group 3) and 16 healthy individuals without pathology of the oral cavity (control group). The concentration of interleukin-6 (IL-6) and interleukin-10 (IL-10) was determined in the oral fluid by enzyme immunoassay.

It was found that in 58.5% of cases at the initial examinatioo make an individual diagnostic decision in a specific clinical situation.

To compare dental and psychological status in athletes of Olympic teams and the population of Moscow.

In order to study the features of the dental rehabilitation of Olympic athletes, a comparative study of the dental and psychological status of 132 athletes was carried out when they were included in the Olympic teams and 104 residents of Moscow of the same age. Clinical x-ray examination was supplemented by «Hamburg testing» of the masticatory apparatus and psychological examination using common questionnaires and scales.

The study revealed a difference in the status of dental status, the results of the "Hamburg Testing" and psychological examination between athletes of the Olympic reserve and the population of Moscow of the same age. Athletes showed a lower quality of previous treatment of caries and its complications, insufficient oral hygiene, more frequent detection of chronic periodontitis, diseases of the oral mucosa, secondary deformations of the dentition, pathological phenomena of the temporomandibular joint, masticatory apparatus dysfunction according to the results of the "Hamburg Testing". Orludodstat Athletes also established psychological status features higher rates of reactive and personal anxiety, the presence of depressive manifestations, lower quality of sleep and quality of life.

The revealed patterns can provoke muscle hyper-tone and muscular-articular dysfunction of the maxillofacial region, which must be taken into account during the dental rehabilitation of athletes of Olympic teams.

The study investigated the effect of 2%s odium hypochlorite gel application after post-etching salivary contamination on composite bonding strength to primary teeth enamel.

The sample consisted of 79 primary human teeth that were extracted no more than one month ago. The sample was randomly divided into four groups (1) the control group (A) comprised 10 primary teeth, and composites were applied in the traditional manner without any salivary contamination; (2) the second group (B) consisted of 23 primary teeth in which salivary contamination was conducted after etching followed by re-etching and follow-up; (3) the third group (C) comprised 23 primary teeth in which saliva contamination was done after etching followed by washing, drying, and follow-up; and (4) the fourth group (D) comprised 23 primary teeth, in which salivary contamination was conducted after etching followed by application of sodium hypochlorite gel and follow-up. The samples were tested using the Testometric Tensile Strength Device (Testometric M350-10 kN, Testometric Ltd., UK) to measure the composite bonding strength to enamel of primary teeth.

The arithmetic mean strength values in the research sample were ordered as followed (A=13.39 MPa) > (D=11.82 MPa) > (C=8.07 MPa) > (B=6.15 MPa). The application of sodium hypochlorite gel after salivary contamination significantly improved the composite bonding strength to primary teeth enamel when compared with re-etching or only washing and drying.

15 s exposition of sodium hypochlorite gel with subsequent rinse and drying is recommended in case of saliva contamination of etched primary tooth enamel surface.

To study the features of reparative dentinogenesis when using biomaterials during accidental opening of the pulp in an experiment.

In an experiment on 3 dwarf pigs of the Svetlogorsk breed a traumatic opening of the tooth cavity was carried out in 18 teeth (6 molars, 6 premolars, 6 incisors), then Biodentin (9 teeth) and Aurosil (9 teeth) were applied on the opened pulp horn. After 14, 30 and 60 days, dwarf pigs were euthanized, and jaw blocks taken. link2 Histological examination of the teeth was carried out using the method of embedding in methyl methacrylate (OsteoBead, Sigma, USA). Thin sections of 35-50 microns were made from the samples and stained using the «Heavenly Trichrome» method. link3 Documentation was carried out using a Leica DM100 microscope and an EC3 digital camera in reflected and transmitted light.

Histological examination of the thin sections of teeth stained according to the «Heavenly Trichrome» method revealed that 2 weeks after the pulp opening and applying of Aurosil and Biodentin, comparable processes occurred in the tooth cavity. link2 Thus, the proliferation of odontoblasts was noted on the lateral surfaces of the chamber. New dentin layers and odontoblasts spread over the lower surface of the material with the formation of dentinal bridges by 4 weeks of observation in both groups. By week 12, there was a decrease in the proliferative activity of odontoblasts and dentin maturation in all cases. At the initial stages of the experiment, some pulp edema and moderate plethora were noted, which was no longer observed at 4 weeks. By 12 weeks, because of the proliferation of odontoblasts, the volume of the tooth cavity was reduced by a third. By the 6th month in the experiment, no significant changes in the structure of dentin and pulp were revealed.

According to morphological data the studied biomaterials (Aurosil and Biodentin) contribute to dentin regeneration equally.

The aim of the study was to analyze a three-dimensional finite element model of a post-resection defect of the lower jaw, design and producing of an individual reconstructive plate, compare the stress-strain of this plate using standard reconstructive «CONMET» plate for stabilizing the lower jaw segments through a simulation of the chewing load.

The study was carried out on two identical finite elementary models with bone defects in the body of the lower jaw by fixing with a standard reconstructive «CONMET» plate and designed reconstructive plate. link3 In order to simulate the biomechanical loads on the plates when chewing, an impact of force during the occlusal contact of the incisor was applied. The magnitude of the vertical load was equal to 150 N. The condylar processes were fixed in all three directions to prevent reaction forces in the temporomandibular joint.

Comparative analysis of two fixation methods showed higher value of equivalent Von Mises stress in individual reconstructive plate than in standard plate.

Individual reconstructive plate has better strength characteristics compared to the standard reconstructive «CONMET» plate.

Globally, since the outbreak, more than seven million confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported. link3 The rapid spread and increase in the number of new cases is due to person-to-person transmission. To further control its transmission, early laboratory diagnosis of both asymptomatic and symptomatic patients is crucial. Presently, the COVID-19 diagnosis of infected individuals is dependent on computed tomography scanning and real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The latter is considered more sensitive and efficient for early diagnosis. In this review, general comparisons are made (cases, fatality rate, incubation period, clinical features, and reservoirs) and diagnostic laboratory procedures (specimens, extraction methods, and positive rates by real-time PCR) are compared between SARS, Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, and SARS-2. In total, 8982 SARS-2 suspected patients specimen data were retrieved, in which 40.9% (n = 3678) were detected as positive by real-time PCR. The specimen-wise high detection rate was observed from bronchoalveolar lavage, followed by saliva, nasal swabs, and sputum. As the COVID-19 cases are persistently increasing, the selection of appropriate specimens and laboratory assay would help in rapid and timely diagnosis.
