A fixed CM injection duration yields a greater magnitude in hepatic enhancement indices than a fixed injection rate. Inter-patient variability in hepatic enhancement indices do not significantly differ between the two injection protocols.

The classical signs and symptoms of infections are often not present in this patient population, which makes the diagnosis more challenging. Host factors play a major role in the development and prognosis of infections in cancer patients; these can be related to the underlying type of malignancy (solid organ versus hematological), tumor burden, anatomic obstruction, altered integrity of barriers (skin or mucosa), treatment-related factors (from chemotherapy, radiation treatment, surgery, interventional procedures, and/or medical device placement) and the degree of immunosuppression. This article reviews common, as well as less common, imaging manifestations of infections and their potential mimics in the abdomen and pelvis in cancer patients and discusses their differentiating features, with the role of imaging in various organs in the abdomen and pelvis taking into consideration relevant clinical background information and the main risk factors.
Evaluate the effect of breath holding at the end of the inspiration and expiration phases on the measurement of liver stiffness by 2D-MR elastography (MRE).
The study included 61 subjects, of which 31 subjects were pathologically confirmed liver fibrosis patients [liver fibrosis group (LFG)] and 30 healthy subjects [healthy group (HG)]. MRE was used to measure the liver stiffness of subjects in inspiration breath-hold (IBH) and expiration breath-hold (EBH) states.
In IBH and EBH states, the liver stiffness measured by MRE was not significantly different in the HG (P = 0.125, > 0.05), while the LFG showed a significant difference (P <0.001). Also, a significant difference was observed between the change values in the mild/moderate fibrosis group (MFG) and advanced fibrosis group (AFG) (P = 0.005, < 0.05).
The liver stiffness values in patients with liver fibrosis were affected by breath-holding states. The higher the stage of liver fibrosis, the greater the change in liver stiffness values, but no significant difference was observed between liver stiffness values in healthy subjects under the two breath-holding conditions. Different breath-holding states are factors influencing liver fibrosis stiffness measured by MRE, which should be given due attention in both clinical and research contexts.

Diagnosis and treatment planning depend on urethrography, usually performed with a combination of retrograde urethrography (RUG) and voiding cystourethrography (VCUG) to evaluate the anterior and posterior urethra, respectively. While this is most commonly performed fluoroscopically, sonographic urethrography is an alternative, although at the expense of the posterior urethra, it is only visualized using a transrectal approach. Tamoxifen In addition to understand urethral anatomy, familiarity with normal periurethral structures is necessary to avoid misdiagnosis, such as Cowper's ducts, the glands of Littré, and the prostatic and ejaculatory ducts. Surgical management depends on the stricture location, length, and number and options range from balloon dilatation to endoscopic urethrotomy to anastomotic and substitution urethrotomy. Postprocedural management includes urethrography to identify potential complications including urethral leak, graft failure, and stricture recurrence.
To assess the relative clinical efficacy and safety of ablation and laparoscopic adrenalectomy (LA) for the treatment of adrenal aldosterone-producing adenoma (APA).
Pubmed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases were searched for relevant studies, while the meta-analysis was performed with RevMan v5.3.
After initially identifying 496 potentially relevant studies, five were ultimately included in the final meta-analysis. In total, these studies contained 128 patients that underwent LA and 91 patients that underwent ablation to treat APA. Clinical success rates were comparable between these two groups (OR 0.55, P = 0.20), whereas the pooled decreases of systolic and diastolic blood pressure were significantly larger in the ablation group (P = 0.01 and 0.002, respectively). Pooled changes in the aldosterone-to-renin ratio (ARR), serum potassium levels, and medication use were similar in both groups (P = 0.62, 0.24, and 0.96, respectively). The average operative duration in the ablation group was somewhat shorter, but the difference was not significant (MD - 57.99; P = 0.05), whereas the average blood loss and postoperative hospital stay duration of patients in the ablation group were decreased for patients in the ablation group compared to the LA group (P < 0.00001 and 0.00001, respectively). Major complication, minor complication, and hypertension crisis rates were comparable between these groups (P = 0.35, 0.69, and 0.09, respectively).
Ablation offers comparable efficacy to LA when treating patients with APA, but is associated with a reduced operative duration, decreased intraoperative blood loss, and faster postoperative recovery.
