Current methods for PCa treatment are insufficient owing to the challenges related to the non-specificity, instability and side effects caused by the drugs and therapy agents. These drawbacks can be mitigated by the design of a suitable drug delivery system that can ensure targeted delivery and minimise side effects. Silica based nanoparticles (SBNPs) have emerged as one of the most versatile materials for drug delivery due to their tunable porosities, high surface area and tremendous capacity to load various sizes and chemistry of drugs. This review gives a brief overview of the diagnosis and current treatment strategies for PCa outlining their existing challenges. It critically analyzes the design, development and application of pure, modified and hybrid SBNPs based drug delivery systems in the treatment of PCa, their advantages and limitations.
Studies have thus far neglected to evaluate the impact of the da Vinci single port (SP) robotic platform on surgeon experience and operating room efficiency. We sought to assess the effect of the SP platform on surgeon cognitive load measures during robotic assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy (RALP).
We prospectively compared the first 20 SP-RALPs performed at our institution to 20 multi-port (MP)-RALPs performed by a single experienced robotic surgeon. Three multi-dimensional assessment tools were used to evaluate mental and surgical workload, teamwork and workflow disruptions.
No statistically significant differences were found between the MP-RALP and SP-RALP cohorts when evaluated by NASA Task Load Index, Surgery Task Load Index and Observational Teamwork Assessments.
The SP robotic platform did not adversely affect human factor performance of the surgeon during RALP. Multi-institutional validation will be necessary to confirm these initial findings.

In psychiatric research, functional connectivity (FC) derived from resting-state functional MRI (rsfMRI) is often used to investigate brain abnormalities in psychiatric disorders. This approach assumes implicitly that FC can recover reliable maps of the functional architecture of the brain and that these profiles of connectivity reflect trait differences underlying pathology. However, evidence of FC related to self-generated thoughts (mind-wandering) stands in contrast with these assumptions, as FC may reflect thought patterns rather than functional architecture.
Multi-factor analysis (MFA) was used to investigate the reported content of self-generated thoughts during high-field (7T) rsfMRI in a repeated sample of 22 healthy individuals. To investigate the relationship between these experiences and FC, individual scores for each of these dimensions were compared with whole-brain connectivity using the network-based statistic (NBS) method.
This analysis revealed three dimensions of thought content self-referential thought, negative thoughts about one's surroundings, and thoughts in the form of imagery. A network of connections within the sensorimotor cortices negatively correlated with self-generated thoughts concerning the self was observed (p=.0081, .0486 FDR).
These results suggest a potentially confounding relationship between self-generated thoughts and FC, and contribute to the body of research concerning the functional representation of mind-wandering.

Growing evidence indicates that circRNAs are closely related to HCC progression, may be used as biomarkers and targets for the diagnosis and treatment of HCC. Recent researches have shown that circPUM1 may play an oncogene role in a variety of human cancers, but its role in HCC development has not been reported. Our study found that circPUM1 could promote the proliferation, migration and invasion of HCC cells in vitro. In addition, in vivo studies showed that circPUM1 could increase the development of HCC tumours and regulate the expression of EMT-related proteins. Furthermore, we demonstrated that circPUM1 could promote the development of HCC by up-regulating the expression of MAP3K2 via sponging miR-1208. Our study suggested that circPUM1 may be a potential therapeutic target for HCC.Most extremophilic anaerobes possess a sulfur formation (Suf) system for Fe-S cluster biogenesis. In addition to its essential role in redox chemistry and stress responses of Fe-S cluster proteins, the Suf system may play an important role in keratin degradation by Fervidobacterium islandicum AW-1. Comparative genomics of the order Thermotogales revealed that the feather-degrading F. islandicum AW-1 has a complete Suf-like machinery (SufCBDSU) that is highly expressed in cells grown on native feathers in the absence of elemental sulfur (S0 ).
