e methods than those have history of health facility visit (AOR=0.057; 95% CI 0.034, 0.096). Adolescent women who heard of contraceptive through median had two times (AOR=2.103; 95% CI 1.207, 3.664) more likely to use contraceptive methods than those not heard contraceptive through media. Conclusion and recommendation The factors affecting use of contraceptive method among adolescent women were educational level, schooling, marital status, age, being informed about contraceptive, health facility visit, duration of stay at their residence, having partner and hearing of contraceptive use message through media. This study recommends that in order to increase use of contraceptive method among adolescent women, interventions should continue like the promotion of contraceptive methods through media. The guanosine-based second messengers (p)ppGpp and c-di-GMP are key players of the physiological regulation of the Gram-positive model organism Bacillus subtilis. Their regulatory spectrum ranges from key metabolic processes over motility to biofilm formation. Here we review our mechanistic knowledge on their synthesis and degradation in response to environmental and stress signals as well as what is known on their cellular effectors and targets. Moreover, we discuss open questions and our gaps in knowledge on these two important second messengers.Bacteria employ noncoding RNAs to maintain cellular physiology, adapt global gene expression to fluctuating environments, sense nutrients, coordinate their interaction with companion microbes and host cells, and protect themselves against bacteriophages. OUL232 chemical structure While bacterial RNA research has made fundamental contributions to biomedicine and biotechnology, the bulk of our knowledge of RNA biology stems from the study of a handful of aerobic model species. In comparison, RNA research is lagging in many medically relevant obligate anaerobic species, in particular the numerous commensal bacteria comprising our gut microbiota. This review presents a guide to RNA-based regulatory mechanisms in the phylum Bacteroidetes, focusing on the most abundant bacterial genus in the human gut, Bacteroides spp. This includes recent case reports on riboswitches, an mRNA leader, cis- and trans-encoded small RNAs (sRNAs) in Bacteroides spp., and a survey of CRISPR-Cas systems across Bacteroidetes. Recent work from our laboratory now suggests the existence of hundreds of noncoding RNA candidates in Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron, the emerging model organism for functional microbiota research. Based on these collective observations, we predict mechanistic and functional commonalities and differences between Bacteroides sRNAs and those of other model bacteria, and outline open questions and tools needed to boost Bacteroidetes RNA research.Although some progress has been achieved in understanding certain aspects of the allergenic mechanism of animal lipocalins, they still remain largely enigmatic. One possibility to unravel this property is to investigate their interaction with components of the immune system. Since these components are highly complex we intended to use a high-throughput technology for this purpose. Therefore, we used phage-display of a random peptide library for panning against the dog allergen Can f 1. By this method we identified a Can f 1 binding peptide corresponding to the antigen-binding site of a putative γδT-cell receptor. Additional biochemical investigations confirmed this interaction.Finding the optimal signal timing strategy is a difficult task for the problem of large-scale traffic signal control (TSC). Multiagent reinforcement learning (MARL) is a promising method to solve this problem. However, there is still room for improvement in extending to large-scale problems and modeling the behaviors of other agents for each individual agent. In this article, a new MARL, called cooperative double Q -learning (Co-DQL), is proposed, which has several prominent features. It uses a highly scalable independent double Q -learning method based on double estimators and the upper confidence bound (UCB) policy, which can eliminate the over-estimation problem existing in traditional independent Q -learning while ensuring exploration. It uses mean-field approximation to model the interaction among agents, thereby making agents learn a better cooperative strategy. In order to improve the stability and robustness of the learning process, we introduce a new reward allocation mechanism and a local state sharing method. In addition, we analyze the convergence properties of the proposed algorithm. Co-DQL is applied to TSC and tested on various traffic flow scenarios of TSC simulators. The results show that Co-DQL outperforms the state-of-the-art decentralized MARL algorithms in terms of multiple traffic metrics. In current studies of safety assessment for complex systems with the evidential reasoning (ER) rule, the evidence reliability is generally given by experts, which makes the observation data by sensors ignored. However, sensors are inevitably affected by such various uncertainties as perturbations in engineering practice, which can reduce their quality and tracking ability. As such, the observation data may become unreliable, and the modeling accuracy of the ER rule is decreased. In this article, a new ER rule-based safety assessment method with sensor reliability for complex systems is proposed, where sensor reliability and perturbation are considered. The coefficient of the variation-based weighting (CVBW) method is employed to obtain sensor weight. The sensor reliability is calculated by static reliability and dynamic reliability, which are determined by experts and the distance-based method, respectively. The perturbation is quantified as a bounded parameter defined as the perturbation factor, which is used to describe uncertainties and aggregate static reliability and dynamic reliability. The performance analysis of safety assessment is conducted to demonstrate the rationality of perturbation and position poor sensors, followed by a safety assessment algorithm. A case study is carried out to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
