Man Down Alarms
Man down alarms (also called ‘worker down’) are an essential component of lone worker solutions that enable lone workers to alert colleagues and the emergency services for immediate assistance if they have been injured or incapacitated. Lone workers who may need this feature include those who work in high risk industries, such as construction, or have medical conditions such as heart problems or epilepsy that can cause them to become immobilised during their working day.
Man Down alerts are triggered when a device sensor detects that the lone worker has not moved or has fallen. This can occur when a person loses consciousness, if they slip and fall or even if their movements are restricted by an injury. TWIG lone worker devices that support this feature can trigger an alarm based on 4 independent alert triggers including device orientation, non-movement, free fall and impact. lone worker safety The ARC is alerted by an alarm message indicating that the user has fallen or been immobilised and the user is advised to press the help call button to request assistance.
geofencing Once the alert has been sent it is transmitted to the lone worker’s emergency contacts, as defined by the lone worker.
