Category A1 Rules For Motorcyclists

The rules for category a1 apply to those who wish to ride small motorcycles. These motorcycles have capacity of cylinders up to 35 kW. They are not derived directly from vehicles that have more than double their power.

Open category drone operations are split into three subcategories: A1 to A3. You can fly drones using the class label C0 or the A1 in the subcategory A1 (flying over people) up until January 2024.

A1

Category A1 is the first of three drone categories subject to the control of EASA. It is applicable to aircraft that are up to the maximum takeoff mass (MTOM), which is 25 kilograms. It requires a flight plan as well as a flight log along with an identification system for remotes and a geoawareness system. The drone must also be within sight of the pilot at all at all times. It is forbidden to fly over large groups of people or in areas that are used for industrial, commercial or recreational reasons. The drone must also stay less than 120 meters above the ground level.

If you are planning to fly a drone which isn't included in the categories above, you'll require a special licence from the Civil Aviation Authority. This is referred to as an operational authorization. Here you can learn more about how to apply.

Candidates for a category A1 licence must have at least 16 years of experience riding two-wheeled motor vehicles. They must also complete compulsory basic training and pass an exam in theory and a practical test. Moreover, they must possess an official medical certificate.

A1 license holders are permitted to drive mopeds with a cylinder capacity of no greater than 1250 cc and a power-to-weight ratio that is not greater than 0.01 kW/kg. They are also able to drive motorcycles with a cylinder capacity of no greater than 125cc as in addition to trikes and quad bikes.

The category A1 driving license is designed to provide easier access to the next category, which allows licence holders to drive vehicles with a maximum mass of up to 35 kW. This lets you gain experience driving less powerful vehicles prior to transitioning to higher licence categories.

Until January 1, 2024, current drones that don't have a CE mark can be flown in the subcategory A1. prawo jazdy kategorii a1 is because they are thought to be low risk and do not pose a significant risk to the public. However, they must remain at 150 meters from buildings, industry and recreational areas. They are also not allowed to fly over crowds, or within 5 km of airports or airfields.

A2

You could be eligible for an A1 license if you have completed your CBT and are looking to obtain an A1 motorcycle licence. This allows you to drive a small motorcycle without a sidecar. It must have the capacity of cylinders up to 125cc and a power output of up to 11kW. This licence is only available to those who are at least 16 years old. You can learn more about the various categories and their regulations by looking over your driving license information online.

You can also fly drones that have an maximum weight of 4kg in the A2 category However, they must be kept at a safe distance from people during take-off and landing. The drones must remain at least 30m horizontally away from people in low-speed mode or 5m if they are not in use. You must also pass the A2 Certificate of Competence (A2 CofC) exam to fly in this category.

If you plan to fly larger drones, you will require an operator's permit specific to a specific category that requires you to complete the General VLOS Certificate (GVC) training and flight evaluation, in addition to preparing an Operations Manual. The application process for a specific category permit is like that of a PfCO and you can learn more about the requirements by reading our comprehensive guide.

A2 also enables you to operate transitional drones which aren't CE marked, but which have been modified to reduce the risk of collisions with other people. These drones will only be allowed to be flown in A2 up until the end of 2022. After that, they'll need to be in compliance with the A3 regulations.

The A1 and A2 categories are designed to assist you in becoming a safe and confident motorcyclist. The amount of lessons you need will depend on your capability and the progress you are making in learning, however, you must complete a certain amount of special rides. These include a minimum of five lessons on country roads as well as four on highways, and three at dawn or in darkness.

A3

This category allows flights with drones having a maximum take-off mass of up to 25kg. This is a safer operation, but strict precautions must still be taken to prevent incidents. A distance of safety of 150 meters must be maintained from residential, commercial, industrial and recreational areas. This is also a requirement for drones to have a remote identification system and geoawareness systems.

This tier is also divided into sub-categories, A1, A2 or A3. The A1 subcategory allows flights over uninvolved persons and is reserved for drones with a Class identification label C0 or C1. It requires a minimum of 30 meters from third parties when flying at a height of flight 5 meters in slow flight mode.

Drones with a Class identification label C2 are able to be operated in subcategory A2 in the event that the drone is in compliance with the size requirements and the remote pilot is able to pass an additional theoretical knowledge exam. This exam is designed to test the remote pilot's understanding of the technical and operational mitigations to reduce the dangers of flying larger drones (class C2, less than 4kg mass) close to people. The certificate of ability to fly Category A2 is granted after successful completion of this test.

Due to the limited supply of certified drones in this category There are transitional arrangements that allow non-certified "legacy drones to be operated in categories A1 and A2 for two years following the new EU regulations are in the market. The drones of the past cannot be intentionally flown above people and must be operated by an A2 CofC.

To operate drones in this category, you must pass the regular online flyer ID test and then pass an additional theoretical test. Additionally, you must declare that you have gained some experience of your drone and pass a written declaration of competence. These requirements are similar to the driving licence model whereby those who first get a licence for a less powerful vehicle category can be granted access to an upgrade to a higher category.

A4

The DOH is currently preparing detailed guidelines that will be used in category A4. These will be consistent with other procedures and will include specifics such as the number of dressing changes each day. These guidelines will be presented to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infections, (IATF-EID) as well as the DOH National Immunization Technical Advisory Group. The IATF EID and the DOH National Immunization Technical Advisory Group will review and approve these guidelines prior to their being finalized.

In this category, drones with an identification label for class C0 and C1 are allowed to fly within a minimum distance of 50 meters of uninvolved people. This is a very low-risk category, but strict precautions must still be taken to mitigate incidents. Drones classified as A1 or A2 are required to pass an additional theoretical knowledge test in order to operate in this subcategory.

This examination aims to assess the level of knowledge about the risks associated with flying drones near people. The certificate of competence is issued after successful completion of this test. The pilot must maintain at least 30 meters from any person who is not involved or 5 metres if flying in a slow flight mode.

You must take some time to pass the theory test, and then the practical test. It is contingent on your age, skills and the level of learning. But, at least 12 lessons lasting 90 minutes should be completed.

In these classes, you will familiarize yourself with your vehicle and traffic rules. Additionally, you will receive tips on how to operate your vehicle in difficult situations. In addition to the mandatory classes, you are required to attend a specified number of special rides.

The new category E integrates classes A1 (retail) and class A2 (financial and professional services) Class B1 (offices), class A4 (restaurants/cafes) and classes A5 and B5 (hot food takeaway). It also includes medical and health-related uses, creches and nurseries and indoor recreation facilities. The new licensing system is expected to streamline and cut costs. The landlords will be able to make use of their properties in ways they are not currently permitted.
