Conclusively, a direct impact of diabetic plasma on spermatozoa is revealed with overexpression of OS as the underlying mechanism. These findings suggested that it is strongly recommended to control clinically the glycaemic level and OS in diabetic patients for the maintenance of male fertility. The association of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in heat shock protein 90 (HSP90) genes with idiopathic male infertility remains unclear. In this study, the five selected SNPs in HSP90AA1 namely rs10133307, rs10873531, rs11547523, rs11621560 and rs7145597 were genotyped in 116 idiopathic infertile males and 185 ethnically matched fertile males using the Sequenom MassARRAY assay. The role of these SNPs in male infertility was then studied using multiple genetic models. We observed that genotype distribution (p = .028) and allelic frequency (p = .032) of rs11547523 were significantly different between the infertile and fertile groups. In particular, A genotype of rs11547523 was associated with an increased risk of infertility in the allele (OR = 2.508, p = .048), dominant (OR = 2.733, p = .030) and additive models (OR = 0.366, p = .031). However, there were no significant differences in semen parameters including seminal volume (p = .452), sperm concentration (p = .727), total sperm number (p = .588), motility (p = .282) and morphology (p = .975) between A and A/G genotypes of rs11547523. These results indicate that rs11547523 in HSP90AA1 may be associated with idiopathic male infertility in the Chinese population. The outcome of this study contributes to the development of the diagnosis of male infertility.Duplication of vas deferens is a very rare anomaly which two vasa deferentia are found in the spermatic cord. It can be recognised during autopsy or cadaveric dissection and also several surgical procedures which require spermatic cord dissection including inguinal hernia repair, orchiopexy, vasectomy, varicocelectomy, vasectomy reversal and radical prostatectomy. Recognition of the duplicated vas deferens is important to avoid surgical complications such as an unsuccessful vasectomy or transection of the vas. It was reported in only three cadavers and 31 patients since 1959. In this study, we describe a new case of duplicated vas deferens found incidentally during routine inguinal hernia repair in a 66-year-old patient. We also review all previously reported cases in the literature to draw attention to this rare but important anomaly.Ligustri Lucidi Fructus (LLF) is the dried and mature fruit of Ligubtrum lucidum Ait., which has the effect of nourishing the liver and kidney, brightening the eyes and promoting the growth of black hair. Wine-processed LLF is commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine; however, the processing mechanisms are still unclear. Herein, a system data acquisition and mining strategy was designed to investigate the chemical profile differences between the raw and wine-processed LLF, based on high-performance liquid chromatography-Orbitrap high resolution mass spectrometry coupled with multivariate statistical analysis including principal component analysis and partial least square analysis. Afterwars, a total of 55 components were found to be the main contributors to the significant difference between raw and wine-processed LLF by comparison with chromatographic behaviors, intact precursor ions, and characteristic MS fragmentation patterns. In addition, 10 main constituents of raw and wine-processed LLF were simultaneously determined by UHPLC-MS/MS for analyzing the content variations. Some structural transformation mechanisms during wine processing were deduced from the results. The results may provide a scientific foundation for deeply elucidating the wine-processing mechanism of LLF.This study aimed to evaluate the effect of N-acetyl cysteine on the male reproductive system and consensus and classification of data found from previous studies. It is undeniable that N-acetyl cysteine as a powerful antioxidant compound can medicate many diseases such as cardiovascular, kidney, liver and reproductive system disorders. With the increasing environmental pollution that has a direct adverse effect on male fertility, the use of this compound is able to positively function on human fertility health. SB216763 In this study, we have been collected the main data of scientific articles (1994-2020) about N-acetyl cysteine effects. By searching in the scientific databases of PubMed, Google Scholar, Science Direct, Wiley and Web of Science, related articles were extracted. As a result, all observations have confirmed that N-acetyl cysteine can improve and normalise the spermatogenesis in the male reproduction system.Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) have become one of the most common nanomaterials in various commercial products; however, its potential toxicity to the male reproductive system and the possible mechanisms remains unknown. Our study aimed to investigate the toxicity of silver nanoparticle (AgNPs) in the testis and to elucidate its possible mechanisms. We exposed 6-week-old Balb/c male mice to AgNP daily [0 (control), 30 or 125 mg/kg BW] for 90 days. The histological structure, sperm production and levels of reproductive hormones were assessed; we also observed apoptotic cell nuclei and the ultrastructural characteristics of the testis. Microarray analyses were used to identify differentially expressed genes, and dysregulated apoptosis-related genes and protein were also analysed. Our results indicated that 125 mg/kg AgNP changed testis morphology and decreased sperm production. AgNP treatment also increased apoptosis of germ cells and induced the presence of swollen or dissolved mitochondria in the testis. Microarray analysis showed the expression of 383 genes was altered by AgNP treatment, with apoptosis-related genes showing the greatest changes. Furthermore, we verified dysregulated apoptosis-related genes and proteins (caspase3 and Myc). These results demonstrated that AgNP induced changes of testis morphology, sperm production and apoptosis-related genes, suggested this process maybe associated with apoptosis. In inguinal adipose tissue, beige adipocytes are interspersed among white adipocytes and in close communication with dynamic populations of immune cells. Recent data have demonstrated that anti-inflammatory macrophages (M2) increase thermogenic activity of beige adipocytes, although the mechanism is currently under debate. ILC2, cells via secretion, of methionine enkephalin peptide were found to be able to increase beige thermogenesis. Knights et al. have recently generated a whole-body knock-out of KLF3 (KLF3-/-) to explore its contribution to thermogenesis and weight gain in a diet-induced obesity animal model.
