We show that there are sex differences in food choice under basal circumstances, and that ES increases fat intake in females when exposed to a mild acute stressor. Moreover, ES impacts the physiologic response to the fcHFHS and the brain circuits regulating food intake in sex-specific manner. Our data highlight sex-specific effects of ES on metabolic functioning and food choice.

Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) is a heterogeneous condition mainly characterised by bone fragility; extra-skeletal features in OI include blue sclerae, dentinogenesis imperfecta, skin laxity and joint hyper-extensibility. Most patients with OI are thought to have a low bone mass but contrary to expectations there are certain forms of OI with high bone mass which this study explores in further detail.

A cohort of n=6 individuals with pathogenic variants in

and the C-propeptide cleavage variants in

were included in this study. Detailed clinical and radiological phenotyping was done and correlated with genotype to identify patterns of clinical presentation and fracture history in this cohort of patients. This data was compared to previously reported literature in this group.

2 patients with

and 4 patients with pathogenic variants in C-propeptide region in

were deep-phenotyped as part of this study and 1 patient with C-propeptide variant in

, showed low bone mineral density. In those with an elevated bone mineral density, this became even more apparent on bisphosphonate therapy. Patients in this cohort had variable clinical presentation ranging from antenatal presentation to more of an insidious course resulting in later confirmation of genetic diagnosis up to 19years of age.

Patients with pathogenic variants in the C-propeptide region of

and

appear to have a high bone mass phenotype with increased sensitivity to bisphosphonate therapy. It is important to closely monitor patients with these genotypes to assess their response to therapy and tailor their treatment regime accordingly.

Patients with pathogenic variants in the C-propeptide region of COL1A1/A2 and BMP1 appear to have a high bone mass phenotype with increased sensitivity to bisphosphonate therapy. It is important to closely monitor patients with these genotypes to assess their response to therapy and tailor their treatment regime accordingly.Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory disease that outbreaks since December 2019 and spread globally. Various methods have been used to treat SARS-CoV-2 that is generally based on the information obtained from the therapeutic approaches used for SARS-COV and MERS patients. buy Rapamycin In this article, we introduce a theoretical strategy in which a two-domain fusion protein presents the virus to the immune system. This fusion protein contains a viral-binding domain such as the ACE2 domain and a domain such as the hepatitis B antigen that has previously been exposed to the immune system. This two-domain fusion protein, could be called "virus-presenting fusion protein", would attach to the virus spike protein via the ACE2 domain while the hepatitis B antigen would be bound by anti-hepatitis B antibodies facilitating the opsonization and presentation of the virus to the immune system. We believe that this virus-presenting fusion protein will accelerate the immune response to the SARS-CoV-2 virus.Rapid cryopreservation of biological specimens is the gold standard for visualizing cellular structures in their true structural context. However, current commercial cryo-fluorescence microscopes are limited to low resolutions. To fill this gap, we have developed cryoSIM, a microscope for 3D super-resolution fluorescence cryo-imaging for correlation with cryo-electron microscopy or cryo-soft X-ray tomography. We provide the full instructions for replicating the instrument mostly from off-the-shelf components and accessible, user-friendly, open-source Python control software. Therefore, cryoSIM democratizes the ability to detect molecules using super-resolution fluorescence imaging of cryopreserved specimens for correlation with their cellular ultrastructure.Tunable narrowband spectral filtering across arbitrary optical wavebands is highly desirable in a plethora of applications, from chemical sensing and hyperspectral imaging to infrared astronomy. Yet, the ability to reconfigure the optical properties, with full reversibility, of a solid-state large-area narrowband filter remains elusive. Existing solutions require either moving parts, have slow response times, or provide limited spectral coverage. Here, we demonstrate a 1-inch diameter continuously tunable, fully reversible, all-solid-state, narrowband phase-change metasurface filter based on a GeSbTe-225 (GST)-embedded plasmonic nanohole array. The passband of the presented device is ∼ 74 n m with ∼ 70 % transmittance and operates across the 3-5 µm thermal imaging waveband. Continuous, reconfigurable tuning is achieved by exploiting intermediate GST phases via optical switching with a single nanosecond laser pulse, and material stability is verified through multiple switching cycles. We further demonstrate multispectral thermal imaging in the mid-wave infrared using our active phase-change metasurfaces. Our results pave the way for highly functional, reduced power, compact hyperspectral imaging systems and customizable optical filters for real-world system integration.[This corrects the article DOI 10.1117/1.JMI.8.3.033504.].Purpose Radiologists sometimes fail to report clearly visible, clinically significant findings. Eye tracking can provide insight into the causes of such errors. Approach We tracked eye movements of 17 radiologists, searching for masses in 80 mammograms (60 with masses). Results Errors were classified using the Kundel et al. (1978) taxonomy search errors (target never fixated), recognition errors (fixated 500    ms ). Error proportions replicated Krupinski (1996) search 25%, recognition 25%, and decision 50%. Interestingly, we found few differences between experts and residents in accuracy or eye movement metrics. Error categorization depends on the definition of the useful field of view (UFOV) around fixation. We explored different UFOV definitions, based on targeting saccades and search saccades. Targeting saccades averaged slightly longer than search saccades. Of most interest, we found that the probability that the eyes would move to the target on the next saccade or even on one of the next three saccades was strikingly low ( ∼ 33 % , even when the eyes were less then 2    deg from the target).
