The levels of urinary miR-4824 abruptly decreased after femoral head collapse (ARCO stage III and IV). Urinary miR-144 was the only marker that correlated with lesion size.

The levels of urinary miRNAs are valuable biomarkers for idiopathic ONFH. Given the noninvasive nature of this test, it is potentially useful for diagnosis and monitoring of idiopathic ONFH progression.

This article gives novel methods for ONFH diagnosis and progression monitoring in a convenient and non-invasive way.

To compare the clinical efficacy, complications, and reoperation rates among three major treatments for lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) decompression, fusion, and interspinous process device (IPD), using a Bayesian network meta-analysis.

Databases including Pubmed, Embase, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), and Web of Science were used for the literature search. Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) with three treatment methods were reviewed and included in the study. R software (version 3.6.0), Stata (version 14.0), and Review Manager (version 5.3) were used to perform data analysis.

A total of 10 RCTs involving 1254 patients were enrolled in the present study and each study met an acceptable quality according to our quality assessment described later. In direct comparison, IPD exhibited a higher incidence of reoperation than fusion (OR=2.93, CI 1.07-8.02). In indirect comparison, the rank of VAS leg (from best to worst) was as follows IPD (64%)>decompression (25%)>fusion olden standard treatment for LSS is still controversial. In this network meta-analysis, our results demonstrate that both decompression and IPD obtain satisfactory clinical effects for LSS. IPD is accompanied with a low incidence of complications, however, its high rate of reoperation should be acknowledged with discretion.

For the treatment of LSS, several procedures including decompression, fusion, and IPD have been reported. However, each method has its own advantages and disadvantages. To date, the golden standard treatment for LSS is still controversial. In this network meta-analysis, our results demonstrate that both decompression and IPD obtain satisfactory clinical effects for LSS. IPD is accompanied with a low incidence of complications, however, its high rate of reoperation should be acknowledged with discretion.

To evaluate change in bone mineral density (BMD) during development of knee osteoarthritis (OA) in elderly Chinese community residents. Further, to monitor disease progression by recording speed of sound (SOS), one parameter of BMD provided by quantitative ultrasound measurement.

A total of 4173 community residents of the Chinese mainland were organized to complete questionnaires and relevant measurements, including anthropometry, radiology and quantitative ultrasound (QUS). SOS measurements of the distal radius were acquired using QUS measurements. check details The Kellgren-Lawrence (KL) grade of knee OA was evaluated by two experienced radiographers using X-rays. Finally, a general linear models analysis was performed to determine potential relationships. Further, the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC AUC) was applied to assess the distinction model.

The SOS score in the OA group was significantly lower than that in the control group (

0.001). However, after adjustment for age and bo communities residents with knee OA could alert disease progression involvement by an easily accessible method, and help early referral to orthopedist consultation for further examination and treatment.

In the present study, the relationship between OA and BMD had established by SOS. The results suggested that close monitoring of SOS in elderly Chinese communities residents with knee OA could alert disease progression involvement by an easily accessible method, and help early referral to orthopedist consultation for further examination and treatment.

Restoring the shoulder function is a crucial demand of patients with rotator cuff (RC) tears. Most preclinical studies only focused on biological and mechanical measurements. Functional assessment was less investigated in the preclinical studies. This study aims to review the literature of shoulder function in animal models for RC tears and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of different shoulder functional assessments and animal models.

A literature search for studies used RC tear animal models to evaluate changes in shoulder function was performed. We searched databases of PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Scopus from inception to September 2019. Animal species, functional parameters, injury and repair types, and study durations were summarised. Cluster analyses were then used to separate animal models with different levels of injury and timings of repair. The reliability and clinical relevance of the included assessments and animal models were then discussed.

Fourteen animal studies that relatedclinical researches and promote translation of preclinical interventions into clinical practices.

Using more clinically relevant animal models and assessments for shoulder function identified in this review may help to investigate the value of preclinical researches and promote translation of preclinical interventions into clinical practices.

To compare the long-term prognosis of patients with different types of grafts used in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR).

PubMed, Ovid (MEDLINE and Embase) and the Cochrane library were searched up to Feb 2020. Eligible studies about different grafts in ACLR were searched for identifying the evidence comparing the long-term (mean or median follow-up time or the general description of the follow-up time≥2 years) knee outcomes of different grafts for ACLR. The final included articles and evaluation criteria were confirmed by the authors and senior clinicians to ensure the validity of the included articles. Lysholm score, the results of pivot shift test, Lachman test and International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) evaluation were selected as prognostic indicators. A Bayesian network meta-analysis was conducted.

A total of 30 articles were included in our network meta-analysis. Finally, we found that artificial graft or augmentation can provide the not bad Lysholm score but the worse result of IKDC evaluation for patients with ACLR compared with other types of grafts.
