To report clinical outcomes of retropupillary iris-suture-fixated rigid intraocular lens (IFIOL) SETTING Tertiary care ophthalmic hospital DESIGN Retrospective study METHODS This study included all eyes undergoing IFIOL with a minimum follow-up of 6months between April 2017 and January 2019. Patients with preexisting anterior or posterior segment pathologies causing defective vision, uveitis or history of previous intraocular surgeries with exception of cataract surgery were excluded from the study. Data were retrieved from electronic medical records, and we documented demographics, history, position of cataractous lens or IOL, primary/secondary surgery and its complications. Postoperative visual acuity, pupillary response, diplopia, centration of IOL, inflammation were also recorded at the baseline visit and at 1month, 3months and 6months postoperatively.
One hundred and ten eyes of 110 patients that underwent IFIOL were evaluated. Twenty-two patients (20%) underwent primary IFIOL, whereas 67 (60.9%) patients had secondary IFIOL. In 18 patients (16.36%), IFIOL was done to reposition decentered/dislocated IOLs. At the final follow-up, there was a significant improvement in corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA) with 87 patients (79.09%) achieving CDVA of 6/12 or better. IFIOL was stable and centered in 101 eyes (91.81%). Two patients (1.81%) had intraoperative complications. Postoperative iritis was seen in 7 patients (6.36%), and 4 patients (3.63%) had rise in IOP.
This is a safe, reliable, reproducible technique for aphakia rehabilitation and decentered IOL stabilization with good clinical outcome, especially in a limited resource setting.

Anomalous systemic arterial supply to the basal segment of the lung (ABLL) is a relatively rare congenital anomaly characterized by aberrant systemic arterial blood flow to the basal segment of the lung. We experienced a rare presentation of ABLL, in which a giant aberrant artery with the same dimensions as that of the descending aorta flowed from the celiac artery to left lower lobe.
An otherwise healthy 42-year-old man was referred to our department due to an abnormal chest X-ray. Enhanced computed tomography revealed a huge and winding aberrant artery with mural thrombus originating from the celiac artery and perfusing into the left lower lobe. We diagnosed giant ABLL and considered possible concomitant pulmonary arteriovenous fistula. The diameter of the aberrant artery was > 30mm and high-pressure flow was assumed; therefore, we performed staged resection of the left lower lobectomy including division of the aberrant artery at the pulmonary ligament and subsequent embolization of the remnant arterial flow uneventfully. Pathologically, the aberrant artery was abundant with elastic fibers, and dissections of the tunica media and mural thrombus were observed; however, arteriovenous fistula was not confirmed. At 6 postoperative months, enhanced computed tomography showed the aberrant artery to be completely occluded without any symptoms.
We present a case of ABLL that was successfully managed by surgical resection of the left lower lobe with most of the giant aberrant artery and subsequent embolization of the remnant portion. Our study demonstrates that a staged surgical therapy is an acceptable approach for ABLL in case of complication with a giant aberrant artery.

Among the millions of affected individuals, patients with hypertrophic (HCM), dilated (DCM), or left ventricular non-compaction (LVNC) cardiomyopathy can experience morphologic changes of the heart which lead to sudden death in the most detrimental cases. TNNC1, the gene that codes for cardiac troponin C (cTnC), is a sarcomere gene associated with cardiomyopathies in which probands exhibit young age of presentation and high death, transplant or ventricular fibrillation events relative to TNNT2 and TNNI3 probands. Using GnomAD, ClinVar, UniProt and PhosphoSitePlus databases and published literature, an extensive list to date of identified genetic variants in TNNC1 and post-translational modifications (PTMs) in cTnC was compiled. Additionally, a recent cryo-EM structure of the cardiac thin filament regulatory unit was used to localize each functionally studied amino acid variant and each PTM (acetylation, glycation, s-nitrosylation, phosphorylation) in the structure of cTnC. TNNC1 has a large number of variants (> 100) relative to other genes of the same transcript size. Surprisingly, the mapped variant amino acids and PTMs are distributed throughout the cTnC structure. The Ae. albopictus was identified using sequencing and phylogenetic analyses of COXI, CYTB and ITS2 genes. The characterization of synthesized nanostructures was performed through Zetasizer, UV-VIS spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The mosquito larvae were exposed to varying concentration of nanostructures and insecticides, and their percentage mortality was evaluated at different time intervals of 24 h and 48 h exposure. The highest efficacy was observed in zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) and polymeric nanocapsules FG-Cur E-III (LC50 = 0.24 mg/L, LC90 = 0.6 mg/L) and (LC50 = 3.8 mg/L, LC90 = 9.33 mg/L), respectively, after 24 h; while (LC50 = 0.18 mg/L, LC90 = 0.43 mg/L) and (LC50 = 1.
