PUE can significantly decrease systolic and diastolic blood pressure, long-term administration of PUE resulted in a mild reduction of thickness and inner diameter of carotid artery. PUE ameliorate NE-response and vascular remodeling mainly through inhibiting TRPCs channel activities of VSMC.

PUE can ameliorate biomechanical remodeling of carotid arteries through inhibiting TRPCs channel activities of VSMC in spontaneously hypertensive rats.

Research misconduct is a global concern in biomedical science. There are no comprehensive data regarding the perception and situation of scientific misconduct among the Iranian medical faculty members. We conducted a nationwide survey to assess the research misconduct among the medical faculty members in Iran.

We used the Persian version of the research misconduct questionnaire (PRMQ) on the Google Forms platform. We sent the survey link to a systematic random sample of medical faculty members in Iran (N = 4986). Descriptive analyses were performed on the individual items of the PRMQ, with frequencies and percentages for categorical and Likert-type response items, and means and standard deviation (S.D.) for continuous variables. Chi-square analysis was conducted to test hypotheses examining differences in the frequency of responses related to factors influencing misconduct. We also defined four tenure categories (TC) based on the working years of the participants as tenured faculty members. All the analyssearch misconduct needs to be actively addressed among the medical faculty members. Making policies with a focus on boosting awareness regarding the occasions of scientific misconduct and its management seems to be indispensable in the future in Iran.

The Italian Spine Youth Quality of Life (ISYQOL) questionnaire is used to evaluate health-related quality of life in adolescents with Idiopathic Scoliosis. The study aimed to undertake the process of cultural adaptation of the ISYQOL questionnaire into Simplified Chinese.

Translate from Italian into Simplified Chinese. It involved 138 adolescents whose Cobb angle ranged between 20 and 40 degrees, 50 wearing the brace and 88 not wearing the brace. Statistical analysis calculated the reliability, floor effects, and ceiling effects of the ISYQOL. After that, construct validity was measured by analyzing the ISYQOL relationship Scoliosis Research Society-22 patient Questionnaire (SRS-22).

There were no floor or ceiling effects in the ISYQOL questionnaire. Cronbach's alpha coefficient evaluated for Internal consistency was 0.75 in the no-treated group and 0.88 in the brace-treated group. Intraclass correlation coefficients assessed with the use of the test-retest method were 0.72 in the no-treated group and 0.80 in the brace-treated group. A strong relationship exists between the ISYQOL measure and SRS-22 scores (rho = 0.62; p < 0.01), reflecting the high validity of the questionnaires. Both ISYQOL and SRS-22 scores showed no statistical difference between groups wearing and not wearing the brace (p > 0.05).

Trans-cultural validation in Chinses language showed the reliability and validity of the ISYQOL.

Epiregulin (EREG) is an important component of EGF and was demonstrated to promote the osteo/dentinogenic differentiation of stem cells from dental apical papilla (SCAPs). Whether EREG can stimulate the osteo/dentinogenic differentiation of dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) in inflammatory environment is not clear. The purpose of the present study is to investigate the role of EREG on the osteo/dentinogenic differentiation ability of DPSCs in inflammatory environment.

DPSCs were isolated from human third molars. Short hairpin RNAs (shRNAs) were used to knock down EREG expression in DPSCs. Recombinant human EREG (rhEREG) protein was used in the rescue experiment. TNF-α was employed to mimic the inflammatory environment in vitro. Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) staining, Alizarin red staining, quantitative calcium analysis, and real-time RT-PCR were performed to detect osteo/dentinogenic differentiation markers and related signalling pathways under normal and inflammatory conditions.

EREG depletion promoted the Analling pathways. Under inflammatory environment, EREG depletion enhanced osteo/dentinogenic differentiation potential of DPSCs by improving the expression of p-p38 MAPK and p-Erk.

Evaluation of vitamin D supplementation on ovarian reserve in women with diminished ovarian reserve and vitamin D deficiency.

The study is a before-and-after intervention study that was performed on women with diminished ovarian reserve referred to Shahid Mofteh Clinic in Yasuj, Iran. Eligible women were prescribed vitamin D tablets at a dose of 50,000 units weekly for up to 3 months. Serum levels of vitamin D and AMH were evaluated at the end of 3 months. Significance level was also considered P ≤ 0.05.

Our results have been showed there was a statistically significant difference in vitamin D levels of participants before [12.1(6.5)] and after [26(9.15)] the intervention (P < 0.001). Moreover, there was a statistically significant difference in serum AMH levels of participants before [0.50(0.44)] and after [0.79(0.15)] the intervention (P=0.02 ).

In conclusion, the results of the current study support a possible favorable effect of vitamin D on increase AMH expression by acting on the AMH gene promoter. Therefore, it is possible that vitamin D increases AMH levels without changing the antral follicle count/ovarian reserve.

Prescribing error represent a significant source of preventable harm to patients. Prescribing errors at discharge, including omission of pre-admission medications (PAM), are particularly harmful as they frequently propagate following discharge. This study assesses the impact of an educational intervention and introduction of an electronic patient record (EPR) in the same centre on omission of PAM at discharge using a pragmatic design. Grazoprevir A survey of newly qualified doctors is used to contextualise findings.

Discharge prescriptions and discharge summaries were reviewed at discharge, and compared to admission medicine lists, using a paper-based chart system. Discrepancies were noted, using Health Information and Quality Authority guidelines for discharge prescribing. An educational intervention was conducted. Further review of discharge prescriptions and discharge summaries took place. Following introduction of an EPR, review of discharge summaries and discharge prescriptions was repeated. A survey was administered to recently qualified doctors (interns), and analysed using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis.
