Nevertheless, Spanish professors brushed their teeth less and showed a higher smoking habit than Latin American professors. We concluded that there were cultural differences between Spanish and Latin American professors. In the present research, Spanish professors showed significantly higher burnout levels, teaching stress, perceived stress, and neuroticism than Latin American professors, and several differences were also found around health behaviours. These differences in perceived stress, teaching stress and burnout syndrome may be due to the habituation process of Latin American professors, and probably are associated with a higher stressful and demanding socio-cultural context.Graphene oxide (GO)-cysteamine-Ag nanoparticles (GCA)-silver nanowire (AgNW) fabricated by depositing GCA over sprayed AgNWs on PET films were proposed for transparent and flexible electrodes, and their optical, electrical, and mechanical properties were analyzed by energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, current-voltage measurements, and bending test. GCA-AgNW electrodes show optical transmittance of >80% at 550 nm and exhibit a high figure-of-merit value of up to 116.13 in the samples with sheet resistances of 20-40 Ω/◻. It was observed that the detrimental oxidation of bare AgNWs over time was considerably decreased, and the mechanical robustness was improved. To apply the layer as an actual electrode in working devices, a Pt/GO/poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate/GCA-AgNW/polyethylene terephthalate structure was fabricated, and resistive switching memory was demonstrated. On the basis of these results, we confirm that the proposed GCA-AgNW layer can be used as transparent and flexible electrode. An all-optical plasmonic sensor platform designed for smartphones based on planar-optical waveguide structures integrated in a polymer chip is reported for the first time. To demonstrate the applicability of the sensor system for biosensing purposes, the detection of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25OHD) in human serum samples using an AuNP-enhanced aptamer-based assay was demonstrated. With the aid of the developed assay sensitivity of 0.752 pixel/nM was achieved for 25OHD concentrations ranging from 0-100 nM. The waveguide structure of the sensor enables miniaturisation and parallelisation, thus, demonstrates the potential for simultaneous detection of various analytes including biomarkers. The entire optical arrangement can be integrated into a single polymer chip which allows for large scale and cost-efficient sensor fabrication. The broad utilization and access of smartphone electronics make the proposed design most attractive for its wider use in lab-on-chip applications.Aerobic and resistance exercise (acute and chronic) independently and collectively induce beneficial responses in the brain that may influence memory function, including an increase in cerebral blood flow, neurogenesis, neuroelectrical alterations, and protein production. However, whether aerobic and resistance exercise improve memory via similar or distinct mechanisms has yet to be fully explained. Here, we review the unique influence of aerobic and resistance exercise on neural modulation, proteins, receptors, and ultimately, episodic memory. Resistance training may optimize neural communication, information processing and memory encoding by affecting the allocation of attentional resources. Moreover, resistance exercise can reduce inflammatory markers associated with neural communication while increasing peripheral and central BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) production. Aerobic training increases hippocampal levels of BDNF and TrkB (Tropomyosin receptor kinase B), protein kinases and glutamatergic proteins. Likewise, both aerobic and anaerobic exercise can increase CREB (cAMP response element-binding protein) phosphorylation. Thus, we suggest that aerobic and resistance exercise may influence episodic memory via similar and, potentially, distinct mechanisms.Data on corneal epithelial and stromal thickness in school-aged children in relation to gender, age, and ocular and growth parameters are limited. In this retrospective study, we analyzed corneal epithelial and stromal thickness measured with the RTVue system (Optovue, Inc., Fremont, CA, USA) in 122 male and 201 female Korean children (mean age 9.59 ± 2.18 years) with myopia. We used simple and multiple regression analysis to establish the relationships between gender, age, refractive status, axial length, anterior chamber depth (ACD), corneal refractive power, white-to-white corneal diameter (WTW), height, and body weight. Age, body weight, height, and central corneal thickness were positively associated with corneal epithelial thickness, whereas WTW was negatively associated. BMS-927711 The multiple regression analysis showed corneal epithelial thickness was affected by sex, body weight, WTW, and central corneal thickness (CCT), while stromal thickness was influenced by age, sex, and WTW. Both corneal epithelial and stromal thickness were significantly greater in male than in female children and were affected by growth. Neither corneal epithelial nor stromal thickness were associated with the severity of myopia, corneal refractive power, or axial length.Multiple modes of interventions are available when implementing an antibiotic stewardship program (ASP), however, their complementarity has not yet been assessed. In a 938-bed hospital, we sequentially implemented four combined modes of interventions over one year, centralized by one infectious diseases specialist (IDS) (1) on-request infectious diseases specialist consulting service (IDSCS), (2) participation in intensive care unit meetings, (3) IDS intervention triggered by microbiological laboratory meetings, and (4) IDS intervention triggered by pharmacist alert. We assessed the complementarity of the different cumulative actions through quantitative and qualitative analysis of all interventions traced in the electronic medical record. We observed a quantitative and qualitative complementarity between interventions directly correlating to a decrease in antibiotic use. Quantitatively, the number of interventions has doubled after implementation of IDS intervention triggered by pharmacist alert. Qualitatively, these kinds of interventions led mainly to de-escalation or stopping of antibiotic therapy (63%) as opposed to on-request IDSCS (32%).
