Further, heavy drinking was related to poorer self-rated health in Black men and depressive symptoms in Latino men, and for Black and Latina women, prior heavy drinking was associated with current depressive symptoms. Findings highlight adverse, behavioral and overall health consequences of a severe recession for men and women of diverse racial/ethnic groups, as well as unique risks for Black and Latino men and women. Findings suggest the need for behavioral health interventions alongside multisector strategies to bolster the labor market and social safety net during severe economic downturns.
Sexual minority women (SMW) are at heightened risk for problematic cannabis use compared to heterosexual women. Social learning theory posits that characteristics of one's cannabis use companions influence problematic use. However, most research on cannabis use among sexual minorities has focused on minority stress and not social learning theory. selleck chemicals llc As such, the current study tested whether characteristics of one's cannabis use companions (gender and sexual orientation) were associated with changes in problematic use among cisgender SMW and non-binary individuals assigned female at birth.
We utilized three waves of data (six-months between waves) from 321 cisgender SMW and sexual minority non-binary individuals assigned female at birth who participated in a larger study and reported using cannabis during at least one wave. We examined the prospective associations between using cannabis with five groups (SMW, sexual minority men, non-binary individuals, heterosexual women, and heterosexual men) and changes in problematic use six-months later. We also examined whether participant gender (cisgender woman vs. non-binary individual) moderated these associations.
Among cisgender SMW and sexual minority non-binary individuals, using cannabis with SMW and non-binary individuals, but not with sexual minority men, heterosexual men, or women, was associated with increases in problematic use six-months later. Gender did not moderate any associations between using cannabis with any group and problematic use.
Consistent with social learning theory, using cannabis with similar others was associated with increases in problematic use among cisgender SMW and sexual minority non-binary individuals. Future research should explore the mechanisms underlying these effects.

The alternative classification scheme, proposed by Klompen and Oliver (1993), has problems of its own most notably paraphyly of the subgenus Pavlovskyella and the controversial grouping together of the subgenera Alectorobius, Antricola, Carios, Chiropterargas, Nothoaspis, Parantricola, Reticulinasus and Subparmatus into the genus Carios. Recent phylogenetic analyses of 18S/28S rRNA sequences and mitochondrial genomes agree with the scheme of Klompen and Oliver (1993), with regard to the paraphyly of Pavlovskyella, placement of Alveonasus, Ogadenus, Proknekalia and Secretargas in the Argasinae and placement of Carios and Chiropterargas in the Ornithodorinae (Mans et al., 2019). The Carios clade and its constituent subgenera remain controhe classification scheme of Mans et al. (2019) so that the subfamily Argasinae now has six genera, Alveonasus, Argas (subgenera Argas and Persicargas), Navis, Ogadenus, Proknekalia and Secretargas, and the subfamily Ornithodorinae has nine genera, Alectorobius, Antricola (subgenera Antricola and Parantricola), Carios, Chiropterargas, Nothoaspis, Ornithodoros (subgenera Microargas, Ornamentum, Ornithodoros, Pavlovskyella and Theriodoros), Otobius, Reticulinasus and Subparmatus (genera indicated in bold).
The main treatments of hemangioma of the tongueare are injection of sclerotherapy, freezing, surgical resection or combined application of the above methods. It is extremely difficult to remove it completely. Even if combined with multiple methods, it is often unable to control its continued growth, and many important physiological functions of the tongue will be affected, resulting in poor quality of life for patients.
To probe into the therapeutic effect of low-temperature plasma on hemangioma of the tongue.
The clinical data of 53 patients with hemangioma of the tongue admitted to our department from July 2013 to July 2019 were retrospectively analyzed and studied.
Low-temperature plasma radiofrequency to treat hemangioma of the tongue might have advantages of simple operation, wide vision, fewer postoperative complications and quick recovery.
The low-temperature plasma system possesses advantages of precise location, light collateral damage, non‑carbonization of the wound surface, light postoperative response, fewer complications and faster recovery. Combined with the endoscopic system with different angles, it can fully expose the surgical field and is especially suitable for the surgical treatment of patients with tumor of the tongue, which is worth popularizing application in clinic.

The present paper describes our experience in surgical treatment of laryngeal ACC, and discuss the effectiveness of conservative surgery.
We retrospectively reviewed the clinical charts of 17 patients with laryngeal ACC treated surgically at the Otolaryngology Unit of Vittorio Veneto Hospital (Italy) from November 1989 to April 2020.
Fourteen patients underwent partial laryngectomy, and three had a total laryngectomy. Five patients (29%) experienced a laryngeal ACC relapse after a disease-free survival of 66.6±50.1months. The distant metastasis rate was 17%. At latest follow-up, two patients had died of distant metastatic disease after 156 and 243months.
Radical surgery for laryngeal ACC does not warrant free margins and even cases with positive deep margins rarely experience any relapsing disease. We recommend that surgical treatment for laryngeal ACC be as conservative as possible.
