ly shorter. This article delineates the theory and framework for an innovative child abuse training program for mandated reporters called 'iLookOut'. iLookOut is an online learning delivery system that utilizes mastery learning and self-determination theory in the Core Training program, along with spaced retrieval and retrieval practice in a follow-up micro-learning program that reinforces learning from the Core Training. A cognitive mapping model provides the structure for documenting and organizing the learning content in both the Core training and the follow-up micro-learning program. The article provides a conceptual framework for designing and implementing effective and efficient online learning programs.

The postpartum period is recognized as a high-risk period for the development of various mood disorders like postpartum depression. Globally, postnatal depression is a serious public health problem that has a negative impact on the mother's health and child development, especially in developing countries. In Ethiopia, even though there are different primary studies conducted on postpartum depression, there is no nationally representative evidence. Phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate Therefore, the aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to estimate the pooled prevalence and associated factors of postpartum depression in Ethiopia.

Published and unpublished articles from various electronic databases and digital libraries were accessed. This systematic review included studies that were conducted on the magnitude and factors associated with postpartum depression among postnatal women in Ethiopia. A random-effect model was used to estimate the pooled magnitude of postpartum depression with a 95% confidence interval (CI). Inverse variountries. Routine screening of mothers in the postpartum period and integrating mental health with maternal health care is highly recommended.

In the current analysis, the prevalence of postpartum depression was high as compared with other developing countries. Routine screening of mothers in the postpartum period and integrating mental health with maternal health care is highly recommended.

Lesser weever fish are saltwater fish that are found on the Mediterranean and European coasts, over sandy and muddy seabed areas, typically around the summer season. These bottom dwellers have envenoming dorsal spines that sting when stepped on. Severe pain is the main symptom. Initial treatment involves wound irrigation, removal of spines if they are visible and immediate hot water immersion (HWI). Tetanus prophylaxis, leg elevation and analgesia are recommended after pain subsides. HWI treatment is described as immersion of the affected area in hot, but not scalding, water to tolerance (upper limit 45 °C) for 30-90 min or until there is significant pain relief. While HWI is an effective therapy for the pain control of marine envenomation, it presents a potential risk of thermal burn injury in the untrained or unsupervised. Here, we present a case of an iatrogenic thermal burn after HWI for the treatment of a weever fish sting.

A 16-year-old girl was referred to our outpatient department with a superficiings from marine animals, both the provider and the patient need to be aware of potential burn injury associated with this treatment.

Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values achieve promising results in treatment response prediction in patients with several types of cancers.

To determine whether ADC values predict neoadjuvant chemoradiation treatment (nCRT) response in patients with locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC).

Forty-four patients with LARC who underwent magnetic resonance imaging scans before and after nCRT followed by delayed surgery were enrolled retrospectively. The sample was distributed as follows responders (R), n = 8; and non-responders (Non-R), n = 36. Three markers of treatment response were considered post-nCRT measures; ΔADC; and Δ%ADC. Statistical analysis included a Wilcoxon test, a Mann-Whitney U test, and a receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis in order to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy for each ADC value marker to differentiate between R and Non-R.

Both minimum and mean ADC values were significantly higher after nCRT in the R group, while non-significant differences between basal and contrRT.

Conventional vitrectomy technique for macular hole surgery has a good outcome in small and medium macular holes, but for very large macular holes (minimum linear diameter higher than 700μm) other techniques were developed aiming to achieve greater rates of closure and visual acuity gain. The purpose of this article is to report the anatomical and functional outcomes of four very large macular hole (MH) cases which have undergone vitrectomy with the pedicle internal limiting membrane (ILM) flap technique.

This is a retrospective series of four patients with large MH who were treated with vitrectomy and the pedicle ILM flap technique. Comprehensive ophthalmologic evaluation was performed before surgery and included ETDRS best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) for MH measures height, minimum linear diameter (MLD) and external base diameter. The particular detail of this technique is related to ILM flap creation. During the peeling, the ILM was not removewith CAAE number 30163520.0.0000.5440 and approved in ethics committee from Ribeirão Preto Medical School Clinics Hospital, University of São Paulo-Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, Brazil (appreciation number 3.948.426 gave the approval).

The present study describes the first Brazilian case series of very large MH treated by the inverted pedicle ILM flap technique. This technique was associated with anatomic and visual improvement in most cases, and represents an alternative therapeutic approach for large macular holes.Trial Registration Project registered in Plataforma Brasil with CAAE number 30163520.0.0000.5440 and approved in ethics committee from Ribeirão Preto Medical School Clinics Hospital, University of São Paulo-Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, Brazil (appreciation number 3.948.426 gave the approval).
