Posting photos reinforced urges to exercise and restrict food intake and anxiety. Editing photos without posting caused an immediate decrease in weight/shape concerns and a delayed decrease in sadness. DISCUSSION Results support a consistent and direct link between posting edited photos and ED risk factors, suggesting that this is not a harmless behavior. Future work should explore the cumulative effects of this link to determine how specific uses of social media contribute to clinically meaningful outcomes. © 2020 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.The effects of green tea (GT) in obese subjects have been evaluated in different studies, but no consensus has been obtained due to the heterogeneity of the results. The dosage, the type of extract, and the duration of the intervention are the main contributors to the heterogeneity of the results. Therefore, the present systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy and dose-response relationship of GT. Several databases were searched from inception to September 2019 to identify clinical trials that examined the influence of GT supplements on obesity indices in humans. Combined results using the random-effects model indicated that body weight (WMD -1.78 kg, 95% CI -2.80, -0.75, p = .001) and body mass index (BMI) (WMD -0.65 kg/m2 , 95% CI -1.04, -0.25, p = .001) did change significantly following GT administration. The reduction in waist circumference (WC) after GT consumption was significant in subjects in trials employing GT ≥800 mg/day (WMD -2.06 cm) and with a treatment duration less then 12 weeks (WMD -2.39 cm). Following the dose-response evaluation, GT intake did alter body weight, with a more important reduction when the GT dosage was less then 500 mg/day and the treatment duration was of 12 weeks. The results of present meta-analysis study support the use of GT for the improvement of obesity indices. Thus, we suggest that the use of GT can be combined with a balanced and healthy diet and regular physical exercise in the management of obese patients. selleck compound © 2020 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.Effective management of acne vulgaris requires accurate assessment. High-frequency ultrasonography (HF-USG) provides an objective and non-invasive evaluation in comparison with naked-eye evaluation or pathological examination. To explore the ultrasonographic features of acne vulgaris and assess the role of HF-USG in the classification of acne. a prospective study was performed in acne patients in the period of August to November 2019. This study was approved by the Medical Ethics Committee of Perking Union Medical College Hospital. The inclusion criteria were lacking topical treatment for one month and systemic therapy for six months before the consultation. The patients were clinically classified in their severity by two experienced dermatologists independently. The severest lesion of each patient examined by HF-USG at 20 MHz and 50 MHz, and then evaluated by two physicians. Statistical analysis used Chi-square and Kappa tests and significance was set at p less then 0.01. This article is protected by copyright. Among the novel approaches to expanding a new workforce, music and the arts show promise for engaging students and trainees. To understand how and why the arts affect attitudes about and engagement with PWD, we examined a service-learning general education undergraduate course centering on music, filmmaking, and dementia. METHODS The undergraduate course curriculum brought students to meet with PWD in dementia care settings, build personalized music playlists, coproduce short films about PWD, and write reflective essays. Two researchers independently completed inductive thematic analysis of the films, essays, and course evaluations. Differences were reconciled by consensus. RESULTS A total of 52 students from three classes completed the course; 24 (46%) were majoring in health sciences. Three key themes emerged (1) Music helps students connect with people living with dementia in meaningful ways; (2) filmmaking offers students the opportunity to share unique, person-centered stories about dementia and music that empower the voices of PWD; and (3) reflective writing enables students to process new experiences and lessons learned. Unexpectedly, 29 students (56%) reported continued engagement with PWD in their careers, families, and communities after course completion. CONCLUSION This study identifies reproducible ways in which undergraduate arts courses thematically focused on dementia not only transform student perceptions about dementia but change the ways in which those students choose to engage with PWD following course completion. METHODS We conducted a retrospective multicenter study among pediatric rheumatology centers in Oman over a 10-year period from 2008 to 2018. Analyses were performed using univariate statistics. RESULTS A total of 148 pSLE under the age of 13 years were included of which 30% (n = 44) were men. The overall mean age at SLE diagnosis was 7.6 ± 3.5 years while the mean disease duration was 10.1 ± 5.4 years. UV was diagnosed in 36% (n = 53) of pSLE patients. Patients with pSLE and UV were more likely to be male (57% vs 15%; P  less then  .001), diagnosed at a younger age (5.9 vs 8.5 years; P  less then  .001), have a family history of SLE (53% vs 36%; P = .044), and have associated conjunctivitis, (32% vs 5.3%; P  less then  .001) but less likely to have CNS involvement (7.6% vs 20%; P = .045) or hematological manifestations such as leukopenia (9.4% vs 24%; P = .028) and thrombocytopenia (5.7% vs 18%; P = .045). This subgroup was also more likely to be associated with low C3 complement count (94% vs 66%; P  less then  .001) and positive cytoplasmic ANCA (11% vs 0%; P = .022). CONCLUSION We report a high occurrence of UV in a pSLE cohort associated with unique demographic, clinical, and laboratory features. © 2020 Wiley Periodicals LLC.
