The two broad histological subtypes of lung cancer are small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), which are the leading causes of cancer-related death in the world. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been verified to be critical in the regulation of cancer development. #link# The present study identified and elucidated the regulatory roles of a novel lncRNA MRUL in NSCLC. Fatostatin showed that MRUL was overexpressed in NSCLC samples and correlated with the poor prognosis of patients who had NSCLC. Moreover, this research has for the first time demonstrated that MRUL acted as an oncogenetic lncRNA in NSCLC. Knockdown of MRUL considerably repressed NSCLC cell proliferation, invasion, and migration. The bioinformatics analysis showed that MRUL was involved in regulating multiple RNA splicing and proliferation-related biological processes, such as mRNA splicing, RNA splicing, mRNA processing, mRNA 3'-end processing, mRNA splice site selection, and DNA replication. By combining bioinformatics analysis and experimental validation, we found that MRUL regulated NSCLC progression through promoting SRSF2 by sponging miR-17 in NSCLC cells. The discoveries indicated that MRUL could be a therapeutic target and a potential diagnostic for NSCLC.

The implantation sites, fetus resorption, and abnormal fetuses were studied in pregnant mice treated with different doses of BaP by oral gavage from day 1 to day 10 of gestation. Additionally, apoptosis and related signaling pathway, and the migration and invasion of trophoblasts, were assessed before and after exposure of BPDE in Swan 71 trophoblast cell. Besides, the migration and invasion, and its related signaling pathway, were assessed in villi obtained from women.

We observed a concentration-dependent incidence of abnormal murine fetuses, beginning with 0.1 mg/kg BaP; with a BaP concentration of 2 mg/kg, no fetuses developed. Correspondingly, a BPDE concentration-dependent apoptosis of human trophoblasts. Beginning with 0.5

M BPDE exposure, Bax/Caspase-3 were increased and Bcl-2 decreased. Furthermore, BPDE also inhibited, in a dose-dependent manner, the migration of villous explants from elective abortion women, consistent with the reduced migration of villous explants from women with recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL), and reduced the cell immigration in Swan 71 trophoblasts, in a dose-dependent manner measured by transwell assays.

Our study results provide mechanistic insight to the effect of BPDE on trophoblast dysfunction through enhanced cell apoptosis and inhibited migration, providing further experimental evidence to the causative links between BaP exposure and PRL.

To determine the role of history of prostatitis (HP) as an independent risk factor for erectile dysfunction (ED) in Chinese adult males.

We conducted an online survey using a crowd-sourced questionnaire in Chinese adult males. The participants were separated into two groups as adult participants with HP and with no history of prostatitis (NHP) according to the medical history record. As diagnosis criteria of ED, we used the 5 questions of the International Index for Erectile Function (IIEF-5). The general data including height, weight, monthly income, academic background, smoking history, alcohol drinking, marital status, conjugal affection, and other disease history was asked and recorded. The relationship between HP and ED using the chi-square test and logistic regression analyses was investigated and analyzed.

In total, 1873 participants answered the questionnaire. 95 participants in the HP group and 1778 participants in the NHP group were included in this study. The rate of participants with HP was 5.343%. ED was found in 68.4% of the HP group and 43% of the NHP group (

< 0.001). Regression analysis showed that participants in HP were more likely to have ED (OR 2.135, 95% CI 1.266-3.60) after adjusting for the participant's age, body mass index (BMI), monthly income, academic background, smoking history, alcohol drinking, marital status, conjugal affection, BPH, hypertension, and diabetes mellitus, when compared with NHP.

The present study indicated a high prevalence of ED in Chinese adult males with history of prostatitis, and HP is an independent risk factor for erectile dysfunction.

A reliable and valid assessment tool is essential for evaluating children's movement skills in daily physical education environments. The purpose of this study was to examine the validity of Children's Motor Skills Quotient (CMSQ) used in the classroom setting. Six raters conducted evaluation to participants, and a total of 734 children completed all the test items and were included in the study. Descriptive statistics and Rasch analysis were used in this study. The descriptive statistics were mainly used for calculating the mean, standard deviation, percentage, and internal consistency coefficient. Rasch analysis was used to verify the fitting statistics, project difficulty, and functional differences of the items of the CMSQ. The findings showed that the CMSQ met the assumption of the Rasch model, including the unidimensionality, local independence, person measure, and item difficulty hierarchy. The CMSQ also demonstrated adequate interrater reliability and internal consistency. The differential item functioning (DIF) demonstrated a few items showing different probabilities across sex and age. To maintain the item difficulty hierarchy of the CMSQ, no items were deleted. Overall, the CMSQ seems to have appropriate test items with an appropriate rating scale structure for measuring 6-9-year-old children's movement skills in the physical education classroom environment.
