Obstetric provider knowledge about cCMV is low, which likely impacts their antenatal counseling. Educational initiatives to increase awareness about cCMV may increase antenatal education and thereby decrease the risk of cCMV.

Racial, ethnic, and gender disparities in cardiovascular care are well-documented. This review aims to highlight the disparities and impact on a group particularly vulnerable to disparities, women from racial/ethnic minority backgrounds.

Women from racial/ethnic minority backgrounds remain underrepresented in major cardiovascular trials, limiting the generalizability of cardiovascular research to this population. Certain cardiovascular risk factors are more prevalent in women from racial/ethnic minority backgrounds, including traditional risk factors such as hypertension, obesity, and diabetes. Female-specific risk factors including gestational diabetes and preeclampsia as well as non-traditional psychosocial risk factors like depressive and anxiety disorders, increased child care, and familial and home care responsibility have been shown to increase risk for cardiovascular disease events in women more so than in men, and disproportionately affect women from racial/ethnic minority backgrounds. Despite this, minimal interventions to address differential risk have been proposed. Furthermore, disparities in treatment and outcomes that disadvantage minority women persist. The limited improvement in outcomes over time, especially among non-Hispanic Black women, is an area that requires further research and active interventions.

Understanding the lack of representation in cardiovascular trials, differential cardiovascular risk, and disparities in treatment and outcomes among women from racial/ethnic minority backgrounds highlights opportunities for improving cardiovascular care among this particularly vulnerable population.

Recently, an optical machine learning method based on Diffractive Deep Neural Networks (D2NNs) has been introduced to execute a function as the input light diffracts through passive layers, designed by deep learning using a computer. Here we introduce improvements to D2NNs by changing the training loss function and reducing the impact of vanishing gradients in the error back-propagation step. Using five phase-only diffractive layers, we numerically achieved a classification accuracy of 97.18% and 89.13% for optical recognition of handwritten digits and fashion products, respectively; using both phase and amplitude modulation (complex-valued) at each layer, our inference performance improved to 97.81% and 89.32%, respectively. Furthermore, we report the integration of D2NNs with electronic neural networks to create hybrid-classifiers that significantly reduce the number of input pixels into an electronic network using an ultra-compact front-end D2NN with a layer-to-layer distance of a few wavelengths, also reducing the complexity of the successive electronic network. Using a 5-layer phase-only D2NN jointly-optimized with a single fully-connected electronic layer, we achieved a classification accuracy of 98.71% and 90.04% for the recognition of handwritten digits and fashion products, respectively. Moreover, the input to the electronic network was compressed by >7.8 times down to 10×10 pixels. Beyond creating low-power and high-frame rate machine learning platforms, D2NN-based hybrid neural networks will find applications in smart optical imager and sensor design. The article provides the methodology for assessing the total labor input in the economy on the basis of a symmetric input-output table. The main directions of its use in modern economics are outlined taking into account the surveyed world experience. The study presents an analysis of estimates of total labor costs in the Russian economy calculated industry-by-industry.The article contains an analysis of the events of world economic history related to the processes of globalization. The principles and nature of the functioning of international institutions that determine the world order in recent decades are described. In the context of significant changes taking place in the world in recent years, the question is raised of changing the balance of power in the world economy and the possibility of transition to its "deglobalization" is assessed. The article contemplates and evaluates the changes in the Russian economy precipitated by the epidemic of a new coronavirus. The key constraints of the development of the Russian economy in the medium and long term perspectives are analyzed. The basic action strategies and a set of economic policy measures to strengthen the potential for economic growth in Russia are introduced. The sources and instruments of financing economic growth in current conditions are substantiated. To state that the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 has broadly and deeply impacted our lives is an understatement. check details Since it first showed up on our radar in December 2019, the new coronavirus has wreaked havoc on virtually all businesses and industries across the globe. The impact is equally felt in developing, developed, industrialized, rural, rich, and poor countries and communities, irrespective of how well-prepared those countries and communities felt they were 9 months ago. To this day we are still learning to prepare for, respond to, and adapt to the broad and deep impact of this virus. This essay presents different perspectives on the impact of the novel coronavirus to dentistry, through the lenses of a private practice-based general dentist, a nursing home-based public health dentist, and a school of dentistry clinical director. The goal of the essay is to share our experiences and challenges, as well as highlight our capacity to respond to a crisis with resilience, determination, creativity, inventivity, and, most importantly, humility and altruism.
