Crop yield is related to national food security and economic performance, and it is therefore important to estimate this parameter quickly and accurately. In this work, we estimate the yield of winter wheat using the spectral indices (SIs), ground-measured plant height (H), and the plant height extracted from UAV-based hyperspectral images (HCSM) using three regression techniques, namely partial least squares regression (PLSR), an artificial neural network (ANN), and Random Forest (RF). The SIs, H, and HCSM were used as input values, and then the PLSR, ANN, and RF were trained using regression techniques. The three different regression techniques were used for modeling and verification to test the stability of the yield estimation. The results showed that (1) HCSM is strongly correlated with H (R2 = 0.97); (2) of the regression techniques, the best yield prediction was obtained using PLSR, followed closely by ANN, while RF had the worst prediction performance; and (3) the best prediction results were obtained using PLSR and training using a combination of the SIs and HCSM as inputs (R2 = 0.77, RMSE = 648.90 kg/ha, NRMSE = 10.63%). Therefore, it can be concluded that PLSR allows the accurate estimation of crop yield from hyperspectral remote sensing data, and the combination of the SIs and HCSM allows the most accurate yield estimation. The results of this study indicate that the crop plant height extracted from UAV-based hyperspectral measurements can improve yield estimation, and that the comparative analysis of PLSR, ANN, and RF regression techniques can provide a reference for agricultural management.Arrhythmogenic Cardiomyopathy (AC) is a clinically and genetically heterogeneous myocardial disease. Half of AC patients harbour private desmosomal gene variants. Although microRNAs (miRNAs) have emerged as key regulator molecules in cardiovascular diseases and their involvement, correlated to phenotypic variability or to non-invasive biomarkers, has been advanced also in AC, no data are available in larger disease cohorts. Here, we propose the largest AC cohort unbiased by technical and biological factors. MiRNA profiling on nine right ventricular tissue, nine blood samples of AC patients, and four controls highlighted 10 differentially expressed miRNAs in common. Six of these were validated in a 90-AC patient cohort independent from genetic status miR-122-5p, miR-133a-3p, miR-133b, miR-142-3p, miR-182-5p, and miR-183-5p. This six-miRNA set showed high discriminatory diagnostic power in AC patients when compared to controls (AUC-0.995), non-affected family members of AC probands carrying a desmosomal pathogenic variant (AUC-0.825), and other cardiomyopathy groups (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy AUC-0.804, Dilated Cardiomyopathy AUC-0.917, Brugada Syndrome AUC-0.981, myocarditis AUC-0.978). AC-related signalling pathways were targeted by this set of miRNAs. A unique set of six-miRNAs was found both in heart-tissue and blood samples of AC probands, supporting its involvement in disease pathogenesis and its possible role as a non-invasive AC diagnostic biomarker.The 24 GHz continuous-wave (CW) Doppler radar sensor (DRS) is widely used for measuring the instantaneous speed of moving objects by using a non-contact approach, and has begun to be used in train-borne movable speed measurements in recent years in China because of its advanced performance. The architecture and working principle of train-borne DRSs with different structures including single-channel DRSs used for freight train speed measurements in railway freight dedicated lines and dual-channel DRSs used for speed measurements of high-speed and urban rail trains in railway passenger dedicated lines, are first introduced. Then, the disadvantages of two traditional speed calibration methods for train-borne DRS are described, and a new speed calibration method based on the Doppler shift signal simulation by imposing a signal modulation on the incident CW microwave signal is proposed. A 24 GHz CW radar target simulation system for a train-borne DRS was specifically realized to verify the proposed speed calibration method for a train-borne DRS, and traceability and performance evaluation on simulated speed were taken into account. The simulated speed range of the simulation system was up to (5~500) km/h when the simulated incident angle range was within the range of (45 ± 8)°, and the maximum permissible error (MPE) of the simulated speed was ±0.05 km/h.
