CONCLUSIONS Diagnosed sleep disorders are highly prevalent in people with diabetes. Sleep disorders are associated with diabetes outcomes, though there was considerable heterogeneity across studies. Initiation of cancer is interconnected with different factors like infections. It has been estimated that infections, particularly viruses, participate in about 20% of all cancers. Bacteria as the most common infectious agents are also reported to be emerging players in the establishment of malignant cells. Microbial infections are able to modulate host cell transformation for promoting malignant features through the production of carcinogenic metabolites participating in inflammation responses, disruption of cell metabolism, and integrity and also genomic or epigenetic manipulations. It seems that the best example of the role of bacteria in cancer promotion is Helicobacter pylori infection, which is related to gastric cancer. World Health Organization (WHO) describes bacterium as class I carcinogens. Several bacterial infections have been reported in association with prevalent cancers. In this review, we will summarize the role of known bacterial infections in the initiation of the main common cancers, which show high mortality in the world. Examining the microbiomes in cancer patients is important and necessary to better understand the pathogenesis of this disease and also to plan therapeutic interventions. Progress of the disease and prolonged treatment with antibiotics or immunosuppressive agents makes tuberculosis patients susceptible to fungal infections. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of pulmonary Aspergillus coinfection among patients with pulmonary tuberculosis in Asia and Africa. The present review of cross-sectional studies was conducted on the prevalence of pulmonary Aspergillus coinfection among patients with pulmonary tuberculosis according to the PRISMA Protocol. Literatures published online in English from January 2001 to March 2019 via key databases such as Web of Science, MEDLINE, PubMed, Scopus, and Cochrane Library were searched. The used MeSH and non-MeSH keywords were; "pulmonary fungal", "pulmonary coinfection", OR "Pulmonary mycosis", "pulmonary fungal infections/agents", OR "Polymicrobial infection", OR "Secondary infection", OR "Mixed infections", "pulmonary aspergillosis", "fungi coinfection", "Fungal co-colonization", AND "pulmonary tuberculosis", OR "pulmonary TB", AND "Asia" AND "Africa". Finally, data analyzed using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis software (CMA). The combined Aspergillus coinfection among patients with pulmonary tuberculosis was 15.4% (95% CI 11.4-20.5), Q = 105.8 and Z = 9.57 in Asia and Africa. The most frequency of Aspergillus spp. was related to A. fumigatus with a combined prevalence of 57.6%. Most of the studies included in the present review showed a higher Aspergillus coinfection in the age group of 40 years and higher. Also, the existence of a correlation between increasing age and Aspergillus coinfection was reported (p less then 0.05). The present review showed a high combined Aspergillus coinfection among patients with pulmonary tuberculosis in Asia and Africa. Also, amongst the Aspergillus spp., the most frequent was related to A. fumigatus. The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the ability to adhere/internalize, persist, and induce damage in mammary epithelial cells (MAC-T) of two Staphylococcus aureus strains with different adaptation genotypes (low and high) to the bovine mammary gland (MG). Also, the phagocytic and bactericidal capacity induced after the interaction between macrophages, isolated from mammary secretion, of both S. aureus strains was evaluated. Two isolates (designated 806 and 5011) from bovine intramammary infection (IMI) harboring genes involved in adherence and biofilm production, belonging to different capsular polysaccharide (CP) type, accessory gene regulator (agr) group, pulsotype (PT) and sequence type/clonal complex (ST/CC). Strains 806 and 5011 were associated with low (nonpersistent-NP) and high (persistent-P) adaptation to the MG, respectively. Strain 5011 (P), agr group I, cap8 positive and strong biofilm producer showed higher capacity to adhere/internalize in MAC-T compared with strain 806 (NP), characterized as agr group II, cap5 positive and weak biofilm producer. Strain 5011(P) could be recovered from MAC-T lysates up to 72 h pi; while strain 806 (NP) could be recovered only at 4 h pi. Strain 5011 (P) showed greater capacity to induce apoptosis compared with strain 806 (NP) at 4, 24 and 48 h pi. JQ1 in vivo Macrophages infected with strain 5011 (P) showed a greater phagocytic capacity and higher percentage of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) production than strain 806 (NP). No viable bacteria were isolated from macrophages lysates stimulated with any of the S. aureus strains at 2, 4, 8 and 24 h pi. The knowledge of the molecular profile of the S. aureus strains causing bovine mastitis in a herd could become a tool to expose the most prevalent virulence gene patterns and advance in the elucidation of the pathogenesis of chronic mastitis. BACKGROUND Morphological changes of the lumbar spine muscles are not well characterised with ageing. To further the understanding of age-related degeneration of the lumbar spine musculature, normative morphological changes that occur within the paravertebral muscles must first be established. METHODS A systematic review and meta-regressions were conducted adhering to PRISMA guidelines. Searches for published and unpublished data were completed in June 2019. RESULTS Searches returned 4781 articles. 34 articles were included in the quantitative analysis. Three-level meta-analyses showed age-related atrophy (r = -0.26; 95% CI -0.33, -0.17) and fat infiltration (r = 0.39; 95% CI 0.28, 0.50) in the lumbar paravertebral muscles. Degenerative changes were muscle-specific and men (r = -0.32; 95% CI -0.61, 0.01) exhibited significantly greater muscle atrophy than women (r = -0.24; 95% CI -0.47, 0.03). Imaging modality, specifically ultrasound, also influenced age-related muscle atrophy. Measurements taken across all lumbar levels revealed the greatest fat infiltration with ageing (r = 0.
