The HFMs based on water-wetted MicroPES substrate offered a very thin gas gap in the hydrophobic surface coating yielding a high flux of 26.4-27.6 kg/m2-h with 1 wt% feed brine at 70 °C. The fluxes of HFMs on porous PP substrates having a long vapor diffusion path were significantly lower. Coated HFM performances have been compared with flat hydrophilic membranes of polyvinylidene fluoride having a similar plasma-polymerized hydrophobic polyfluorosiloxane coating.

Simulation is a useful method to improve learning and increase the safety of work operations, both for technical and non-technical skills. However, the observation, assessment, and feedback about these skills is particularly complex, because the process needs expert observers, and the feedback could be judgmental and ineffective. Therefore, a structured process to develop effective simulation scenarios and tools for the observation and feedback about performance is crucial. To this aim, in the present research, we developed a training model for electricity distribution workers, based on high fidelity simulation.

We designed simulation scenarios based on real cases, developed, and tested a set of observation and rating forms for the non-technical skills behavioral markers, and we tracked behaviors based on non-verbal cues (physiological and head orientation parameters).

The training methodology proved to be highly appreciated by the participants and effective in fostering reflexivity. An in-depth analysirkers, and should investigate non-invasive and real-time methods for tracking physiological parameters. In applications such as carrier attitude control and mobile device navigation, a micro-electro-mechanical-system (MEMS) gyroscope will inevitably be affected by random vibration, which significantly affects the performance of the MEMS gyroscope. In order to solve the degradation of MEMS gyroscope performance in random vibration environments, in this paper, a combined method of a long short-term memory (LSTM) network and Kalman filter (KF) is proposed for error compensation, where Kalman filter parameters are iteratively optimized using the Kalman smoother and expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, we performed a linear random vibration test to acquire MEMS gyroscope data. Subsequently, an analysis of the effects of input data step size and network topology on gyroscope error compensation performance is presented. Furthermore, the autoregressive moving average-Kalman filter (ARMA-KF) model, which is commonly used in gyroscope error compensation, was also combined with the LSTM network as a comparison method. The results show that, for the x-axis data, the proposed combined method reduces the standard deviation (STD) by 51.58% and 31.92% compared to the bidirectional LSTM (BiLSTM) network, and EM-KF method, respectively. For the z-axis data, the proposed combined method reduces the standard deviation by 29.19% and 12.75% compared to the BiLSTM network and EM-KF method, respectively. Furthermore, for x-axis data and z-axis data, the proposed combined method reduces the standard deviation by 46.54% and 22.30% compared to the BiLSTM-ARMA-KF method, respectively, and the output is smoother, proving the effectiveness of the proposed method.Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) is an emerging Alphavirus which causes millions of human infections every year. Outbreaks have been reported in Africa and Asia since the early 1950s, from three CHIKV lineages West African, East Central South African, and Asian Urban. As new outbreaks occurred in the Americas, individual strains from the known lineages have evolved, creating new monophyletic groups that generated novel geographic-based lineages. Building on a recently updated phylogeny of CHIKV, we report here the availability of an interactive CHIKV phylodynamics dataset, which is based on more than 900 publicly available CHIKV genomes. We provide an interactive view of CHIKV molecular epidemiology built on Nextstrain, a web-based visualization framework for real-time tracking of pathogen evolution. CHIKV molecular epidemiology reveals single nucleotide variants that change the stability and fold of locally stable RNA structures. We propose alternative RNA structure formation in different CHIKV lineages by predicting more than a dozen RNA elements that are subject to perturbation of the structure ensemble upon variation of a single nucleotide.Testicular expression of taste receptor type 1 subunit 3 (T1R3), a sweet/umami taste receptor, has been implicated in spermatogenesis and steroidogenesis in mice. We explored the role of testicular T1R3 in porcine postnatal development using the Congjiang Xiang pig, a rare Chinese miniature pig breed. Based on testicular weights, morphology, and testosterone levels, four key developmental stages were identified in the pig at postnatal days 15-180 (prepuberty 30 day; early puberty 60 day; late puberty 90 day; sexual maturity 120 day). During development, testicular T1R3 exhibited stage-dependent and cell-specific expression patterns. In particular, T1R3 levels increased significantly from prepuberty to puberty (p less then 0.05), and expression remained high until sexual maturity (p less then 0.05), similar to results for phospholipase Cβ2 (PLCβ2). The strong expressions of T1R3/PLCβ2 were observed at the cytoplasm of elongating/elongated spermatids and Leydig cells. In the eight-stage cycle of the seminiferous epithelium in pigs, T1R3/PLCβ2 levels were higher in the spermatogenic epithelium at stages II-VI than at the other stages, and the strong expressions were detected in elongating/elongated spermatids and residual bodies. Metabolism inhibitor The message RNA (mRNA) levels of taste receptor type 1 subunit 1 (T1R1) in the testis showed a similar trend to levels of T1R3. These data indicate a possible role of T1R3 in the regulation of spermatid differentiation and Leydig cell function.Ovarian veins system insufficiency is one of the most common reasons for pelvic venous insufficiency (PVI). PVI is a hemodynamic phenomenon responsible for the occurrence of venous insufficiency of the lower extremities and recurrent varicose veins in nulliparous and parous women, as well as for a set of symptoms described as pelvic congestion syndrome (PCS). In the years 2017-2019, 535 patients admitted to our center with symptoms of venous insufficiency of the lower extremities, underwent complete ultrasound diagnostics (color-duplex ultrasound) of the venous system of the abdomen, pelvis and lower limbs, as well as extended imaging diagnostics using computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance (MR) venography. On the basis of the obtained results, the authors proposed a 4-grade hemodynamic and radiological classification (grades I-IV) defining the stratification of ovarian veins insufficiency. Using the above mentioned classification approx. 32% patients were identified as Grade I and I/II, approximately 35% revealed morphological and hemodynamic changes corresponding to Grade II and II/III, approximately 25% were classified as Grade III, whereas the remaining 8% were assessed as Grade IV.
