S. freshwater lakes, but other TrOC concentrations were present at lower concentrations than in other freshwater lakes. We conclude that some TrOCs may accumulate in TLs, but to a lesser extent than would be expected based on the accumulation of dissolved constituents alone, which indicates that there are other unidentified processes in TLs that contribute to TrOC losses. Other TLs across the globe may have similar levels of TrOCs due to anthropogenic influence and treated wastewater inputs.Phosphorus (P) uptake, distribution and transformation are important processes associated with the growth and metabolism of microalgae. In this study, the fate of P in soluble microbial products (SMP), extracellular polymeric substances (EPS), and intracellular polymeric substances (IPS) of Chlorella vulgaris C7 in the form of inorganic P (IP) and organic P (OP) was studied under different trophic modes, including photoautotrophy, heterotrophy and mixotrophy. The results showed that mixotrophic cultivation of microalgae brought highest biomass yield, which was 2.09 times and 11.10 times higher than that of the photoautotrophic and heterotrophic conditions. Regarding P distribution and transformation, the trophic modes affected the transformation trends and rates of P in the form of IP and OP among SMP, EPS and IPS. Under photoautotrophic condition, EPS was the main P pool, and most of P in C. vulgaris was IP. While, under mixotrophic condition, IPS was the main P pool, and most of P was transformed to OP. The addition of glucose promoted the uptake of P by algal cells and the transformation of IP to OP, which accounted for 79.32% of total phosphorus at the end of cultivation. Collectively, mixotrophic cultivation was regarded as the optimum approach for microalgae cultivation and nutrient recovery.
The aim of this article was to conduct a 25-year retrospective study within an oral surgery department, on the incidence of the ranula in children and its ideal treatment, associated with a literature review on the plunging ranula in pediatrics.
A retrospective review of the medical records of pediatric patients (0-12 years) from 1995 to 2020 was performed in an oral surgery department in Maringá/Brazil. The examined data included age of the patients, sex, clinical signs, time of evolution and follow-up, complementary exams, type of ranula, diagnostic hypothesis, surgical procedures and accesses, complications and recurrence. In addition, a literature review was carried out on the plunging ranula in children, using the MEDLINE database, from 1995 to 2020, with the search terms "PLUNGING RANULA" OR "CERVICAL RANULA. A PICOS was established and PRISMA standards were followed.
In the retrospective study, of the 11 patients found, 10 were with simple ranulas and only 1 with plunging ranula. All patients werion of the sublingual gland through intraoral access, associated with mucus leakage, is considered a safe and effective treatment.
Previous research has indicated that body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) often demonstrate similar cognitive impairments across multiple domains. However, findings for both disorders have not consistently shown impaired cognition. As such, BDD and OCD might share an overlapping pattern of cognitive heterogeneity, characterised by subgroups with different cognitive profiles.
To evaluate this possibility, we compared 26 BDD, 24 OCD, and 26 healthy control participants on a comprehensive eight-domain cognitive battery. Then, cluster analysis was performed on the BDD and OCD participants' combined data to explore for cognitive subgroups.
No significant differences were found between the three groups' cognitive functioning, except for poorer visual learning in OCD relative to healthy controls. Cluster analysis produced two cognitive subgroups within the combined BDD and OCD data, characterised by intact cognition (52%) and broadly impaired cognition (48%). Each subgroup comprised both BDD and OCD participants, in similar proportions. The subgroups did not differ in clinical or demographic features.
Sample sizes were moderate. Future research should investigate clustering patterns both in larger groups and separately in BDD and OCD samples to determine replicability.
These findings suggest that BDD and OCD may involve similar patterns of cognitive heterogeneity, and further imply that individuals with either disorder can show a wide range of cognitive profiles, thus necessitating a nuanced approach to future cognitive research in BDD and OCD.

Globally, chronic disease is a leading cause of illness, disability and death and an important driver of health system utilization and spending. Continuity of care is a significant component of quality healthcare. However, an association between nurse-led services, interventions, patient outcomes and continuity of care at the primary and secondary interface as an outcome, has not been established for people with chronic disease.
To identify the effectiveness of nurse-led services for people with chronic disease in achieving an outcome of continuity of care at the primary-secondary healthcare interface.
Quantitative systematic review.
Systematic searches of Medline, Cochrane, Embase, Emcare, JBI and Scopus databases were conducted of studies published between 1946 and May 2019 using the search terms "nurse", "continuity of care" and "chronic disease".
Quality of the included studies was assessed using the Cochrane risk of bias tool for randomized controlled trials and Joanna Briggs Institute quality ith reduced hospitalizations or readmissions and patient satisfaction. However, the limited use of validated continuity of care outcome measurement tools precluded establishing correlations between interventions, patient outcomes and continuity of care as a specific outcome.
Nurse-led services for adults provide coordinated interventions that support continuity of care for people with chronic disease in both the primary and secondary healthcare settings that are associated with reduced hospitalizations or readmissions and patient satisfaction.
