It is suggested that the sensation evoked by cutaneous prickling stimulation from single fiber belongs to a kind of multidimensional experience involving somatosensory, motor, emotional, cognitive, etc Our study constitutes an important step toward identifying the brain mechanism of fabric-evoked prickle.

To describe a new method for accurate T

measurement of cortical bone that fits the data sets of both 3D UTE actual flip angle imaging (UTE-AFI) and UTE with a single TR (UTE-STR) simultaneously (UTE-AFI-STR).

To make both the constant values and longitudinal mapping functions in the signal equations for UTE-AFI and UTE-STR identical, the same RF pulses and flip angles were used. Therefore, there were three unknowns in the three equations. This was sufficient to fit the data. Numerical simulation as well as ex vivo and in vivo cortical bone studies were performed to validate the T

measurement accuracy with the UTE-AFI-STR method. The original UTE-AFI variable TR (VTR) (ie, combined UTE-AFI and UTE with VTR) and simultaneous fitting (sf) of UTE-AFI and UTE-VTR (sf-UTE-AFI-VTR) methods were performed for comparison.

The numerical simulation study showed that the UTE-AFI-STR method provided accurate value of T

when the SNR of the UTE-STR image was higher than 40. The ex vivo study showed that the UTE-AFI-STR method measured the T

of cortical bone accurately, with difference ratios ranging from -5.0% to 0.4%. The in vivo study showed a mean T

of 246 ms with the UTE-AFI-STR method, and mean difference ratios of 2.4% and 5.0%, respectively, compared with the other two methods.

The 3D UTE-AFI-STR method provides accurate mapping of the T

of cortical bone with improved time efficiency compared with the UTE-AFI-VTR/sf-UTE-AFI-VTR methods.

The 3D UTE-AFI-STR method provides accurate mapping of the T1 of cortical bone with improved time efficiency compared with the UTE-AFI-VTR/sf-UTE-AFI-VTR methods.

Buprenorphine (BUP) maintenance treatment for opioid use disorder (OUD) begins with supervised daily dosing. We estimated the clinical effectiveness of a novel incentivised medication adherence and abstinence monitoring protocol in BUP maintenance to enable contingent access to increasing take-home medication supplies.

Two-arm, single-centre, pragmatic, randomised controlled trial of outpatient BUP maintenance, with during-treatment follow-ups at 4weeks, 8weeks, 12weeks and 16weeks.

Inpatient and outpatient addictions treatment centre in the United Arab Emirates.

Adults with OUD, voluntarily seeking treatment.

The experimental condition was 16weeks BUP maintenance with incentivised adherence and abstinence monitoring (I-AAM) giving contingent access to 7-day, then 14-day, then 21-day and 28-day medication supply. The control, treatment-as-usual (TAU) was 16weeks BUP maintenance, with contingent access to 7-day then 14-day supply.

The primary outcome was number of negative urine drug screens (UDS) nance treatment-as-usual, but it did not appear to increase treatment retention.

Buprenorphine maintenance with incentivised therapeutic drug monitoring to enable contingent access to increasing take-home medication supplies increased abstinence from opioids compared with buprenorphine maintenance treatment-as-usual, but it did not appear to increase treatment retention.

Patients are not well informed about sexual dysfunction after rectal cancer surgery and often turn to the Internet for information. The purpose of this study was to assess online information for patients on sexual dysfunction after rectal cancer surgery.

An online search of Google, Yahoo and Bing was performed using specific (e.g., rectal cancer surgery and vaginal pain) and general (e.g., rectal cancer surgery and sex) search terms. Inclusion criteria were websites in English, designed for patients, and including content regarding sexual dysfunction after rectal cancer surgery. Websites were assessed for readability (nine standardized tests), quality (DISCERN tool), suitability (Suitability Assessment of Materials tool), and content.

Of 5040 websites identified, 99 unique websites met inclusion criteria. Three (3%) websites fulfilled the American Medical Association recommendation of a 6th-grade reading level. Using the DISCERN instrument, two (2%) websites were assigned good/excellent quality, nineteen (19%) referenced their sources of information, and thirty-one (31%) fully discussed the impact of sexual dysfunction on quality of life. Using the SAM instrument, three (3%) websites were classified as highly suitable for rectal cancer patients, sixty-five (66%) were adequate, and thirty-one (31%) were inadequate. With regards to content, nine (9%) websites fully discussed the impact of sexual dysfunction on patients partners and fifty-one (52%) websites did not cover prognosis.

Online health information available to patients on sexual dysfunction after rectal cancer surgery is suboptimal. Websites are not suitable, lack important content, and are written at too complex a reading level for patients.

This study aimed to investigate the effect of human umbilical cord MSCs (hUC-MSCs) transfected with tissue inhibitors of matrix metalloproteinase (TIMP)-1 on the regeneration of β-cell islets in vitro and in vivo. hUC-MSCs were isolated, cultured, and transfected with lentiviruses for the overexpression of hTIMP-1. An in vitro coculture system of hUC-MSCs and streptozotocin-induced islets was established to examine the morphology, apoptosis, and insulin secretion of the cocultured islets. Diabetic mouse models were injected with lenti-TIMP-1-enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP)-hUC-MSCs to test the effect of hTIMP-1 on insulin levels and glucose tolerance in vivo. The expression of insulin and glucagon was evaluated by immunofluorescence staining. Dexketoprofen trometamol The results showed that coculture with hUC-MSCs or Lenti-TIMP-1-EGFP-hUC-MSCs improved islet viability rates. Lenti-TIMP-1-EGFP-hUC-MSC coculture increased the insulin and C-peptide secretion function of the cultured islets and increased the secretion of tumor necrosis factor-β1, interleukin-6, IL-10, and hTIMP-1.
