A retrospective, observational analysis of 47 patients with aquaporin-4 immunoglobulin G-positive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (AQP4-IgG+ NMOSD) enrolled at the University of Utah healthcare system was conducted. Visual acuity, neurological disability, and pain medication use were compared in relapsing versus non-relapsing patients. The median observation period was 3.6 years (range 0.0-11.4 years); the annual relapse rate was 0.1376 (95% confidence interval 0.0874, 0.191). Relapsing patients (n = 14) exhibited diminished visual acuity, clinically meaningful worsening of neurological disability, and greater pain medication use than non-relapsing patients (n = 33). In Eukaryotes, Fe-S clusters are produced through coordinated activity by mitochondrial Iron-Sulfur Cluster (ISC) assembly pathway proteins through direct assembly, or through the production of the activated sulfur substrate used by the Cytosolic Iron-Sulfur Cluster Assembly (CIA) pathway. In the mitochondria, Fe-S cluster assembly is accomplished through the coordinated activity of the ISC pathway protein complex composed of a cysteine desulfurase, a scaffold protein, the accessory ISD11 protein, the acyl carrier protein, frataxin, and a ferredoxin; downstream events that accomplish Fe-S cluster transfer and delivery are driven by additional chaperone/delivery proteins that interact with the ISC assembly complex. Deficiency in human production or activity of Fe-S cluster containing proteins is often detrimental to cell and organism viability. Here we summarize what is known about the structure and functional activities of the proteins involved in the early steps of assembling [2Fe-2S] clusters before they are transferred to proteins devoted to their delivery. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive overview of how the ISC assembly apparatus proteins interact to make the Fe-S cluster which can be delivered to proteins downstream to the assembly event.

The aim of this prospective study was to investigate the association of self-critical rumination, autonomic function (indexed by a time domain metric of resting heart rate variability-RMSSD), subjective well-being and somatic symptom distress.

84 healthy participants (73 females; mean age = 23.56, SD = 3.35 years) completed the Somatic Symptom Severity Scale of the Patient Health Questionnaire and Mental Health Continuum Short Form at two timepoints (at baseline and six months later). Resting heart rate variability (HRV) was assessed at baseline, along with content specific rumination using the Self-Critical Rumination Scale. Four moderation analyses were performed to test these associations.

The interaction between resting HRV and self-critical rumination significantly explained somatic symptom distress at baseline. For those participants who had high resting HRV, somatic symptom distress was basically independent from the level of self-critical rumination. At the same time, lower resting HRV was assocssed with RMSSD, might be an important factor in the relationship of self-critical rumination and somatic symptom distress.

Concern about side effects is one of the most common reasons for refusing vaccination. Side-effect expectations are known to predict perception of side effects. We aimed to investigate the percentage of people who thought side effects from COVID-19 vaccination were likely and investigate factors associated with side-effect expectation.

Online cross-sectional survey of 1470 UK adults who had not been vaccinated for COVID-19 (conducted 13 to 15 January 2021). We asked participants how likely they thought side effects from COVID-19 vaccination were. Linear regression analyses were used to investigate associations with side-effect expectations.

Most participants were uncertain whether they would experience side effects from a COVID-19 vaccine; only a minority reported that side effects were very likely (9.4%, 95% CI 7.9% to 10.9%, n=138/1470). Personal and clinical characteristics, general, and COVID-19 vaccination beliefs and attitudes explained 29.7% of the variance in side-effect expectation, with COVID-, while promoting accurate perceptions of the incidence of vaccination side effects.

Problem solving magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is used to exclude malignancy in women with equivocal findings on conventional imaging. However, recommendations on its use for women recalled after screening are lacking. This study evaluates the impact of problem solving MRI on diagnostic workup among women recalled from the Dutch screening program, as well as time trends and inter-hospital variation in its use.

Women who were recalled at screening mammography in the South of the Netherlands (2008-2017) were included. Two-year follow-up data were collected. Diagnostic-workup and accuracy of problem solving MRI were evaluated and time trends and inter-hospital variation in its use were examined.

In the study period 16,175 women were recalled, of whom 906 underwent problem solving MRI. Almost half of the women (45.4%) who underwent problem solving MRI were referred back to the screening program without further workup. The sensitivity, specificity, and positive and negative predictive values of problem solving MRI were 98.2%, 70.0%, 31.1%, and 99.6%, respectively. The percentage of recalled women receiving problem solving MRI fluctuated over time (4.7%-7.2%) and significantly varied among hospitals (2.2%-7.0%).

A child's death in the Emergency Department (ED) is usually unexpected and traumatic. Understanding nurses' experiences encountering such death is crucial in determining how they cope to provide quality nursing care to dying children and their families.

To report ED nurses' experiences with children's death, coping strategies and support needs.

A qualitative descriptive design. Twenty-four registered nurses who had cared for a child who died in the ED took part in semi-structured interviews. Interviews were audiorecorded, and analyzed using thematic analysis.

Three themes were generated 'nature of emergency department work', 'working with families' and 'coping and support'. This paper reports on the theme 'coping and support'. Although children's deaths were traumatizing and affected nurses personally and professionally, constant time pressure allowed limited reflection time. Developing and assessing the feasibility of using a three-dimensional (3D) printed patient-specific anthropomorphic pelvis phantom for dose calculation and verification for stereotactic ablative radiation therapy (SABR) with dose escalation to the dominant intraprostatic lesions.

A 3D-printed pelvis phantom, including bone-mimicking material, was fabricated based on the computed tomography (CT) images of a prostate cancer patient. To compare the extent to which patient and phantom body and bones overlapped, the similarity Dice coefficient was calculated. Modular cylindrical inserts were created to encapsulate radiochromic films and ionization chamber for absolute dosimetry measurements at the location of prostate and at the boost region. Gamma analysis evaluation with 2%/2mm criteria was performed to compare treatment planning system calculations and measured dose when delivering a 10 flattening filter free (FFF) SABR plan and a 10FFF boost SABR plan.
