The transurethral applicator with two opposing 75-90° active lateral tubular sectors can create two heated volumes for a total of up to 1.8 cm3 over 60 EM43 °C, with at least 10 mm radial penetration depth, 1.2 mm urethral sparing, and no lethal damage to the vagina and adjacent bone ( less then  60 EM43 °C). This study aims at investigating the factors related to subjective recovery in patients with schizophrenia living in Turkey. This study assessed 120 clinically stable outpatients with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder using the clinical and psychosocial scales. Gender, type of the diagnosis of disease, and age of the illness onset were found to be correlated with the subjective recovery. Subjective recovery was significantly correlated with CGI-S (r = - 0.25), total PANSS score (r = - 0.29), global assessment of functioning (r = 0.27), social functioning (r = 0.43), internalized stigma (r = - 0.38), self-esteem (r = 0.56), depression (r = - 0.59), and hopelessness (r = - 0.55). Hopelessness and self-esteem were found to be predictive of the subjective recovery explaining 52% of the variance. It can be argued that efforts to promote hope and self-esteem contribute to the subjective recovery.PURPOSE This study investigated the psychometric yield of extension of the EQ-5D-5L with a cognitive domain (EQ-5D+C) in a mixed cohort of trauma patients with repeated data. The surveys included the EQ-5D-5L+C, EQ-VAS, and the impact of events scale-revised (IES-R), a validated post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) self-assessment scale. RESULTS In total, 1799 trauma patients responded 6 and 12 months after trauma, including 107 respondents with PTSD, and 273 with TBI. Six months post-trauma, ceiling of the EQ-5D (26.3%) was reduced with 2.2% with the additional cognitive domain. Using EQ-VAS as reference, convergent validity increased slightly with the addition of the cognitive domain correlation increasing from 0.651 to 0.664. Cognitive level was found to slightly improve over time in TBI (delta 0.04) and PTSD patients (delta 0.05), while (almost) no change was found in patients without TBI and PTSD. CONCLUSION Adding a cognitive domain to the EQ-5D-5L slightly improved measurement properties and better captured change in health status for trauma patients with TBI and PTSD. Inclusion of the cognitive domain in the EQ-5D-5L when measuring in populations with cognitive problems should be considered.OBJECTIVE We provide a meta-analysis for clinicians and researchers regarding reliability and validity of rasterstereographic measurement of the spinal posture. METHOD A comprehensive PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) literature search identified 19 eligible studies evaluating reliability and validity of static rasterstereographic measurements in healthy subjects and patients with different spinal pathologies. RESULTS Our meta-analysis suggests that rasterstereography is a reliable and valid instrument to assess spinal posture parameters, especially thoracic kyphosis, lumbar lordosis, and scoliosis, reliability overall effect sizes rs > .91, ps  70, ps  less then  .001, when compared to traditional radiological imaging techniques. Validity is higher in scoliosis patients compared with healthy controls. Limitations are a lack of reported statistics of the included studies and small sample sizes. CONCLUSION The first meta-analysis on reliability and validity of rasterstereography shows satisfactory results. Rasterstereography thus presents a reliable and valid alternative to classic radiological imaging technique to assess and evaluate spinal posture in patients with spinal pathologies. Further studies are needed, focusing on the measurement properties of both static and dynamic rasterstereographic measurements.INTRODUCTION One important factor in evaluating the safety of an implant is the rate of subsequent surgery and the reasons for surgery, particularly those that are related to possible problems with the implant. The purpose of this study was to determine the overall re-operation rate (including revisions, removals, device-related, procedure-related, adjacent segment, and others) for a large consecutive series of cervical TDR patients beginning with the first case experience, using a single device at a single institution. METHODS Surgery records were reviewed to identify cervical TDR patients and those who underwent subsequent surgery. Cervical TDR cases involving ProDisc-C were identified, beginning with the first case performed in 2003 at a multisite spine specialty centre. Only patients who were at least 2 years post-operative were included, producing a consecutive series of 535 patients. There were 115 hybrids in the series (TDR at one level and fusion at an adjacent segment). Data collected included generaerformed for device failure. These results support the safety of the TDR device.
