Recently, the presence of right bundle brunch block (RBBB) in patients with persistent ischaemic symptoms has been suggested as an indication for emergent coronary angiography.

The aim of this study was to assess the prognostic impact of RBBB in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) before the implementation of the recent recommendations.

We retrospectively studied consecutive patients admitted with AMI between 2011 and 2013. Patients with left bundle brunch block, pacemaker, or nonspecific intraventricular conduction delay were excluded. Patients with RBBB were compared with those without RBBB. Clinical characteristics, in-hospital evolution, and major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) during follow-up, defined as cardiovascular death, sustained ventricular arrhythmias, acute heart failure syndromes, recurrent myocardial infarction, or acute stroke, were analysed.

The analysis included 481 patients. Thirty two patients (6.7%) had RBBB. Patients with RBBB were older. During hospital admission, RBBB patients had a higher rate of sustained ventricular tachycardia and death. Survival curve analysis showed that patients with RBBB had a lower in-hospital survival rate (Log-rank, p=0.004). After discharge, during a mean follow-up time of 24.3±11.6months, 53 patients (12%) died. Survival curve analysis showed a lower survival rate free of MACE for those patients with RBBB (Log-rank, p=0.011). RBBB was independently associated with MACE occurrence (HR 2.17, 95% CI 1.07-4.43; p=0.033), after adjusting for demographic data, coronary angiography findings, treatment performed, echocardiographic evaluation, and medical therapy.

Patients with RBBB had a higher rate of in-hospital mortality and arrhythmic events, and an increased risk of MACE during follow-up.

The potential ability for weather to affect SARS-CoV-2 transmission has been an area of controversial discussion during the COVID-19 pandemic. Individuals' perceptions of the impact of weather can inform their adherence to public health guidelines; however, there is no measure of their perceptions. We quantified Twitter users' perceptions of the effect of weather and analyzed how they evolved with respect to real-world events and time.

We collected 166,005 English tweets posted between January 23 and June 22, 2020 and employed machine learning/natural language processing techniques to filter for relevant tweets, classify them by the type of effect they claimed, and identify topics of discussion.

We identified 28,555 relevant tweets and estimate that 40.4 % indicate uncertainty about weather's impact, 33.5 % indicate no effect, and 26.1 % indicate some effect. We tracked changes in these proportions over time. Topic modeling revealed major latent areas of discussion.

There is no consensus among the public for weather's potential impact. Earlier months were characterized by tweets that were uncertain of weather's effect or claimed no effect; later, the portion of tweets claiming some effect of weather increased. Tweets claiming no effect of weather comprised the largest class by June. Major topics of discussion included comparisons to influenza's seasonality, President Trump's comments on weather's effect, and social distancing.

We exhibit a research approach that is effective in measuring population perceptions and identifying misconceptions, which can inform public health communications.

Informal caregivers of persons living with dementia have significant unmet information needs that, if met, would better equip them to provide effective care. Despite the existence of health information technologies, websites, resources, and organizations dedicated to dementia caregiving, caregivers continue to report unmet information needs. Caregivers' continued unmet information needs suggest a misalignment between information products, and caregivers' information behavior-how caregivers generate, acquire, manage, use, communicate, and seek information. Researchers have developed conceptual models for understanding caregivers' information behavior, but these models are limited in that they are task-oriented, and they assume that caregivers' information needs will be met if they engage in information behavior. To address these limitations, the present study sought to explore caregivers' information behavior as a sociotechnical-systems-based process.

We conduced semi-structured interviews with 30 self-ideinformation seeking and communication processes, outputs, and feedback. A sociotechnical-systems-based understanding of caregivers' information behavior allows for misalignments between information providers and products, and caregivers' information behavior not only to be illuminated, but systematically addressed. Many viruses utilize molecular chaperone heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90) for protein folding and stabilization, however, the role of Hsp90 in herpesvirus lifecycle is obscure. Here, we provide evidence that Hsp90 participates in pseudorabies virus (PRV) replication. Viral growth kinetics assays show that Hsp90 inhibitor geldanamycin (GA) abrogates PRV replication at the post-penetration step. Transmission electron microscopy demonstrates that dysfunction of Hsp90 diminishes the quantity of PRV nucleocapsids. Overexpression and knockdown of Hsp90 suggest that de novo Hsp90 is involved in PRV replication. selleck chemical Mechanismly, dysfunction of Hsp90 inhibits PRV major capsid protein VP5 expression. Co-immunoprecipitation and indirect immunofluorescence assays indicate that Hsp90 interacts with VP5. Interestingly, Hsp70, a collaborator of Hsp90, also interacts with VP5, but doesn't affect PRV growth. Finally, inhibition of Hsp90 results in PRV VP5 degradation in a proteasome-dependent manner. Collectively, our data suggest that Hsp90 contributes to PRV virion assembly and replication via stabilization of VP5.
