from New York metropolitan area towards Western and Northern regions over time. Proportions of population aged 45 years and above (β=3.25 [0.17-6.32]), living alone at residential houses (β=3.31 [0.39--6.22]), and proportion of crowd residential houses (β=6.15 [2.15-10.14]) were positively associated with the growth rate of COVID-19 infection. In contrast, living alone at rental houses (β=-2.47 [-4.83--0.12]) and rate of mental health providers (β=-1.11 [-1.95--0.28]) were negatively associated with COVID-19 growth rate across all 16 time points.

There are geospatial differences in COVID-19 incidence after implementing different NPIs. Socioeconomic, racial/ethnic, and healthcare resource disparities at the structural and historical levels across counties need to be considered in infection control policymaking to narrow the unequal health impact on vulnerable populations effectively.

College students' mental health may be disproportionally affected by the COVID-19 pandemic because of the abrupt shift off campus and subsequent loss of a social network and potential long-term impact on job prospects.

We sought to assess the nature of COVID-19's mental health impact among a sample of undergraduates who were experiencing the pandemic as it occurred in real time.

In total, 140 college students completed smartphone-based ecological momentary assessments of anxiety and optimism related to COVID-19 and other generic mental health variables 6 times daily.

Participants completed >23,750 surveys. Overall, >75% of these surveys indicated at least some level of anxiety about COVID-19. On average, the proportion of responses each day at the highest levels of anxiety about COVID-19 was 7 times greater than the proportion of responses at the highest levels of non-COVID-19-specific anxiety. Structural change analyses indicated a significant downward trend in COVID-19 anxiety after the first week of June, but even at the lowest point, >15% of the participants in the sample still reported high levels of COVID-19 anxiety each day. Participants felt more anxious about COVID-19 on days when the number of new cases and deaths due to COVID-19 were higher. When participants felt anxious about COVID-19, they also felt sad, anxious (in general), and had a greater desire to drink and use drugs. Participants felt more optimistic about COVID-19 when they received more support from others and from their university.

This study demonstrated the widespread mental health impact that COVID-19 has had on college students.

Here we describe the generation and characterization of human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC) lines of RP patient with SLC7A14 mutation and his healthy parents. Clozapine N-oxide agonist hiPSCs were derived from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) reprogrammed with integration-free plasmids including the reprogramming factors OCT3/4, SOX2, MYC and KLF4. All the established hiPSC lines showed normal karyotype, pluripotency and differentiation capacity.Human induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells expressing Cas9 protein are valuable for the pathogenic mechanism study and drug discovery. These cells can be efficiently induced to differentiate into disease cell models with specific mutations through adding designed sgRNAs. Here, we generated a human gene-editable iPS cell line by gene editing method that Cas9 gene driven by Tet-on operator was perfectly integrated into the human AAVS1 safe harbor locus. The established Cas9 expression iPS cell line named as WMUi013-A can express endogenous pluripotent markers, has the ability to differentiate into the three germ layers, and possesses a normal karyotype.Drug checking is a service for people who use drugs that includes product analysis and an individual interview including results feedback and harm reduction counselling. It uses different analytical methods but few studies demonstrate their value in current practice. The main objective of this work is to compare the analytical performance of IR spectroscopy to laboratory reference method in the context of drug checking in a harm reduction centre. The secondary objectives are to carry out a description of the people who use drugs requesting a product analysis, and to compare the assumed compositions of products purchased with their real compositions. During 2018, all requests for drug testing analysis were included for on-site analysis by IR spectrometry in a harm reduction center and verified by the reference method (UPLC-HRMS) at Bordeaux University Hospital Center. Socioeconomic and product data were also collected. One hundred and thirty-six samples were collected. The results obtained with IR and UPLC-HRMS were compared. IR spectrometry results did not match with reference method in 8 % (n=11) of cases, corresponding to blotters, cannabis and some psychoactive substances present in mixture or in small quantities. Among the products collected, only 5.1 % (n=7) did not correspond to the declared product, either alone or with adulterants. The IR spectrometer allows a simple and rapid detection of at least one molecule, most often the one of interest. However, it is limited to powder and tablet type matrices and is not suitable for blotters, cannabis, mixed or low content substances for which high resolution mass spectrometry remains the reference method.

Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a congenitally inherited disease characterized by progressive muscle damage and loss of function in children, which currently has no cure. Parents of children with DMD go through significant challenges when caring for a child with this condition.

The aim of this study was to explore the lived experience of Jordanian parents caring for a child with DMD.

We utilized qualitative, descriptive, phenomenological design. Ten pairs of parents of children with DMD were interviewed at their homes from the southern region of Jordan. The Participant verbal as well as nonverbal cues were recorded during the interview. Data were analyzed using Colaizzi's 7-step method.

Parents experienced psychosocial, emotional, and financial problems, which affected family dynamics and the quality of life. Themes emerged were face the new disease, caring for our child and handling the situation, staying in contact with the outside world, and career options and opportunities.

Parents experienced feelings of stress and anxiety mixed with emotions of hopelessness.
