To screen pregnant women at risk of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection during delivery using reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test and serum immunoglobulin (Ig) testing.
Between March 31 st and August 31 st of 2020, consecutive pregnant women admitted for labor and delivery in a single hospital were screened for SARS-CoV-2 with nasopharyngeal RT-PCR swab tests and detection of serum IgG and IgM.
We studied 266 pregnant women admitted for labor and delivery. The prevalence of acute or past SARS-CoV-2 infection was 9.0 %, including (i) two cases with respiratory symptoms of SARS-Co-V-2 infection and positive RT-PCR; (ii) four asymptomatic women with positive RT-PCR without clinical symptoms and negative serological tests between two and 15 weeks later; and (iii) two women with false positive RT-PCR due to technical problems. All newborns of the 6 pregnant women with RT-PCR positive had negative RT-PCR and did not require Neonatal Intensive Care Unit admission. THD Anopress® is a new portable anal manometry device which can be used in an outpatient clinic setting. In this study, we aimed to STUDY DESIGN A retrospective analysis was conducted of women with OASI seen in a specialist clinic at 3- and 6-months post-delivery from November 2016 to December 2019. 72 women who attended their 6-month appointment and underwent anal manometry with Anopress were included. St Mark's Faecal incontinence score (FI) was calculated and for the purpose of analysis patients were classified into two groups - FI score less than 5 and 5 or more. EAUSS findings were classified as sphincter defect or no defect. RAVP and MSP were measured with Anopress and compared with the variables (symptoms and EAUSS findings) using the Mann-Whitney U test.
A total of 72 women were included in the study. There were 19 (27 %), 41 (57 %), 6 (8 %) and 6 (8 %) 3a, 3b, 3c and 4th degree perineal tears respectively. The median RAVP was 17 mm Hg (Inter-Quartile Range 10.75-24 mmHg) and median MSP was 47.5 mm Hg (IQR 33-68 mmHg). 38 patients (53 %) had a demonstrable sphincter defect on EAUSS. 37 patients (51.3 %) had FI score < 5 and 35 patients (48.6 %) had FI score of 5 or more. RAVP and MSP were significantly lower with EAUSS demonstrable sphincter defect (p < 0.001). Symptom severity correlated with RAVP (p = 0.016) though its correlation with MSP was not statistically significant (p = 0.096).

Given the increasing research interest in ultrasound plantar aponeurosis (PA) thickness measurements, this study aimed to analyze the inter and intra-rater reliability of independent sonograms and to identify the error related to the image analysis procedure.
Twenty-one healthy men participated in this study. Imaging of PA consisted of two independent sonograms per subject. Two raters (R1 and R2) evaluated each sonogram twice using standardized steps. Precision of the image analysis procedure was analyzed using the Bland and Altman plot and Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC). Agreement estimates and ICC were used to assess absolute and relative inter and intra-rater reliability.
Reliability of PA thickness was found to depend strongly on the number of images acquired per subject. Intra-rater agreement for single measurements were 0.696 (R1) and 0.495 (R2), whereas average measurements yielded values of 0.821 (R1) and 0.662 (R2), respectively. Other reported indications for surgery in early stage of TB foot and ankle include resection of lesion not responding to chemotherapy and debridement of lesions close to the articular surface, as surgical debridement might halt progression and joint invasion, avoiding worsening of the prognosis. The success of arthroscopic treatment for infectious arthritis with decreased morbidity and postoperative pain makes arthroscopy an excellent alternative to open surgery.
