Notably, the incidence of Grade 1/2 HFS was not statistically significant between the two groups (26/51 vs. 32/54, 52.0% vs. 59.2%, P=0.194).
The incidence of severe HFS among individuals using oral capecitabine can be reduced by the prophylactic treatment of EVOSKIN PSMC, this treatment is reasonable and acceptable for patients with capecitabine chemotherapy.

Alopecia areata (AA) is highly unpredictable, and therapeutic efficacy remains variable, which often prompts patients to seek alternative therapies. Plum-blossom needling has been widely used for thousands of years. The purpose of this meta-analysis was to critically evaluate the add-on effect of plum-blossom needling in AA and compared it with that of conventional treatment, which would provide guidance for AA therapy.
We searched PubMed, Embase, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and WanFang database. We included randomized controlled trials that evaluated the add-on effect of plum-blossom needling treatment compared with conventional treatment alone group for AA. The risk of bias was assessed using the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions. We also evaluated the relative risk (RR) and confidence interval (CIs) of response rate (any regrowth, major regrowth, and complete regrowth) between the plum-blossom needling add-on and the conventional control groups.
Finally, esigned research is required to evaluate the optimal plum-blossom needling treatment procedure.
Our meta-analysis showed that the combinations of plum-blossom needling provided moderate positive add-one effects in AA patients. Further well-designed research is required to evaluate the optimal plum-blossom needling treatment procedure.
MicroRNA (miRNA) is a class of small-molecule RNA that can regulate gene expression at post-transcription level. It is involved in the genesis and development of multiple diseases. The aim of this paper was to explore the mechanisms of miR-339 in coronary heart disease (CHD).
In this study, we enrolled patients with CHD from Beijing Chaoyang Hospital and performed animal experiments on CHD rats. In vitro experiments, such as histopathologic assay, quantitative real-time PCR assay, luciferase reporter assay, western blotting assay, and immunofluorescence assay were carried out to characterize the contents and associations of miR-339, Nrf2, FOXO3, and Sirt2 in CHD samples and cells. In vivo model was also established on rats.
In CHD rat, miR-339 was up-regulated compared with control group. The expression of miR-339 up-regulation increased oxidative stress in vitro model via suppression of Sirt2/Nrf2/FOXO3. However, down-regulation of miR-339 expression inhibited oxidative stress in vitro model via activation of Sirt2/Nrf2/FOXO3. The Sirt2 or Nrf2 inhibitor reduced the protective effect of miR-339 down-regulation on oxidative stress in vitro model.
Down-regulation miR-339 may be the new targets to treat CHD through Nrf2/FOXO3 targeting Sirt2, and miR-339 may be a potential biomarker of CHD.

However, after the treatment, the patient may experience pain, inflammation, swelling and redness at the injection site. Navitoclax In this case, we addressed deep vein thrombosis (DVT) after BoNT treatment of the upper limb. A male aged 37 years had spasticity and dystonia in his left upper extremity. BoNT-A 100 U was injected into the left biceps brachii and an equal amount into the brachialis to relieve spasticity. After three days, he developed redness and painful swelling in the left upper arm and the next day, through the upper extremity computed tomography venography, DVT was identified in the left cephalic vein. The thrombus resolved after the anticoagulation therapy with rivaroxaban (Xarelto). We hypothesized the role of mainly three mechanisms in the development of DVT in this case repetitive strenuous activity, relative stasis due to reduced muscle tone, and possible direct mechanical damage to the vessel wall.
To investigate the effect of aqua therapy resistance exercise on arm volume, pain, and shoulder range of movements in post-mastectomy lymphedema.
This was a single-blind randomized controlled trial. Fifty eligible breast cancer survivors (median, 10 years after surgery) with lymphedema (median, 21% inter-limb difference) were assigned randomly to group A (n=25) or control group B (n=25). The study group underwent 60 minutes of aqua therapy exercise comprising of warm-up for 10 minutes, 40 minutes of strengthening exercises, and 10 minutes of cooling down, three times a week for 8 weeks. The control group underwent 60 minutes of land-based exercise three times a week for 8 weeks. Arm volume calculated by measuring the arm circumference, shoulder flexion, and abduction range of motion (ROM), and pain using a visual analog scale (VAS) were assessed at baseline and after 8 weeks of treatment.
There was a statistically significant difference in limb volume, shoulder flexion and abduction ROM, and VAS scores in favor of the study group (p<0.001) after 8 weeks of intervention. The mean±standard deviation for limb volume, shoulder flexion, abduction, and pain score were 2,108.71±200.97 mL, 169.68°±4.54°, 150.44°±3.92°, and 3.16±1.1 in the study group and 2,256.41±186.94 mL, 147.36°±5.32°, 131.32°±4.38°, and 5.68±0.94 in the control group, respectively.
Adding aqua therapy resistance exercise to routine physical therapy might be more effective in decreasing the limb volume and pain intensity and improving ROM of the shoulder in postmastectomy lymphedema.
