7) and the P95 (21) well above the acceptable limit (1), indicating the unacceptable non-carcinogenic risk of Cd exposure. In summary, high Cd exposure risk, rather than Ba, was observed for populations living in a large-scale active Ba mining area.
Surgical staging for apparent early-stage ovarian cancer includes systematic pelvic and para-aortic lymph node evaluation to detect occult stage III disease [1]. Although, lymphadenectomy procedure is associated with increased duration of surgery and a 13% risk of lymphocyst formation [2]. Sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy is still investigational, and no standardized approach has been studied. Recent mounting evidence has approved the applicability of SLN technique in early-stage ovarian cancer [3,4]. The objective of this video is to demonstrate a surgical technique for robotic performance of SLN biopsy in presumed early-stage ovarian cancer.
Stepwise demonstration of the robotic technique for SLN sampling in presumed early-stage ovarian cancer. This video report is part of an institutional, investigational review board-approved study.
Academic tertiary referral center.
This video presents our team's robotic technique for SLN sampling in a 37-year-old woman who presented to our center with a 10-cm riatients. In China, approximately half of total food waste is generated from the foodservice sector, which largely results from irresponsible consumer behavior when ordering food. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to better understand and intervene in Chinese consumers' ordering behavior in restaurants, ultimately contributing to minimizing food waste in China. Thus, the current study proposed a comprehensive model which incorporated habitual processes (individual ordering habits) and situational constraints (interventions from waiters) into the original theory of planned behavior (TPB) and the norm-activation (NAM) theoretical framework. This comprehensive model was tested on a sample of 527 consumers from Mainland China and was compared with the more mature models TPB, NAM, and a combined model of both. Results showed that the comprehensive model explained the highest degree of variation in over-ordering behavior. Individual ordering habits and interventions from the waiter were proven to be crucial in understanding the complicated decision-making process of ordering foods in restaurants. click here Based on the model, implications for research and practice are also discussed.
A Phase I, single-center investigation demonstrated that 8 weeks of antimycobacterial therapy improved sarcoidosis forced vital capacity (FVC). Safety and efficacy assessments have not been performed in a multicenter cohort.
The objective of this study was to determine the safety and efficacy of anti-mycobacterial therapy on sarcoidosis physiologic and immunologic endpoints.
and Methods In a double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter investigation, pulmonary sarcoidosis patients were randomly assigned to receive 16-weeks of concomitant Levofloxacin, Ethambutol, Azithromycin and Rifabutin (CLEAR) or matching placebo to investigate the effect on FVC. The primary outcome was a comparison of change in percent of predicted FVC among patients randomized to CLEAR or placebo, in addition to their baseline immunosuppressive regimen. Secondary outcomes included Six-minute Walk Distance (6MWD), Saint George's Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ), adverse events, and decrease in mycobacterial ESAT-6 immune responsessis patients.Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) created unparalleled challenges to anatomy education. Gross anatomy education has been particularly impacted given the traditional in-person format of didactic instruction and/or laboratory component. To assess changes in gross anatomy lecture and laboratory instruction, assessment, and teaching resources utilized as a result of Covid-19, a survey was distributed to gross anatomy educators through professional associations and listservs. Of the 67 survey responses received for the May-August 2020 academic period, 84% were from United States (US) institutions, while 16% were internationally based. Respondents indicated that in-person lecture decreased during Covid-19 (before 76%, during 8%, P 0.05). The use of digital teaching resources increased during Covid-19 (P less then 0.001), with reports of increased use of in-house created content, BlueLink, and Complete Anatomy software (P less then 0.05). While primarily representing US institutions, this study provided evidence of how anatomy educators adapted their courses, largely through virtual mediums, and modified laboratory protocols during the initial emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Individuals post-stroke might have high levels of post-stroke fatigue (PSF) which might affect their quality of life. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of post-stroke fatigue in Jordan and to comprehensively identify its possible associated factors.
A cross-sectional design was implemented through one-hour face-to-face assessment sessions. The modified fatigue impact scale, 12-item Short-Form Health Survey, Montreal Cognitive Assessment, Motor Assessment Log, Upper Extremity Fugl Meyer assessment, Nine Hole Peg Test, 10 Meter Walk Testing, active and passive goniometry, Hand-held dynamometry, and modified Ashworth scale were used as outcome measures. Prevalence of post-stroke fatigue and levels of quality of life were reported using descriptive analyses. Multiple variable linear regression analysis was used to identify PSF associated factors of post-stroke fatigue. P < 0.05 was considered significant for all statistical tests.
153 individuals with stroke participated in the study. A totaels. Other factors significantly associated with PSF included cognition status, sport participation, and spasticity. Healthcare practitioners working in neurorehabilitation should take PSF and its significant correlates into consideration when treating individuals with stroke. In a cohort of 82,898 participants from 60 countries, this study examined attitudes towards suicide among five religions (Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and other non-specific religions), while simultaneously considering two different dimensions of religiosity subjective religiosity and religious practices. At the national level, religiosity was an important negative predictor variable for suicide rates and an important positive predictor variable for negative attitudes towards suicide. At the individual level, however, attitudes towards suicide were found to vary significantly across the different religions. The findings emphasize the importance of considering religion perspectives and religiosity, along with its practices and subjective dimensions, in prevention and attention programmes to suicidal behaviour.
