Overexpression of UBE2T promoted proliferation, migration, invasion and glycolysis in BCa cells, while UBE2T knockdown showed the opposite results. Moreover, UBE2T knockdown suppressed tumor growth in mice. Further mechanism analysis shows that UBE2T participated in the regulation of BCa progression through affecting the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway.

UBE2T promoted proliferation, invasion and glycolysis through modulating PI3K/AKT signaling pathway in BCa, implying that UBE2T may provide a promising therapeutic target for the therapy of BCa.Objective We investigated whether recreational marijuana legalization (RML) in Oregon in 2015 and recreational marijuana and alcohol retail outlet density levels in Oregon counties were associated with increased alcohol and marijuana co-use and beliefs supportive of alcohol and marijuana use among adolescents. Method We conducted secondary analyses of biennial data collected from 11th graders who participated in the Student Wellness Survey (SWS) in 36 Oregon counties from 2010 to 2018 (N = 71,870). Multi-level logistic regression analyses assessed changes in past-30-day co-use of alcohol and marijuana, and alcohol- and marijuana-related beliefs after RML in counties with low, medium, and high densities of licensed recreational marijuana and alcohol retail outlets. We used post-RML 2016 and 2018 SWS data to examine whether beliefs accounted for any relationship of recreational marijuana and alcohol outlet density with alcohol and marijuana co-use. Results We found a significant post-RML increase in past-30-day alcohol and marijuana co-use in 2016 in counties with the highest density of recreational marijuana and alcohol retail outlets. There were significant post-RML increases in perceived risk and parent approval of alcohol and marijuana use. Analyses with 2016 and 2018 SWS data indicated that the relationship between level of recreational marijuana and alcohol retail outlet density and past-30-day alcohol and marijuana co-use was accounted for beliefs about marijuana and alcohol availability, approval by parents, and risk. selleck Conclusion RML and greater retail availability of recreational marijuana and alcohol were positively associated with alcohol and marijuana co-use among adolescents, and with beliefs favorable to alcohol and marijuana use.Traditional media, such as television and cinema, provide rich audiovisual input that is conducive to language acquisition, as research in the field has shown. Some brief considerations will be forwarded in relation to the impact of dubbing and of recent technological developments on language acquisition.Introduction The COVID-19 pandemic may have resulted in a change in life routines for tobacco users, but little is known about the rationale underlying these changes. Methods A convenience sample of young adults ages 21-28 (n = 29) were recruited online May-July 2020 to participate in semi-structured interviews about nicotine use behaviors specific to cigarillos and e-cigarettes. Audio-recorded interviews were 60-90 min long and were conducted remotely. Participants were asked opinions and behavioral effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on tobacco use. Verbatim transcripts and field notes from each interview were coded by a trained researcher using a codebook developed using inductive and deductive approaches. Thematic analysis was used to examine product access, use frequency, stress and use triggers. Results Most current users reported tobacco use stayed the same or increased since the pandemic and attributed this to being home more with greater time/boredom. COVID-19 impacted purchasing behaviors such as purchasing products in greater quantities, through the Internet, or at a different store due to perceived cleanliness. Few reported using tobacco products less frequently and not smoking in public due to the perception of risks associated with smoking and COVID-19, plus having to take off their mask to smoke. Lack of social use modified shared product use, flavors selected, and setting of use. Financial impacts included increased product costs and job loss. Few mentioned wanting to quit due to the pandemic. Discussion Current tobacco users have experienced major changes in their tobacco use routines during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This study was performed to explore major risk factors for traumatic fracture by comparing related data of hospitalized patients with traumatic fracture and patients with lumbar disc herniation.
Patients with traumatic fracture and patients with lumbar disc herniation requiring surgical treatment in the orthopedics department of our hospital from March to May 2018 were divided into a fracture group and a non-fracture group. Clinical data were collected from the two groups by questionnaires. Major risk factors for traumatic fracture were analyzed using multivariate logistic regression.
Univariate analysis showed statistically significant differences in family history of fracture, smoking history, drinking history, sex, sleep duration, chronic disease history, osteoporosis history, age, body mass index, occupation, and education level between the two groups. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that patients aged 25 to 44 years were more prone to traumatic fracture than patients aged ≥65 years, male patients were more prone to fracture than female patients, drinking alcohol was a risk factor for traumatic fracture, and sufficient sleep duration (>7 hours/night) was a protective factor for traumatic fracture.
