); (b) ability of data science to revise model strategies and analytics tools to tackle multiple data types and structures (electronic medical records, personal histories, hospitalization data, genomic from various specimens, imaging, etc.) and to offer data-agnostic solutions for patient outcomes prediction; (c) and model validation with independent datasets to ensure generalization of results, clinical value of new risk stratifications, and support to clinical decisions for highly individualized patient management. We propose a log analysis framework for test driving of autonomous vehicles. The log of a vehicle is a fundamental source to detect and analyze events during driving. A set of dumped logs are, however, usually mixed and fragmented since they are generated concurrently by a number of modules such as sensors, actuators and programs. This makes it hard to analyze them to discover latent errors that could occur due to complex chain reactions among those modules. Our framework provides a logging architecture based on formal specifications, which hierarchically organizes them to find out a priori relationships between them. Then, algorithmic or implementation errors can be detected by examining a posteriori relationships. However, a test in a situation of certain parameters, so called an oracle test, does not necessarily trigger latent violations of the relationships. In our framework, this is remedied by adopting metamorphic testing to quantitatively verify the formal specification. As a working proof, we define three metamorphic relations critical for testing autonomous vehicles and verify them in a quantitative manner based on our logging system.High doses of chemotherapy agents can cause adverse effects. To address this issue, drug-loaded vesicles with minimum drug loss, guided by an external element for precise delivery, are desired. Combinational therapy of both a focused ultrasound-induced drug delivery method and membrane fusogenic liposomes (MFLs) as drug delivery vehicles can satisfy such premises. In this study, we confirmed that the use of a small quantity of docetaxel-loaded membrane fusogenic liposomes (DTX-MFL) with focused ultrasound can induce better antitumor response in a xenograft mouse model compared to conventional docetaxel monotherapy and DTX-MFL only.Experimental findings obtained by FTIR and Raman spectroscopies on montmorillonite-water mixtures at three concentration values are presented. To get some insight into the hydrogen bond network of water within the montmorillonite network, FTIR and Raman spectra have been collected as a function of time and then analyzed following two complementary approaches An analysis of the intramolecular OH stretching mode in the spectral range of 2700-3900 cm-1 in terms of two Gaussian components, and an analysis of the same OH stretching mode by wavelet cross-correlation. The FTIR and Raman investigations have been carried as a function of time for a montmorillonite-water weight composition (wt%) of 20%-80%, 25%-75%, and 35%-65%, until the dehydrated state where the samples appear as a homogeneous rigid layer of clay. In particular, for both the FTIR and Raman spectra, the decomposition of the OH stretching band into a "closed" and an "open" contribution and the spectral wavelet analysis allow us to extract quantitative information on the time behavior of the system water content. It emerges that, the total water contribution inside the montmorillonite structure decreases as a function of time. However, the relative weight of the ordered water contribution diminishes more rapidly while the relative weight of the disordered water contribution increases, indicating that a residual water content, characterized by a highly structural disorder, rests entrapped in the montmorillonite layer structure for a longer time. find more From the present study, it can be inferred that the montmorillonite dehydration process promotes the layer self-assembly.Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are very effective in improving the performance of cement-based materials. Mechanical properties and pore structure were investigated for cement mortar with CNTs. Meanwhile, the composite morphology of CNT-cement material and the evolution of hydration products were observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM), and the quantitative relationship between mechanical properties and pore structure was analyzed. The results indicated that the strength of mortar increased with the addition of 0.05% CNTs and decreased when the fraction of CNTs increased to 0.5%. The porosity of mortar with dispersed CNTs increased significantly, as these pores may be introduced by the dispersant. The quantitative relationship between porosity and strength proved that the increased porosity is the reason for the decreased strength of mortar with 0.5% CNT content, while mortar matrix strength with 0.05% and 0.5% CNTs increased by 44.03% and 71.18%, respectively. SEM images show that CNTs are dispersed uniformly in the mortar without obvious agglomeration and that the CNTs and hydration products form a meshwork structure, which is the mechanism by which CNTs can enhance the strength of the cement matrix.A gradient composite laminate that was composed of two‑phase fibers, a shape memory alloy (SMA), and graphite was prepared to investigate modal performance and improve vibration behavior. The stress‑strain relation of the single‑layer composite plates was derived from Kirchhoff thin plate theory and the material constitutive of the SMA. A gradient distribution model and the eigenvalue equations of gradient composite laminates were developed. The influence of the fiber component content gradient distribution, pre‑strain, the two‑phase fiber volume fraction, and geometric parameters on the modal performance was analyzed. This study provides a method to avoid the structural resonance of composite laminates that are embedded with an SMA through the gradient distribution of two‑phase fiber content that leads to the interaction of the material properties. How to proceed with a clinically asymptomatic modular Metha® Ti alloy stem with dual taper CoCr neck adapter in case of acetabular revision? To systematically answer this question the status of research and appropriate diagnostic methods in context to clinically symptomatic and asymptomatic dual taper stem-neck couplings has been evaluated based on a systematic literature review. A retrieval analysis of thirteen Metha® modular dual taper CoCr/Ti alloy hip stems has been performed and a rational decision making model as basis for a clinical recommendation was developed. From our observations we propose that in cases of acetabular revision, that for patients with a serum cobalt level of > 4 µg/L and a Co/Cr ratio > 3.6, the revision of the modular dual taper stem may be considered. Prior to acetabular revision surgery a systematic diagnostic evaluation should be executed, using specific tests such as serum metal (Co, Cr) ion analysis, plain antero-posterior and lateral radiographs and cross-sectional imaging modalities (Metal Artefact Reduction Sequence Magnetic Resonance Imaging).
