Weeds are one of the main problems in the cropping systems of the Rolling Pampa (Argentina), where glyphosate resistant varieties of soybean sown with no-tillage system became the most important crop in the rotation. The challenge to solve this problem is to apply alternative approaches that both reduce weediness and the use of chemicals. Thus, the objectives of this work were i) to study the impact of crop rotation intensification on the species composition and richness of weed communities and to identify the relationship with some environmental (soil mineral organic matter) and agronomic variables (intensification, cereal crops in the rotation, biomass production and herbicide applications) and ii) to quantify the use and environmental risk of herbicides related to the intensification of crop rotations. From 2012 to 2019, four rotations were performed on three farms combining crops (soybean, maize, wheat and field pea), cover crops (oats and hairy vetch) and mixed pastures. During spring 2018 and autumn 201sification by increasing cover crops, winter crops, cereal crops and pastures in the rotations would be a useful tool to manage weeds since the use of herbicides can be replaced by increasing the IIR without variations in weed abundance. The relationship between the firing of the grid cell and mesoscopic neural oscillations is one of the key issues to understand the neural mechanism of grid cells. Previous studies have focused more on the correspondence between neuronal firing and phases of oscillations, such as phase precession. There are also some conclusions about the relationship between the activity of grid cells and the intensity of neural oscillations, such as the disappearance of grid pattern caused by the blocking of theta rhythm, but the correlation between the firing rates of grid cells and the narrowband power of neural oscillations or the broadband LFP power is still scarce. Through analyzing the records of spike times of grid cells and local entorhinal EEG obtained by Hafting et al., in the spatial navigation experiment, we find that grid cells are, to a large proportion, a kind of broadband-shift neurons, and the positive correlation between grid cell activity and power of low theta and gamma bands was observed. These results have well verified, promoted, and connected many scattered research conclusions, such as the broadband shift phenomenon of hippocampal neurons, the influence of low theta activity on the firing pattern of grid cells, and the positive correlation between single-cell activity and gamma-band activity. This work is of great significance for the study of the neural mechanism of grid cells at the micro and mesoscopic levels, and may also inspire the use of indicators such as broadband power as markers for grid cell activity.Thraustochytrids are getting increasingly popular due to their high potential role as alternative producers of the high-valued ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). While most thraustochytrids prefer glucose as the major carbon source, few strains have been reported to prefer fructose. One such strain is Aurantiochytrium sp. SW1. In this study, the effect of fructose on DHA accumulation by SW1 was investigated using a two-level full factorial design. Besides, biomass, lipid and DHA accumulation profiles of SW1 cultivated in fructose and glucose media were compared. Results revealed that fructose has a very significant positive effect on the volumetric DHA content. Meanwhile, its involvement in affecting DHA biosynthetic capacity, though significant, is not very profound. It was also found that when cultivated in fructose medium, SW1 had a less steep log phase compared to that of glucose medium. However, after 48h of cultivation, biomass and lipid accumulation in fructose medium outweighed the other. Volumetric DHA content in fructose medium at 96h was 11% higher than that of glucose medium. Overall, fructose was found to be a more suitable substrate for biomass, lipid and DHA accumulation in SW1 compared to the conventional source, glucose.Brasenia schreberi J. F. find more Gmel, a perennial floating-leaved macrophyte with high economic value as an aquatic vegetable, has been listed as first-class endangered species in China, mainly due to its habitat loss. Protected cultivation is a potential strategy to meet the demand of both plant conservation and vegetable market, whereas pre-experiments are still needed before series of parameters can be properly set for the large-scale growth of the plants indoor. Light quality is one of the major factors controlling the development of plants and consequently becomes an important factor when planting B. schreberi indoor. This experiment used three artificial light sources to investigate the response of B. schreberi seedlings to different light qualities, including the red-blue LED light (red blue = 51, RB-LED), the white LED light (W-LED) and the white fluorescent (W-Fluo). Our results indicated that the responses of B. schreberi towards varied light qualities differed from those of most terrestrial plants. The total leaf number of the RB-LED treatment was the highest; the number of the submerged leaf and the rolled leaf of the RB-LED treatment was higher than that of the other two treatments, but the number of floating leaves was the lowest. Both the specific leaf weight and the pigment contents per unit leaf area were the lowest in the RB-LED treatment. Quantum yield of PSⅡ (ΦPSⅡ), electron transport rate (ETR) and photochemical quenching (qP) measured through light induction curves followed the sequence from high to low as W-Fluo > W-LED > RB-LED, whereas the trend of non-photochemical quenching (NPQ) reversed. The maximum potential ETR (Ps) and maximum ETR (ETRm) derived from ETR curves further verified the trends.Ca and P metabolic disorders during the egg-laying period can reduce egg production, impair eggshell quality, and even cause bone problems in hens; however, little is known regarding the capacity of duodenal and nephritic Ca and P absorption. Here, the levels of serum Ca and P metabolic indices and the expression of duodenal and renal Ca and P transporter genes were measured in hens at different egg-laying stages. The Ca, 25-(OH)-VD3, and 1,25-(OH)2-VD3 content increased during the peak (43 weeks of age) and late (72 weeks of age) egg-laying periods compared to that during the early (23 weeks of age) egg-laying period; however, there were no differences in Pi levels among the three egg-laying periods. Moreover, duodenal VDR and CaBP-D28k mRNA expression was markedly higher but NPt2b mRNA expression was markedly lower during the peak and late egg-laying periods than during the early egg-laying period. Furthermore, nephritic CaBP-D28k, PMCA1b, and FGFR1 mRNA expression was markedly higher but NPt2a and Cyp24a1 mRNA expression was markedly lower during the peak and late egg-laying periods than during the early egg-laying period.
