Repulsive guidance molecule-a (RGMa) is a member of glycosylphosphatidylinositol- (GPI-) anchored protein family, which has axon guidance function and is widely involved in the development and pathological processes of the central nervous system (CNS). On the one hand, the binding of RGMa and its receptor Neogenin can regulate axonal guidance, differentiation of neural stem cells into neurons, and the survival of these cells; on the other hand, RGMa can inhibit functional recovery of CNS by inhibiting axonal growth. A number of studies have shown that RGMa may be involved in the pathogenesis of CNS diseases, such as multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica spectrum diseases, cerebral infarction, spinal cord injury, Parkinson's disease, and epilepsy. Targeting RGMa can enhance the functional recovery of CNS, so it may become a promising target for the treatment of CNS diseases. This article will comprehensively review the research progression of RGMa in various CNS diseases up to date.Biosurfactants are a series of organic compounds that are composed of two parts, hydrophobic and hydrophilic, and since they have properties such as less toxicity and biodegradation, they are widely used in the food industry. Important applications include healthy products, oil recycling, and biological refining. In this research, to calculate the curves of rhamnolipid adsorption compared to Amberlite XAD-2, the least-squares vector machine algorithm has been used. Then, the obtained model is formed by 204 adsorption data points. Various graphical and statistical approaches are applied to ensure the correctness of the model output. The findings of this study are compared with studies that have used artificial neural network (ANN) and data group management method (GMDH) models. The model used in this study has a lower percentage of absolute mean deviation than ANN and GMDH models, which is estimated to be 1.71%.The least-squares support vector machine (LSSVM) is very valuable for investigating the breakthrough curve of rhamnolipid, and it can also be used to help chemists working on biosurfactants. Moreover, our graphical interface program can assist everyone to determine easily the curves of rhamnolipid adsorption on Amberlite XAD-2.

Between January 2016 and October 2018, sixty-four consecutive patients who underwent a total of 66 stenting procedures were screened for symptomatic and asymptomatic atherosclerotic VAOS. Of these patients, 57 had complete follow-up data. The baseline patient demographics and morphological features of the VAO were recorded. Potential factors influencing ISR, including conventional cerebrovascular disease risk factors, were assessed, together with outcome events including recurrent transient ischemic attack (TIA), stroke, and vascular-related mortality.

The average follow-up period was 13.2 ± 4.6 months. Technical success was achieved in all interventions. The degree of stenosis was reduced from 77.2 ± 6.1% to 13.7 ± 8.9% after the procedure. ISR was detected in eight treated vessels (14.0%) and occlusion in two (5.3%) arteries. Of the 57 patients, one had an ischemic stroke and 5 had TIAs. The angle of the VAO at the subclavian artery was associated with the risk of restenosis (preoperative,

= 0.04; postoperative,

= 0.02).

Stenting is a feasible and effective treatment for VAOS. The angle of the VAO at the subclavian artery may contribute to the development of ISR.

To investigate the effects of 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) and intestinal flora on depression-like behavior induced by lead exposure in rats.

30 healthy SPF adult male SD rats were randomly divided into control group and lead exposure group. The depression-like behavior of rats was detected. The blood, striatum, and intestinal tissue were collected. The lead content was detected by ICP-MS. The mRNA expressions of ChgA, TPH1, 5-HT, and 5-HT3R were tested by qRT-PCR. The content of 5HT was checked by HPLC-ECD. The content of 5-HT3R was detected by ELISA. The protein expressions of 5-HT, 5-HT3R, ChgA, and TPH were gauged by immunohistochemistry. Fecal samples were collected, and the composition of intestinal flora in experimental rats was analyzed by 16 s RNA metagene sequencing.

Lead exposure can greatly cause depression. The content of 5-HT in blood and striatum in the lead exposure group decreased, and the expression levels of 5-HT, 5-HT3 R, ChgA, and TPH in the intestine decreased distinctly. find more Compared with the control group, the distribution of a-polymorphism related indexes Simpson, Chao1, Shannon, and ACE in rats with depressive-like behavior after lead exposure was significantly increased; in the lead exposure group, there were 61 different operational taxonomic units (OUTs) in intestinal flora at the family level. Based on linear discriminant analysis, it was found that the key bacteria were Lactobacillaceae and Bifidobacteriaceae, and their abundance decreased evidently in the lead exposure group.

Lead exposure improves depressive-like behavior by affecting intestinal flora and regulating neurotransmitter 5-HT through the intestinal-brain axis.

The aim of the study was to investigate the antiprostate cancer effects and mechanism of ineupatolide (T-21), a natural product isolated from the Compositae plant

L., on PC-3 human prostate cancer cells.

The effect of T-21 on the proliferation of PC-3 cells was detected by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide, cell migration, and invasion experiments; the morphology of cell apoptosis was observed by Hoechst-propidium iodide staining; the effects of T-21 on PC-3 cell apoptosis and the cell cycle were evaluated by flow cytometry; and the effect of T-21 on the expression levels of phosphorylated protein kinase B (p-AKT), AKT, X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis protein (xlAP), procaspase-3, and poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) in PC-3 cells was measured by western blotting.

T-21 significantly inhibited the proliferation of cells, and its half-maximal inhibitory concentrations at 12, 24, and 48 h were 38.46 ± 1.01, 24.63 ± 0.70, and 7.36 ± 0.58

M, respectively. T-21 may promote cell apoptosis in a concentration-dependent manner and block the cell cycle in the G2 and S phases.
