2% (108/229) of the remaining training institutions wanted to introduce teleradiology systems in the future. CONCLUSION Teleradiology using ICT is already a part of Japanese radiologists' workload. Work-style reform may progress with the use of ICT, such as part-time radiologists, and board-certified individuals who stop working as radiologists, becoming full-time radiologists.PURPOSE To propose a new strategy to prevent communication errors caused by unread radiology reports. MATERIALS AND METHODS Medical emergencies were prefixed with triple stars on radiology reports, and the attending physician was contacted by telephone. Semi-emergencies (medical issues needing addressing within 2 weeks) were prefixed with double stars. Two weeks later, the duty radiologist would search the double-starred reports, and reviewed relevant patient charts to confirm that the information had been appropriately understood and acted upon. If not, the duty radiologist contacted the referral physician by telephone. One year after implementing this strategy, we retrospectively evaluated 1-year worth of data for all the reports of CT, MRI, nuclear medicine and ultrasonography (April 2018 to March 2019). RESULTS Three hundred and twenty-one reports were double starred (0.52% of 62,143 reports, 1.32 reports/day), and transmission of relevant information was incomplete in 23 cases (7.17%). Causes of incomplete transmission were (1) reports not being opened (n = 17), (2) relevant information on reports being overlooked (n = 5), and (3) the wrong report being opened (n = 1). Sixty-five reports contained triple stars (0.10%, 0.27 reports/day). CONCLUSION The proposed strategy may be effective in preventing communication errors in radiology reports with important findings requiring semi-emergency clinical action.A novel coronavirus (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2) causes a cluster of pneumonia cases in Wuhan, China. It spread rapidly and globally. CT imaging is helpful for the evaluation of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pneumonia. Infection control inside the CT suites is also important to prevent hospital-related transmission of COVID-19. We present our experience with infection control protocol for COVID-19 inside the CT suites.BACKGROUND The aim of this review was to summarize and identify the variations in the effectiveness of psychological interventions on adherence, metabolic control, and coping with stress in adolescents with type 1 diabetes (T1D). U0126 in vivo METHODS An electronic search of literature was performed using PubMed (NLM), Embase (Ovid), CINAHL Plus (EBSCOhost), PsycINFO (Ovid), and Google Scholar. The search was limited to include articles reported the effect of one of the psychological interventions cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), coping skills training (CST), stress management, or psychotherapy intervention. The report included peer-reviewed articles published in English from January 1990 until May 2019 in adolescents with T1D, and summarizes the results of 24 studies that met the inclusion criteria. RESULTS Psychological interventions showed differential effects on adherence, metabolic control, and coping with stress in adolescents with T1D. Behavioral interventions using principles of CBT appear to have a superior positive effect on regimen adherence compared with other types of psychological protocols. In contrast, metabolic control was significantly improved with the implementation of CST and some forms of CBT. Stress management and psychotherapy interventions showed significant promises for adolescents to cope with their diabetes-related daily stressors. CONCLUSIONS However, the findings may add some promises to diabetes management in adolescents, additional research to understand the effect of these interventions is needed.Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUC-MSCs) are a pivotal source of therapeutically active cells for regenerative medicine due to their multipotent differentiation potential, immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory proprieties, as well as logistical collection advantages without ethical concerns. However, it remains poorly understood whether MSCs from different compartments of the human umbilical cord are therapeutically superior than others. In this study, MSCs were isolated from Wharton's jelly (WJ-MSCs), perivascular region (PV-MSCs) and cord lining (CL-MSCs) of hUC. These cells expressed the mesenchymal markers (CD90, CD73), stemness marker (OCT4), endothelial cell adhesion molecular marker (CD146), and the monocyte/macrophage marker (CD14) found within the MSC population implicated as a key regulator of inflammatory responses to hypoxia, was displayed by WJ-, PV-, and CL-MSCs respectively. A direct consequence of oxygen and glucose deprivation during stroke and reperfusion is impaired mitochondrial function that contributes to cellular death. Emerging findings of mitochondria transfer provide the basis for the replenishment of healthy mitochondria as a strategy for the treatment of stroke. Cell Energy Phenotype and Mito Stress tests were performed the energy metabolic profile of the three MSC populations and their mitochondrial function in both ambient and OGD cell culture conditions. PV-MSCs showed the highest mitochondrial activity. CL-MSCs were the least affected by OGD/R condition, suggesting their robust survival in ischemic environment. In this study, MSC populations in UC possess comparable metabolic capacities and good survival under normal and hypoxic conditions suggesting their potential as transplantable cells for mitochondrial-based stem cell therapy in stroke and other ischemic diseases.BACKGROUND Many anti-nausea treatments are available for chronic gastrointestinal syndromes, but data on efficacy and comparative effectiveness are sparse. AIMS To conduct a sectional survey study of patients with chronic nausea to assess comparative effectiveness of commonly used anti-nausea treatments. METHODS Outpatients at a single center presenting for gastroenterology evaluation were asked to rate anti-nausea efficacy on a scale of 0 (no efficacy) to 5 (very effective) of 29 commonly used anti-nausea treatments and provide other information about their symptoms. Additional information was collected from the patients' chart. The primary outcome was to determine which treatments were better or worse than average using a t test. The secondary outcome was to assess differential response by individual patient characteristics using multiple linear regression. RESULTS One hundred and fifty-three patients completed the survey. The mean efficacy score of all anti-nausea treatments evaluated was 1.73. After adjustment, three treatments had scores statically higher than the mean, including marijuana (2.
