Qualitative interviews will be undertaken with participants to explore their views of the treatments under investigation and trial processes.Eligibility and recruitment to the study will be analysed to inform the feasibility of a definitive trial. Completion rates of the measurement instruments will be assessed, as well as their sensitivity to change and the presence of floor or ceiling effects in this population, to inform the choice of the primary outcome for a definitive trial. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION Ethical approval for the study was given by the South West-Central Bristol NHS Research Ethics Committee on 2nd July 2018 (Ref; 18/SW/0135). The study will be reported in relevant specialist journals and through presentation at specialist conferences. TRIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER ISRCTN10649958. © Author(s) (or their employer(s)) 2020. This non-interventional study investigated occupational exposure to methoxyflurane in the hospital emergency department (ED) personnel during routine clinical practice. SETTING AND PARTICIPANTS The study was conducted in two hospital ED triage rooms in France over a 2-week and 3-week period, respectively. Low-dose methoxyflurane analgesia was self-administered by patients via the inhaler under the supervision of nursing staff, per routine clinical practice. An organic vapour personal badge sampler was attached to the uniform of the nurses working in the treatment rooms throughout an 8-hour shift (total of 140 shifts during the study period). Seven-day ambient air monitoring of each treatment room was also performed. Methoxyflurane levels adsorbed in each badge sampler were measured haler; further studies may inform exposure in other hospital ED settings. © Author(s) (or their employer(s)) 2020. SETTING Paediatric training workshops at a national paediatric conference in Nigeria. PARTICIPANTS All 200 healthcare workers who attended the workshop sessions were eligible to participate. Ademetionine A total of 161 surveys were completed (response rate 81%). PRIMARY AND SECONDARY OUTCOME MEASURES A paper-based 25-item cross-sectional survey on simulation-based training (SBT) was administered to a convenience sample of healthcare workers from secondary and tertiary healthcare facilities. RESULTS Respondents were mostly 31-40 years of age (79, 49%) and women (127, 79%). Consultant physicians (26, 16%) and nurses (56, 35%) were in both general (98, 61%) and subspecialty (56, 35%) practice. Most had 5-10 years of experience (62, 37%) in a tertiary care setting (72, 43%). Exposure to SBT varied by profession with physicians more likely raining in Nigeria. © Author(s) (or their employer(s)) 2020. Re-use permitted under CC BY. However, the association between lipid overaccumulation and ageing-related hypogonadism remains an undetermined concept. We aimed to provide an insight into the possible links between the lipid accumulation product (LAP) and late-onset hypogonadism (LOH). SETTING Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. PARTICIPANTS We included a population sample of 997 subjects aged 40 years or older. PRIMARY AND SECONDARY OUTCOME MEASURES The LAP was calculated by gender-specific equations using waist circumference (WC) and triglyceride (TG). LOH was defined by the presence of androgen deficiency symptoms and low serum total testosterone levels. RESULTS The prevalence of LOH was 9.4% in this population and gradually increased according to increasing LAP quartiles. Compared with subjects without LOH, ageing men with LOH had higher body mass index, WC, systolic blood pressure, percentage of subjects currently smoking, TG and follicle stimulating hormone and lower low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and sex hormone binding globulin. In multivariate logistic regression analysis, the adjusted ORs of LOH for increasing LAP quartiles 1-4 were 1.00 (reference), 1.10 (95% CI 0.45-2.69), 2.15 (95% CI 0.93-4.94) and 3.83 (95% CI 1.73-8.45), respectively. CONCLUSION Body lipid accumulation evaluated by the LAP is independently associated with the prevalence of LOH in middle-aged and elderly Chinese men. © Author(s) (or their employer(s)) 2020. Although some anticoagulation regimens have been used for patients during pregnancy with MHVs, no one is definitively superior among different regimens in recent studies. For a better understanding of the clinical treatment which anticoagulation regimen is more effective and safer during the pregnancy in patients with MHVs, a Bayesian network meta-analysis is necessary. METHODS AND ANALYSIS This protocol has been reported according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Protocols. Related studies until April 2019 will be searched in the following databases PubMed, Embase,SinoMed and the using the OVID interface to search for evidence-based medicine reviews. A clinical trial registry (www.ClinicalTrials.gov) was also searched for unpublished trials. Both experimentause this study will be based on literature. The results of this study will be published in a peer-reviewed journal. PROSPERO REGISTRATION NUMBER CRD42019130659. © Author(s) (or their employer(s)) 2020. Re-use permitted under CC BY-NC.
