Oriental lacquer is a natural polymeric coating with a satiny texture and excellent characteristics, such as chemical resistance and durability. However, the poor lightfastness resulted in the natural aromatic structures of the urushiol structures limited its suitability for outdoor application. This study aimed at the improvement of the lightfastness by adding the different hindered amine light stafbilizers (HALS) with 2 phr addition as well as the effects on the coating and film property of the refined oriental lacquers (RL). The Cryptomeria japonica plate, glass sheets, and the other substrates were used for finishing. The results showed that the lightfastness of RL film was obviously improved by adding 2 phr HALS of Bis(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidinyl) sebacate (H90) containing -NH group and Bis (1,2,2,6,6-pentamethyl-4-piperidinyl)-[[3,5-bis(1,1-dimethyl ethyl) -4-hydroxyphenyl] methyl] butylmalonate (H60) containing -NCH3 groups. The HALS additions increased the pH value of RL and improved the activities of laccase-catalyzed reaction. Meanwhile, the oxidative polymerization of the side chains of RL was inhibited, caused by a radical scavenging ability of HALS. The changes in the drying process affected not only the curing time, but also the film properties. Among the 2 phr additions of different HALS, the film containing H90 had the best lightfastness. Meanwhile, it kept the most similar properties with RL and shortened the drying time of RL, and it was selected as the best HALS addition under 2 phr in this study.A variety of disorders are known to be related with aortic geometry, among them abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). This work aims to present the main determinants of abdominal aortic diameter in a new cohort of families at high risk of AAA. The Triple-A Genomic Analysis (TAGA) study comprises 407 individuals related in 12 families. Each family was collected through a proband with AAA. We calculated heritability and genetic correlations between abdominal aortic diameter and clinical parameters. A genome-wide linkage scan was performed based on 4.6 million variants. A predictive model was calculated with conditional forest. Heritability of the abdominal aortic diameter was 34%. Old age, male sex, higher height, weight, creatinine levels in serum, and better lung capacity were the best predictors of aortic diameter. Linkage analyses suggested the implication of Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) and Betacellulin (BTC) genes with aortic diameter. selleck This is the first study to evaluate genetic components of variation of the aortic diameter in a population of AAA high-risk individuals. These results reveal EGFR, a gene that had been previously implicated in AAA, as a determinant of aortic diameter variation in healthy genetically enriched individuals, and might indicate that a common genetic background could determine the diameter of the aorta and future risk of AAA.PolyADP-ribosylation is a post-translational modification of proteins, and poly(ADP-ribose) (PAR) polymerase (PARP) family proteins synthesize PAR using NAD as a substrate. Poly(ADP-ribose) glycohydrolase (PARG) functions as the main enzyme for the degradation of PAR. In this study, we investigated the effects of Parg deficiency on tumorigenesis and therapeutic efficacy of DNA damaging agents, using mouse ES cell-derived tumor models. To examine the effects of Parg deficiency on tumorigenesis, Parg+/+ and Parg-/- ES cells were subcutaneously injected into nude mice. The results showed that Parg deficiency delays early onset of tumorigenesis from ES cells. All the tumors were phenotypically similar to teratocarcinoma and microscopic findings indicated that differentiation spectrum was similar between the Parg genotypes. The augmented anti-tumor therapeutic effects of X-irradiation were observed under Parg deficiency. These results suggest that Parg deficiency suppresses early stages of tumorigenesis and that Parg inhibition, in combination with DNA damaging agents, may efficiently control tumor growth in particular types of germ cell tumors.Attachment changing in demolition robots has a high docking accuracy requirement, so it is hard for operators to control this process remotely through the perspective of a camera. To solve this problem, this study investigated positioning error and proposed a method of error compensation to achieve a highly precise attachment changing process. This study established a link parameter model for the demolition robot, measured the error in the attachment changing, introduced a reference coordinate system to solve the coordinate transformation from the dock spot of the robot's quick-hitch equipment to the dock spot of the attachment, and realized error compensation. Through calculation and experimentation, it was shown that the error compensation method proposed in this study reduced the level of error in attachment changing from the centimeter to millimeter scale, thereby meeting the accuracy requirements for attachment changing. This method can be applied to the remote-controlled attachment changing process of demolition robots, which provides the basis for the subsequent automatic changing of attachments. This has the potential to be applied in nuclear facility decommissioning and dismantling, as well as other radioactive environments.Chagas disease and leishmaniasis are neglected tropical diseases caused by kinetoplastid parasites of Trypanosoma and Leishmania genera that affect poor and remote populations in developing countries. These parasites share similar complex life cycles and modes of infection. It has been demonstrated that the particular group of phosphorylating enzymes, protein kinases (PKs), are essential for the infective mechanisms and for parasite survival. The natural indolocarbazole staurosporine (STS, 1) has been extensively used as a PKC inhibitor and its antiparasitic effects described. In this research, we analyze the antikinetoplastid activities of three indolocarbazole (ICZs) alkaloids of the family of staurosporine STS, 2-4, and the commercial ICZs rebeccamycin (5), K252a (6), K252b (7), K252c (8), and arcyriaflavin A (9) in order to establish a plausive approach to the mode of action and to provide a preliminary qualitative structure-activity analysis. The most active compound was 7-oxostaurosporine (7OSTS, 2) that showed IC50 values of 3.
