A Built in Microwave Oven Combo Offers Convenience and Versatility

A microwave oven with built-in features combines your wall oven with your microwave into a single appliance. They can free up counter space and give your kitchen a classy look.

These models come with powerful broilers that cook food evenly. Their microwaves also allow food to be cooked quickly. These models have a variety of cooking options for different dishes.

Size

Combining the convenience of a microwave oven with the versatility of an oven on a wall with a built-in microwave and wall oven combination is a practical solution for many kitchens. Browse our full range of microwaves that combine with wall ovens to find the right fit for your home. Make sure to review the cutout specifications for the appliance you choose and follow the installation guide to make sure it fits in your space. Our microwave and oven sets include both microwave and oven models in a variety colors, styles and finishes that will complement any decor. Also, look out for features like smart and convenient digital controls, a power cook function and built in self-cleaning options that will help you reduce time.

Convenience

A microwave oven with built-in features will save you counter space and make your kitchen appear more modern appearance. It can be used to cook leftovers, frozen food, and pre-packaged foods. It also eliminates the requirement for an additional countertop appliance or large wall ovens that are stand-alone. A combination microwave oven could also be a good option if you want to upgrade your kitchen without undergoing any major renovation projects.

Microwave ovens are available in different styles to fit your kitchen decor. Some have a left-to-right swing-out door, while others feature a drop-down style that opens in the same manner as an oven that is traditional. You can also get an oven and microwave that opens inside a drawer, like a cabinet. Microwave drawers are simple to reach and are great for smaller spaces where you want to keep your microwave from taking up valuable counter space.

Combination microwaves also come with various features to aid in meal preparation and more practical. Some models have a sensor steam mode that alters the temperature and time of your food automatically to ensure you get perfectly steamed vegetables and fish. Other features include a broil element that allows you to quickly melt cheese or cook your favorite food, as well as Crispwave(tm) technology that can grill or bake food and make it crisp.

Think about how often you'll make use of each feature when choosing a microwave-oven combination. If you'll be using the oven more than the microwave, you may prefer an extra wall oven. It's also important to remember that a combination appliance generally has less capacity than a conventional standalone oven.

Once you've decided on an oven and microwave combination to satisfy your needs, think about the installation process. Over- built in microwave best are positioned over your stovetop or cooktop, and plug into a power outlet. Built-in microwaves are installed on walls or cabinets in your kitchen. Some models even have trim kits that let you seamlessly blend your new microwave with the cabinets in your kitchen.

Energy Efficiency

A built-in microwave oven combo is an ideal space-saving solution for those with smaller kitchens, regardless of whether they are in a house or apartment. They can help to save cabinet space that would normally be occupied by two separate appliances and they can also help to reduce energy usage. They are more energy efficient than traditional wall-mounted ovens and provide the most efficient method to cook. They can also be used to cook food and warm food items. This reduces the requirement for other appliances, such as toasters or warming plates.

DOE performs several analyses when evaluating potential amendments to energy conservation standards. These include assessments of technology and market, screening analysis, engineering analyses and national impact analysis (NIA). In this SNOPR DOE will use its engineering analysis of microwave ovens to determine the level of efficiency improvement is feasible for this product type.

In the engineering analysis, DOE will compare the design parameters of a microwave against a set of energy performance goals. The engineering analysis will then determine the maximum improvement in energy efficiency that is technologically feasible based on the most advanced microprocessor-controlled model available on the market or in working prototypes, or the maximum reduction in energy consumption that is technically achievable with the current technologies available for this product class.

As part of NIA, DOE will assess the effects on consumers, including lifecycle cost savings, and simple payback time (PBP). DOE will utilize its Government Regulatory Impact Model with an adaptation for microwave ovens to calculate the industry's net present value ("NPV").

DOE will also evaluate the effects on manufacturers and will employ an altered industry cash flow model specifically tailored to this type of product in order to estimate manufacturing NPV. Additionally, DOE will consider the potential impacts on small business manufacturers and other manufacturer subgroups to identify any that may be disproportionally affected by these proposals.

In addition, DOE will consider whether the tests for microwave ovens should be revised to include active mode energy use as well as an active mode energy use measure. The current tests only include standby mode power consumption.

Design

Wall ovens are based on the circulation of hot air evenly while microwaves rely on waves to cause the water molecules in food items to vibrate and produce heat. Combination wall ovens blend these two distinct appliances into one unit that can be used to save kitchen space and gives an elegant, modern look. However, you must carefully consider your goals and budget before purchasing a combination wall oven. Several of the combination wall ovens we have rated have issues with performance or design.
