Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is used in radiotherapy planning, and increasingly in on-treatment guidance. The potential for the MR environment to be hazardous, without stringent safe working practices, is real. Guidance suggests all workers in MRI undergo annual safety training. To facilitate a tangible MR safety program, an electronic learning module was created and evaluated.
An existing presentation, normally delivered face-to-face, was modified and questions added to test knowledge. The module was delivered and feedback collected, together with answers to the questions, over three phases to ensure deliverability, clarity, and robustness. These comprised an initial pilot phase for non-MR personnel, an evaluation phase for staff renewing annual MR safety training, and finally for new therapeutic radiographer graduates, a test-retest methodology.
Seven participants took part in the initial pilot phase, followed by thirty-one in the evaluation phase. Participants included radiographers (therapeutic ssive presentation, to an interactive teaching methodology. The e-learning module has now been implemented within the department.
Tinnitus can induce disabling psychological suffering, requiring an integrative multimodal approach, combining neuromodulation and psychotherapeutic methods. We sought to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy and acceptability of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in tinnitus.
This was a single-center prospective non-comparative study. Inclusion criteria comprised adult patient, with chronic tinnitus, Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI) score>17, causing psychological distress motivating active treatment after ineffective "classic" treatment (combining advice, sound therapy and first-line drug treatment), and agreement to EMDR therapy. Therapeutic efficacy was defined by a decrease in THI or Visual Analog Scale (VAS) scores. Treatment acceptability was defined by the rate of included patients who completed therapy.
Thirty-eight patients were included. Selleckchem Infigratinib There was a significant reduction of 53.5% in THI score in 78.9% of patients (P<0.0001; 64.8±20.8 before versus 31.8±24.7 after treatment), and of 51% in VAS score in 76.3% of patients (P<0.0001; 7.24±2.12 before versus 3.58±2.03 after treatment). The treatment acceptability was 86.8%.

Cytopathology fellows are required to enter their fine-needle aspiration (FNA) case numbers in an online data collection system, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Case Log system. This study reviewed this data to examine trends in FNA case numbers during fellowship training.
A retrospective review of the ACGME Accreditation Data System (ADS) FNA Case Log data was performed for academic years 2006-2019. For 2006-2016, total and average numbers of FNAs performed per academic year were available. After 2016, data also included the number of programs and trainees, national averages, standard deviation, minimum, median, maximum, and percentiles for the number of FNAs performed.
The number of FNAs documented by cytopathology fellows has gradually increased from 2006 (average 10.9) to 2013 (average 18.6) and dramatically increased in 2014 (average 38.0). Averages have remained greater than 30 FNAs documented per academic year since 2014, with some variation. However, a decline was observed in 2019, likely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma is a primary liver neoplasm whose only curative treatment is surgery. The objective of this study was to determine the prognostic factors for survival of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma treated surgically with curative intent.
Sixty-seven patients who had been treated surgically for this neoplasm were collected at Bellvitge University Hospital between 1996 and 2017. Epidemiological, clinical, surgical, anatomopathological, morbidity, mortality and survival data have been analysed.
Postoperative study reflects our centre's experience in the surgical treatment of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma over a period of 21 years. Lymphadenectomy was associated with increased morbidity, and vascular invasion in the pathological study was the most important risk factor in the survival analysis.
