Analyses informed by the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR) identified challenges in the outer and inner service settings, as well as at the individual and innovation level. Outer setting challenges were most prominent in the data, and one non-CFIR construct, macrosystemic characteristics arose inductively. In this pilot study, sixteen youth between ages 18 and 20 participated in semi-structured interviews, support mapping, and resiliency measurements to gather the experiences of the transition from foster care. Comparisons between those who chose initial transition supports and those who did not receive or delayed receiving transition supports were initially explored. Common themes emerged in participants' needs and perceived resiliency regardless of transition support services. All youth reported relationship, trust, and concern for well-being as highly important characteristics in transition team members. A need for earlier transition programming, decision-making opportunities, and life skills courses were important themes in transition programming needs. Both deficits have correlates in the network that includes connections between the cerebellum and the basal ganglia. In order to assess the physiological relationship between tremor and dystonia, we measured the activity of 727 pallidal single-neurons during deep brain stimulation surgery in patients with cervical dystonia without head oscillations, cervical dystonia plus jerky oscillations, and cervical dystonia with sinusoidal oscillations. Cluster analyses of spike-train recordings allowed classification of the pallidal activity into burst, pause, and tonic. Burst neurons were more common, and number of spikes within spike and inter-burst intervals was shorter in pure dystonia and jerky oscillation groups compared to the sinusoidal oscillation group. Pause neurons were more common and irregular in pure tremor group compared to pure dystonia and jerky oscillation groups. There was bihemispheric asymmetry in spontaneous firing discharge in pure dystonia and jerky oscillation groups, but not in sinusoidal oscillation group. These results demonstrate that the physiology of pallidal neurons in patients with pure cervical dystonia is similar to those who have cervical dystonia combined with jerky oscillations, but different from those who have cervical dystonia combined with sinusoidal oscillations. These results imply distinct mechanistic underpinnings for different types of head oscillations in cervical dystonia.Landfilling of municipal waste, an environmental challenge worldwide, results in the continuous formation of significant amounts of leachate, which poses a severe contamination threat to ground and surface water resources. Landfill leachate (LL) is generated by rainwater percolating through disposed waste materials and must be treated effectively before safe discharge into the environment. LL contains numerous pollutants and toxic substances, such as dissolved organic matter, inorganic chemicals, heavy metals, and anthropogenic organic compounds. Currently, LL treatment is carried out by a combination of physical, chemical, and microbial technologies. Microalgae are now viewed as a promising sustainable addition to the repertoire of technologies for treating LL. Photosynthetic algae have been shown to grow in LL under laboratory conditions, while some species have also been employed in larger-scale LL treatments. Treating leachate with algae can contribute to sustainable waste management at existing landfills by remediating low-quality water for recycling and reuse and generating large amounts of algal biomass for cost-effective manufacturing of biofuels and bioproducts.
