017). Fourteen patients (11 with SPS) required surgical reintervention and 8 (6 with SPS) required further BPV. There was no significant difference in the age at initial BPV, pre- and postprocedural gradients and interval until reintervention between groups.
This is the largest reported cohort of patients with NS undergoing BPV. Although BPV is often successful, the reintervention rates are high. SPS was a risk factor for reintervention.

Here we construct a unique CT cocrystal by using a persistent 2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) radical cation (ABTS+. ) as the electron acceptor. The strong persistency and electron affinity of ABTS+. endow a high degree of electron delocalization between ABTS+. and the 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine donor. Together with the intrinsic long-wavelength absorption of ABTS+. , the synthesized cocrystal can effectively capture the full solar spectrum and show distinguished photothermal efficiency. Such a cocrystal is further used for solar-driven interfacial evaporation, and a high evaporation rate of 1.407 kg m-2 h-1 and a remarkable solar-to-vapor efficiency of 97.0 % have been achieved upon 1 sun irradiation. This work indicates the enormous prospects for charge transfer-based functional materials through rational radical cation engineering. The spontaneous interconversion between covalent forces and noncovalent counterparts remains an unexplained mystery to date. Here we have discovered a marvelous transformation between them through halogen bonding using NI3 as a prototype. Our results show that the interaction strength of the NI3 dimer is 7.01 kcal mol-1 , demonstrating that it is a quite strong halogen bond. Molecular orbital analyses indicate that the frontier molecular orbitals result from strong mixing of the fragment orbitals, which may be the electronic structure basis for interconversion. Further studies on a series of NI3 oligomers (5-, 10-, 15-, 20-, 26-, 30-mer) show that the interconversion occurs approximately at 26-mer on the basis on bond distance, ELF, etc.; the interconversion is a gradual transformation and not a sudden one. This study provides more insights into the halogen bonding and the high explosivity of NI3 containing species.
Despite the growing recognition of the importance of health literacy, there is a lack of knowledge on the longitudinal association between health literacy and frailty. The present study explored whether limited health literacy increases the risk of developing pre-frailty and frailty among older adults.
Data were drawn from the Korean Frailty and Aging Cohort Study, a nationwide, population-based prospective cohort study of community-dwelling older Koreans. A baseline sample of 2808 adults aged 70-84 years was analyzed for the cross-sectional models, and 2278 participants in the 2-year follow-up assessment were included for the longitudinal analyses. Multinomial logistic regression models were used to evaluate the relative risk ratios of pre-frailty or frailty, where a robust group served as the reference category.
The findings showed that baseline limited health literacy was associated with an approximately 1.4-fold increased risk of developing pre-frailty after 2 years, even after adjusting for sociodemographic characteristics, health behaviors and health status. However, the longitudinal association between health literacy and frailty was not significant after adjusting for health-related factors.
Our findings point to the importance of promoting health literacy among older adults, and provide preliminary evidence that can inform the development of tailored public health strategies. Geriatr Gerontol Int 2022; 22 325-331.

Salts of the anions [R3 PbB(CN)3 ]- (R=Ph, Et) were isolated and found to be stable in air at room temperature. In the case of Me3 PbHal (Hal=Cl, Br), a mixture of the anions [Me4-n PbB(CN)3 n ]n- (n=1, 2) was obtained. Sapogenins Glycosides mouse The [Et3 PbB(CN)3 ]- ion undergoes stepwise dismutation in aqueous solution to yield the plumbate anions [Et4-n PbB(CN)3 n ]n- (n=1-4) and PbEt4 as by-product. The reaction rate increases with decreasing pH value of the aqueous solution or by bubbling O2 through the reaction mixture. Adjustment of the conditions allowed the selective formation and isolation of salts of all anions of the series [Et4-n PbB(CN)3 n ]n- (n=2-4) including the homoleptic tetraanion [PbB(CN)3 4 ]4- .
Parents of children scheduled for surgery often experience emotional distress and anxiety. This study aimed to explore parents' experiences of hospital care after their child's craniosynostosis surgery and their perception of support during the year after discharge.
A purposive sample of 19 parents of 12 children with nonsyndromic craniosynostosis, who had undergone surgery, was recruited from one of two national centers in Sweden. An interview was conducted ~1 year after the child's surgery, from September 2017 to August 2018. The interviews followed a semistructured interview guide, were recorded, transcribed verbatim, and analyzed using inductive content analysis.
The analysis yielded six categories with subcategories as follows (1) cared for and confident the hospital staff was perceived as kind, professional, and reliable. (2) Alone and abandoned sometimes, parents found it hard to initiate contact with professionals during hospitalization and after discharge. (3) The importance of information thorr online.
Healthcare professionals must be responsive to what support parents need at different stages in the care process and be aware that parents sometimes hesitate to initiate contact and ask for help and support. Support from healthcare professionals to everyone in the follow-up program, as a default, might be more accessible or acceptable for some parents. Providing online support from professionals should be considered and caregivers could also facilitate peer support among parents, either face-to-face or online.Dietary macronutrient composition influences both hepatic function and aging. Previous work suggested that longevity and hepatic gene expression levels were highly responsive to dietary protein, but almost unaffected by other macronutrients. In contrast, we found expression of 4005, 4232, and 4292 genes in the livers of mice were significantly associated with changes in dietary protein (5%-30%), fat (20%-60%), and carbohydrate (10%-75%), respectively. More genes in aging-related pathways (notably mTOR, IGF-1, and NF-kappaB) had significant correlations with dietary fat intake than protein and carbohydrate intake, and the pattern of gene expression changes in relation to dietary fat intake was in the opposite direction to the effect of graded levels of caloric restriction consistent with dietary fat having a negative impact on aging. We found 732, 808, and 995 serum metabolites were significantly correlated with dietary protein (5%-30%), fat (8.3%-80%), and carbohydrate (10%-80%) contents, respectively. Metabolomics pathway analysis revealed sphingosine-1-phosphate signaling was the significantly affected pathway by dietary fat content which has also been identified as significant changed metabolic pathway in the previous caloric restriction study. Our results suggest dietary fat has major impact on aging-related gene and metabolic pathways compared with other macronutrients.Inorganic heteroanionic materials are attracting increasing attention for exploring new nonlinear optical (NLO) materials because they could better satisfy the necessary but conflicting properties of NLO crystals, e.g. large SHG response and wide band-gap. Up to now, the reports on heteroanionic NLO materials have mainly focused on ultraviolet or visible oxide-based fluoroborates, fluorophosphates, borate-phosphates and borate-iodates. However, chalcogenides containing different kinds of anionic groups have barely been reported. Herein, we have synthesized the first oxychalcogenide-carbonate, Sr3 [SnOSe3 ][CO3 ] that contains two different kinds of anionic groups, [SnOSe3 ] and [CO3 ]. It crystallizes in a noncentrosymmetric space group and exhibits fascinating NLO properties, including a large SHG response (≈1×AGS), sufficient birefringence (0.12 @1064 nm), wide band-gap (3.46 eV) and high laser damage threshold (240 MW cm-2 ). These make Sr3 [SnOSe3 ][CO3 ] a promising NLO crystal. The prevalence of hair loss has increased during COVID-19. In this study, we review the current literature on incidence and characteristics of various types of COVID-19-related and COVID-19-vaccine- related hair loss including telogen effluvium, alopecia areata, friction alopecia and anagen effluvium. Regarding most of them, the more severe the infection, the more profound and prolonged the course of alopecia. However, the most important issue is reassuring the patients of the non-serious nature of this complication, since psychological support is the most important factor in the earlier resolution of the condition. This work reports an aqueous dye-sensitized photoelectrochemical cell (DSPEC) capable of oxidizing glycerol (an archetypical biobased compound) coupled with H2 production. We employed a mesoporous TiO2 photoanode sensitized with the high potential thienopyrroledione-based dye AP11, encased in an acetonitrile-based redox-gel that protects the photoanode from degradation by aqueous electrolytes. The use of the gel creates a biphasic system with an interface at the organic (gel) electrode and aqueous anolyte. Embedded in the acetonitrile gel is 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl (TEMPO), acting as both a redox-mediator and a catalyst for oxidative transformations. Upon oxidation of TEMPO by the photoexcited dye, the in situ generated TEMPO+ shuttles through the gel to the acetonitrile-aqueous interface, where it acts as an oxidant for the selective conversion of glycerol to glyceraldehyde. The introduction of the redox-gel layer affords a 10-fold increase in the conversion of glycerol compared to the purely aqueous system. Our redox-gel protected photoanode yielded a stable photocurrent over 48 hours of continuous operation, demonstrating that this DSPEC is compatible with alkaline aqueous reactions.
Identification of modifiable intrinsic factors for occupational falls is required for initiating effective fall prevention strategies for older workers. This study aimed to identify modifiable intrinsic factors related to falls during occupational activities among older workers.
This retrospective study involved 1164 older workers (aged ≥60 years, workdays ≥4/month) sampled from 18 public employment agencies for seniors in Saitama, Japan. Participants were assessed regarding the following 10 modifiable intrinsic factors multimorbidity, polypharmacy, fall-risk-increasing medication use, self-rated vision and hearing, functional strength, bilateral stepping, standing balance, executive function and visuospatial ability. The number of falls during occupational activities in the past year was also recorded.
In total, 111 falls occurred in 73 of the 1164 participants during occupational activities in the past year. A negative binomial regression model showed that use of fall-risk-increasing medications (incidence rate ratio [IRR] 2.
