We ascertained seven new patients from six unrelated families harboring biallelic variants in ARV1, including five novel variants. Affected individuals showed psychomotor delay, hypotonia, early onset refractory seizures followed by regression and specific neuroimaging features. Flow cytometric analysis on patient fibroblasts showed a decrease in GPI-anchored proteins on the cell surface, supporting a lower residual activity of the mutant ARV1 as compared to the wildtype. A rescue assay through the transduction of lentivirus expressing wild type ARV1 cDNA effectively rescued these alterations. This study expands the clinical and molecular spectrum of the ARV1-related encephalopathy, confirming the essential role of ARV1 in GPI biosynthesis and brain function.Periodontitis is a major burden of public health, affecting 20%-50% of the global population. It is a complex inflammatory disease characterized by the destruction of supporting structures of the teeth, leading to tooth loss and the emergence or worsening of systematic diseases. Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying the physiopathology of periodontitis is beneficial for targeted therapeutics. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), transcripts made up of more than 200 nucleotides, have emerged as novel regulators of many biological and pathological processes. Recently, an increasing number of dysregulated lncRNAs have been found to be implicated in periodontitis. In this review, an overview of lncRNAs, including their biogenesis, characteristics, function mechanisms and research approaches, is provided. And we summarize recent research reports on the emerging roles of lncRNAs in regulating proliferation, apoptosis, inflammatory responses, and osteogenesis of periodontal cells to elucidate lncRNAs related physiopathology of periodontitis. Furthermore, we have highlighted the underlying mechanisms of lncRNAs in periodontitis pathology by interacting with microRNAs. Finally, the potential clinical applications, current challenges, and prospects of lncRNAs as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets for periodontitis disease are discussed.Forensic investigation of cases involving spray paints requires comparison of paint such as those recovered from graffiti with the references sample seized from the suspect's possession site. This study describes the use of Attenuated Total Reflectance Fourier Transform Infrared (ATR-FT-IR) spectroscopy for nondestructive analysis of 20 red spray paints of different manufactures, which could be encountered at a crime scene, particularly in case of vandalism. Spray paints could be encountered on a number of different substrates, and therefore, the samples were placed on simulated substrates and were analyzed in order to check the effect of substrates on sample analysis. Results showed that all samples could be successfully differentiated using ATR-FT-IR spectroscopy assisted with principal component analysis. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is an effective treatment for youth with anxiety and related disorders, with a 59% remission rate at post-treatment. Results of reviews and meta-analyses indicate that treatment gains are maintained across long-term follow-up, at least in terms of symptom improvement. Less is known about relapse, defined as patients who initially achieve remission status but then experience a return of symptoms after a follow-up period.

The current study used meta-analysis to determine the overall rate of relapse in CBT for children and adolescents (age 18years or younger) with anxiety and related disorders. Potential moderating factors of relapse rates, including demographic, methodological, and clinical/intervention characteristics, were also examined. Out of a pool of 78 abstracts, 13 full-text articles were retained for meta-analysis. An additional two articles were identified from other sources (total N=535 patients).

Results showed an overall relapse rate of 10.5% (including comorbid autism spectrum disorder) and 8% (excluding comorbid autism spectrum disorder) across studies. Moderator analyses demonstrated that relapse rates were higher among younger and more racially diverse samples, as well as among patients with comorbid externalizing disorders and those taking psychiatric medications. There were no differences in relapse rates as a function of primary diagnosis.

Taken together, the findings indicate that relapse rates in CBT for anxious youth are relatively low, suggesting that treatment development and refinement efforts should focus on improving treatment response and remission rates for this population.
