The influence of ultrasound-assisted rapid hydrothermal synthesis of aluminosilicate ZSM-5 catalysts was examined in this work. A series of MFI-type nanostructured materials with sonochemical approach and conventionalheating were synthesized and evaluated for conversion of methanol to propylene reaction. The prepared samples were tested by characterization analyses such as XRD, FESEM, BET-BJH, FTIR, TPD-NH3 and TG/DTG. The obtained results confirmed that ultrasound treatment enhanced the nucleation process and crystal growth for ZSM-5 sample synthesized at moderate temperature of 250 °C. Therefore, it was found the formation of pure MFI zeolite with high crystallinity and improved textural, structural and acidic properties for ZSM-5(UH-250) sample compared with the other zeolites. This observation was attributed to the relationship between the perfect crystallization mechanism and catalytic properties, which led to producing an efficient MFI zeolite toward the optimal catalytic performance. In this manner, the methanol conversion and products selectivity of prepared materials were carried out in MTP reaction at 460 °C and atmospheric pressure. The ZSM-5(UH-250) zeolite with slower deactivation regime exhibited the constant level of methanol conversion (84%) and high propylene selectivity (78%) after 2100 min time on stream. Moreover, the synthesis pathway for MFI zeolite at moderate temperature and also deactivation mechanism of improved sample were proposed. In many applications, microbubbles (MBs) are encapsulated by a lipid coating to increase their stability. However, the complex behavior of the lipid coating including buckling and rupture sophisticates the dynamics of the MBs and as a result the dynamics of the lipid coated MBs (LCMBs) are not well understood. Here, we investigate the nonlinear behavior of the LCMBs by analyzing their bifurcation structure as a function of acoustic pressure. We show that, the LC can enhance the generation of period 2 (P2), P3, higher order subharmonics (SH), superharmonics and chaos at very low excitation pressures (e.g. 1 kPa). For LCMBs sonicated by their SH resonance frequency and in line with experimental observations with increasing pressure, P2 oscillations exhibit three stages generation at low acoustic pressures, disappearance and re-generation. Within non-destructive oscillation regimes and by pressure amplitude increase, LCMBs can also exhibit two saddle node (SN) bifurcations resulting in possible abrupt enhancement of the scattered pressure. The first SN resembles the pressure dependent resonance phenomenon in uncoated MBs and the second SN resembles the pressure dependent SH resonance. Depending on the initial surface tension of the LCMBs, the nonlinear behavior may also be suppressed for a wide range of excitation pressures. This study successfully manufactured a p-n heterojunction hematite (α-Fe2O3) structure with molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) to address the electron-hole transfer problems of conventional hematite to enhance photoelectrochemical (PEC) performance. The two-dimensional MoS2 nanosheets were prepared through ultrasonication-assisted liquid-phase exfoliation, after which the concentration, number of layers, and thickness parameters of the MoS2 nanosheets were respectively estimated by UV-vis, HRTEM and AFM analysis to be 0.37 mg/ml, 10-12 layers and around 6 nm. The effect of heterojunction α-Fe2O3/MoS2 and the role of the ultrasonication process were investigated by the optimized concentration of MoS2 in the forms of bulk and nanosheet on the surface of the α-Fe2O3 electrode while measuring the PEC performance. The best photocurrent density of the α-Fe2O3/MoS2 photoanode was obtained at 1.52 and 0.86 mA.cm-2 with good stability at 0.6 V vs. Ag/AgCl under 100 mW/cm2 (AM 1.5) illumination from the back- and front-sides of α-Fe2O3/MoS2; these values are 13.82 and 7.85-times higher than those of pure α-Fe2O3, respectively. The results of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and Mott-Schottky analysis showed increased donor concentration (2.6-fold) and decreased flat band potential (by 20%). Moreover, the results of IPCE, ABPE, and OCP analyses also supported the enhanced PEC performance of α-Fe2O3/MoS2 through the formation of a p-n heterojunction, leading to a facile electron-hole transfer.
Atherosclerosis is a degenerative disease of the arterial wall. It results in the formation of progressively growing plaque lesions that can harden and narrow their host arteries. Current computational models of the inflammatory process that govern atherosclerosis growth are reliant on a number of parameters that can freely vary and whose precise values are not well known.
To identify the significance of variation in such parameters, a parametric sensitivity study had been conducted on the blood density, blood viscosity, plasma viscosity and bulk flow low density lipoprotein (LDL) concentration. Using computational modeling, the significance of variation in these parameters was assessed on the transport of LDL. The simulation was performed via the 2
factorial experimental design, which was conducted to identify the significance of the select parameters on the intima LDL concentration and endothelial LDL coverage area.
Results identified the blood viscosity and bulk flow LDL concentration are the dominant parameters for the atherosclerotic lesion growth. The coverage of LDL on the arterial wall surface was strongly dependent on the blood viscosity. Selleckchem SD-208 The significance of these findings was discussed.
This statistical study identifies two dominating blood factors, LDL concentration and blood viscosity, and how they influence atherosclerosis which will serves as a guideline for further investigation on the atherosclerosis topic.

In this work, we address the problem of detecting and discriminating acute psychological stress (APS) in the presence of concurrent physical activity (PA) using wristband biosignals. We focused on signals available from wearable devices that can be worn in daily life because the ultimate objective of this work is to provide APS and PA information in real-time management of chronic conditions such as diabetes by automated personalized insulin delivery. Monitoring APS noninvasively throughout free-living conditions remains challenging because the responses to APS and PA of many physiological variables measured by wearable devices are similar.
Various classification algorithms are compared to simultaneously detect and discriminate the PA (sedentary state, treadmill running, and stationary bike) and the type of APS (non-stress state, mental stress, and emotional anxiety). The impact of APS inducements is verified with commonly used self-reported questionnaires (The State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI)). To aid the classification algorithms, novel features are generated from the physiological variables reported by a wristband device during 117 hours of experiments involving simultaneous APS inducement and PA.
